CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL - TUESDAY 12th - FRIDAY 15th MARCH 2019

The offers I am planning to take advantage of are:-

  • Skybet - money back as cash if you lose - up to £20 - 1st Race every day of the festival. Expected Value: £16 per day, £64 in total
  • betway - if your horse loses in the first or last race at Cheltenham each day, we’ll refund you with a Free Bet up to £/€10 in each race. Expected Value: £6 per race, £48 in total
  • Ladbrokes - £1 free bet each day of the festival. Expected Value: £0.70 per race, £2.80 in total
  • William Hill - I have a few £5 free bets already set up which should credit to be used on Tuesday.
  • Matchbook- £20 free bet sign up offer.

I'm interested in the extra place offers offered by Betfred & Paddy Power but don't think I know enough about horse racing to do these and also I will only be online early morning and evenings after 9pm. Also the double winnings at Coral are interesting. I wish I understood the offers at Betfair Sportsbook & Exchange as these are probably good too. I might look into all these a bit more.

I've discounted using Racebets and Sportspesa as they have bad reviews and/or are super quick to gub. I didn't get the Bet365 offer Sad or I'd be taking full advantage of that!

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm feeling a bit bamboozled, so much so that I'm just want to close the laptop down and run away and forget the whole thing is happening! So to keep my sanity, I'm probably going to choose just a few good offers as listed above and concentrate on those and maybe some Cheltenham casino offers too. I'm aware there's stacks of cash to be made though, hopefully you are going for the big £££! That being said, I'd absolutely love your tips and to hear your plans so thay we can make some money together! It's also be interesting to know targets. Mine is £250 for the week but this will include weekly stuff (bet clubs, price boosts, darts) and also casino.

If anyone has bet as a matched bettor at Cheltenham before, I (and am sure everyone!) would be grateful for your advice and help so please post!

Just checked my Smarkets and I've done 66 bets so far this month BlushGrin

thefavourite · 13/03/2019 23:20

Shit, mine is 143. I wonder if that's per calendar month?

So my plan for tomorrow:-

  • Sky bet (Free SNR calc.)
  • Coral (Win bonus calc.)
  • Bethard (double back odds normal calc.)
  • Sportspesa £20 bonus token (don't count this as counted locked in profit on 13/3)
  • McBookie £10 TB
  • McBookie £10 FB
  • Moplay £15 FBs
  • Betfred £5 FB
  • Ladbrokes £1 FB
  • Extra places?

Morning Cheltenhamers! Hope it's nice and sunny wherever you are 😎

I've just seen a comment from Ryan from oddsmonkey on a community post saying that profit from extra place dutching is rare these days so doubt I'll spend any time on this now.

Still unsure how people are making mega bucks. I feel I'm missing something (like EP dutching but it can't be that).

YesQueen · 14/03/2019 09:18

@Coppermine I think a fair few are using multiple accounts and not admitting it

Coppermine · 14/03/2019 15:30

Eeek I need Paisley Park to win (clear favourite at the mo) then I will win £9 from my free £1 ladbrokes bet on a double boost they had with the 13:30 race.

Fairyliz · 14/03/2019 15:38

Drinks on Coppermine Wink

Coppermine · 14/03/2019 15:38

Yesssss!!! What a beautiful horse. I'm having a good day. Just hoping one of my extra places in the next race comes in now....

miltonroad · 14/03/2019 15:44

Well done coppermine 😁 quieter day here, hope everyone else is doing well

YesQueen · 14/03/2019 16:07

£80 from skybet - I punted the bet £20, get £20 back if you lose and took the (no!) risk Smile

Coppermine · 14/03/2019 16:14

Well done Queen. I would have done the same if I hadn't locked the profit in!

So I've managed to back the top 6 horses for a £2.50QL, for extra places. Need one of them to place 5th!

Coppermine · 14/03/2019 16:30

Well four of them placed the top 4. Then the other two placed 18th and 18th so completely let me down!

