I know there have been numerous threads on this topic, but I have struggled to understand how to go about getting started. The more I read about it the more overwhelmed I become. Spreadsheets, separate bank accounts , odds, blah blah . It may as well be quantum mechanics!
I need the money for a specific reason so I need to get to grips with it all and get started. I am an intelligent person, I just need to persevere.
I would really appreciate some very basic advice. I know about OddsMonkey and other sites. I have watched the videos and understand the basic concept, but then I am lost. I don't want to make mistakes and lose money.
Help!

I should say that MU also didn’t score first ... can’t recall whether they scored at all!

DonkeyScramble · 08/03/2019 23:00

I've had a terrible day on casino! Down £70 or so. Might just stick to betting as that's pure profit.

Golden0ldie · 08/03/2019 23:15

Oh Donkey, that’s soul destroying. Maybe a goid wekend and good Cheltenham will help recoup losses?

DonkeyScramble · 09/03/2019 11:39

Still being crushed in the casinos but all my Bet365 mug betting seems to have paid off and I finally have an offer from them, and it's a corker: a £50 FB each day of Cheltenham provided I place another £50 on a race that day.

Golden0ldie · 09/03/2019 12:06

Oh wow lucky you, I only got a tenner! What size of mug bets and how often for that? I have placed a few but around £10 so will up the ante before Aintree.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/03/2019 12:26

I haven’t been offered anything from bet365 so I’d be interested too.

I’ve done the starsports and William hill tb for chelters and my 138.com free bet.

I need to withdraw everything tonight for Tuesday.

Fairyliz · 09/03/2019 13:00

I got £25 with bet 365 so pleased with that. I also keep getting Cheltenham offers from WH bet £10 get free £5 bet. I went on twitter the other night to ask if I could take part in more than one and the answer was yes so I currently have seven £5 bets due. Just hope they all show in my account on Tuesday.

DonkeyScramble · 09/03/2019 13:13

I did the Bet365 welcome offer 2 months ago and have never had a reload offer from them. I occasionally looked at oddsmatcher and placed the odd £10 bet when the trigger bet would have given a small profit. I accidentally ended up with a huge win though ( I had layed it so I didn't actually benefit more than a few pence) as I backed a horse at very high odds and it won! I've probably placed 6 mug bets with them so not loads, and mostly on horses.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/03/2019 17:10

£1.92 on paddy powers free spins promo. Either my internets shit or their servers overloaded but it was the most tortuously slow slot.

Golden0ldie · 09/03/2019 17:15

I’ve signed up for Bethard amd plan to do the Racebets sign up, also SportPesa have a couple of Cheltenham offers for existing customers.

My biggest worry is that I don’t have enough money and it will be in the wrong places. Have withdrawn from some bookies during the week. Tom on TP says if you withdraw tonight it should hit your bank by Monday. With the exception of Skybet and Betfair I have yet to see money come back so quickly but will actually do a few more withdrawals.

Fairy, I’ve four of those offers ... Tuesday’s going to be a busy day!!

DonkeyScramble · 09/03/2019 17:32

Racebets is terrible, avoid at all costs! They gub really soon and stake limit you to SP only which means it's nigh on impossible to get small QL and you have to bet seconds before the race starts.

UatuTheWatcher · 09/03/2019 18:17

We had nothing but problems with Sportspesa. Had a lot of money trapped in there due to the way the offers were worded so beware.

misstiggiwinkle · 10/03/2019 08:56

Could we have a bit of a pre Cheltenham discussion?

I'm going to do a bunch of mug bets today on horses and load up most of the big bookies and the exchange with £ so that there is less time wasted on depositing (I'll only really have an hour or two a day to be able to do bets realistically).

Which bookies do you think will be doing the best offers? I don't want to get bogged down with time consuming ones that don't make lots of profit

Great minds!

misstiggiwinkle · 10/03/2019 09:07

@thefavourite ha! I'll hop over there!

misstiggiwinkle · 10/03/2019 10:41

Please can someone talk me through Golden goals? Just had a WH email and keen to try

thefavourite · 10/03/2019 11:19

I can! But why reinvent the wheel, there's a brilliant guide here:-

www.teamprofit.com/william-hill-golden-goal

So in this upcoming game I've backed Arsenal so, using the guide above, I hope that Arsenal score first then go on to lose . I then win my stake back plus max. £50 winnings AND my lay stake. Or I could lock-in profit by cashing out once they go 1up. It explains all this in the guide.

However, all that being said, OM have recently worked out a way to lock in profit prior to the match by using Betfair Next Goal market and this is now what I do. This means I'm not taking a ql every few days as this offer doesn't pay out all the time. This nets around £4-£6 profit per offer with still the opportunity to win big if a team goes 1up. Very confusingly this is the opposite way round to the way above so in today's example, I've backed Arsenal at WH and on any of the other three outcomes, I get £5.70. However if Man U. score first and Arsenal win THEN I win big £87.95. I'll attach a photo of the spreadsheet in a second as this helps. If you have OM you can download this and use it each time thr offer is on or I can send it to you.

Coppermine · 10/03/2019 17:17

FFS

I locked in the golden goal profit again (2nd time) but even if you lock in, if the match goes a certain way then you can win both back and lay bet and get a really decent profit (today would have been £90)

Last week it went the opposite way to how I'd backed it and today I'm already out too. Bloody typical. This is why I would never bother gambling as i always pick the wrong side! Grin

DonkeyScramble · 10/03/2019 18:22

Casinos have been kinder to me today! Two £50 wins from a couple of them. Stupidly did the Redbet welcome offer last night and had £500 liability at smarkets which would have moved to Redbet if Arsenal drew today. Thankfully they've won (so far) so I won't be short at the exchange for next week.

Fairyliz · 10/03/2019 18:57

Can anyone explain wagering to me? I have any offer deposit £10 and get £10 free spins. So I will have £20 to play with. But wagering requirement is 30 times so I assume £10 x 30 = £300?
But surely any winnings will be long gone before then?

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/03/2019 19:09

It’ll be 30 x what you win using the spins I think.

titchy · 10/03/2019 19:14

Fairy check the ts and cs. Does it use cash or bonus first? Can you deposit your £10, wager once on Blackjack then withdraw leaving the bonus? If withdrawing cancels the bonus, and it uses your cash first, then it's a high risk offer - you'll lose your money.

If you can withdraw, or it uses the free £10 first though, go with £1 spins on something medium to high variance. You'll need big wins early to see you through. 80% chance of busting out though.

thefavourite · 10/03/2019 19:24

Me too @Coppermine, exactly the same situation. Because I'd locked in (& therefore needed the result to go the opposite way to my original back bet), it didn't go in my favour, whereas if I'd left it... I also can't get online during matches all the time so can't rely on cashing out.

thefavourite · 10/03/2019 22:50

Bumper week this week thanks to some l/r casino and loads of reloads and I've come out £280 in profit. Stupidly feeling cross with myself that its not £300, so need to give myself a shake as this is the stuff of dreams! Its good though that its all spread around online, it doesn't feel like my money so it's nice and safe!

End of week 9 and total profit to date is £1,080. It was slightly more but I've spent a small amount. I'm £180 over my revised £100 p/w target now with hopefully another bumper week to come. I might take the following week off, allow my brain to reset a bit but then I'll see the offers stacking up...!

misstiggiwinkle · 11/03/2019 11:02

Just been emailed a Virgin games £10 for depositing £10 with only a 1x wager on the bonus. Played on Secrets of the Phoenix and came away with £14.50 nice little start to the day!