Oh well. Seems my luck has ran out haha.

DonkeyScramble · 14/03/2019 21:11

Arghhh! Turns out I had a deposit limit set on Bet365 and it's stopped me adding more funds tonight so I can't use the £50 free bet. I've managed £30 of it but so annoying.

misstiggiwinkle · 14/03/2019 21:43

So I've just learned something sensational. The Ladbrokes £1 fb can be used as a 7 fold Acca (or fewer). If mine comes in then I stand to make £51k from it...... aghhhhhhh

Golden0ldie · 14/03/2019 22:25

I saw that too misstiggiwinkle. What’s the best way to,do it? Just pick favourites? No lay. And how does it pay out ... so if you select 7 horses and, say, 2 win, does it pay anything? Might have some fun with it tomorrow!

You only win if every selection wins.

Hello!

I've had a great day today with a profit of £92, and I'm still waiting on the golf Player's Championship to finish in U.S.A. later tonight. I underlaid this price boost, so if my bet wins at bookies, I will net another £9.90, if not, I've not lost anything.

Fantastic profit on the punted Sky bet @YesQueen (by the way, if you're in Scotland am assuming so from your username, McBookie are offering £10 FB for Scottish residents for placing a £10 TB each day of Cheltenham if you're interested?).

I lucked out with Bethard today. I happily locked in £15 profit from offer earlier then went to work and didn't realise all the drama re. the terms of the double odds offer had changed to max. winnings of £50! That could have been a very very expensive morning! I wasn't around to panic and have to mess around with the unwanted lay calc. so luckily my horse lost! I did back before 9.30am so the original offer should have been honoured, but it would have been a tense few hours! Annoying that offer isn't on tomorrow, well it is but the offer definitely isn't as lucrative.

Just won £5.36 on Coral £2 casino bonus on a slot. Then lost it again wagering on
Coral roulette! I was trying to take part in the bet £20, get £10 FB offer on roulette -not realising that the wagering on roulette had to be between 8am and 12noon, grrrr!

Enjoy the last day everyone, looking forward to hearing the totals!

Blush Player's Championship finishes on Sunday Blush, looks like I'll have to wait for my result!

UatuTheWatcher · 14/03/2019 23:18

We started MB in January with £100, by the time we got to Cheltenham we had paid back the £100 and had £200ish to play with and by the time Cheltenham finishes tomorrow we should (fingers crossed) have £500ish in the bank so we are very happy with the races this year. Though DH has just told me he thinks he's fucked up and placed a bet on PP and laid it at BF earlier on today.

thefavourite · 15/03/2019 06:47

@UatuTheWatcher, thats amazing, well done! I am amazed at how you managed to make £300 in 4 days backing horses without a large bank as its taken every penny I can get my hands for liability for me to make a similar amount. Have you have some lucky free bet punts?

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/03/2019 06:55

Urgent, the matchbook sign up offer, is it a back bet or lay bet they’ll refund? Thank you.

Coppermine · 15/03/2019 07:41

It's a back bet. I did this one earlier this week.

misstiggiwinkle · 15/03/2019 08:57

Last day team, best of match betting luck to everyone!

I'm struggling this morning with terrible matches as I really need to get some of my bets in early as so much to do today (and two small children to look after!)

UatuTheWatcher · 15/03/2019 11:39

thefavourite yes we’ve had some really good results on the free bets and been really lucky. DH has been really methodical over it all sitting down with pen and paper each evening and working each bit out then placing the next days bets.

thefavourite · 15/03/2019 12:47

I've got a few underlays on the next few matches, fingers crossed for at least 1 coming in!

Matchbook terms say back or lay, I did it earlier this week.

I hope everyone is on top of the WH flash odds between 12noon and 1pm as they are easily making me another £5 or so a day. I missed 12noons but got 12.15pm and 12.30pm, checking back now for 12.45pm!
