I know there have been numerous threads on this topic, but I have struggled to understand how to go about getting started. The more I read about it the more overwhelmed I become. Spreadsheets, separate bank accounts , odds, blah blah . It may as well be quantum mechanics!
I need the money for a specific reason so I need to get to grips with it all and get started. I am an intelligent person, I just need to persevere.
I would really appreciate some very basic advice. I know about OddsMonkey and other sites. I have watched the videos and understand the basic concept, but then I am lost. I don't want to make mistakes and lose money.
Help!

Cheltenham thread would be great! I also read that thread on OM favourite.

Great casino/bingo wins ladies. At the risk of sounding dim, please would someone give me an idiot’s guide to bingo. I have watched the OM videos/training guide but it seems to be for a specific offer and you have to buy as many tickets as possible in a short t8meframe, spread over different bingo rooms. Is that what you guys do? Do the numbers get checked automatically? They must!

I’m setting PyPal up with my Betfair account to enable faster withdrawals next week. I only had to withdraw £246 back to my debit card to meet the money laundering regulations. Can’t do it on Smarkets as I need to withdraw £700 which I don’t have there. Will probably use Betfair a lot next week despite commission charges.

Fluffy, with only a £5 wager, I’m tempted to look at that offer despite saying I won’t try casino until after Cheltenham.

Golden0ldie · 06/03/2019 19:55

Oh re Netbet ... they gubbed me really quickly too. Grrr.

Fairyliz · 06/03/2019 19:59

Done my first Cheltenham bet with sky bet:-
.
Max £20 bet and £20 back as cash (not free bet!) on the first race on Tuesday (13.30).
Worked out I should make £17.22 from this one.
I think it might be the first race every day but not sure about this

Fairyliz · 06/03/2019 20:08

Golden0ldie re bingo
You go into a room and each room has a different price per tickets 10p/20p/50p etc. Once in the room you can select how many tickets you want to buy 1/5/10/30 etc When you press buy it will show if they are free before you press confirm.

When I was using my 200 free tickets with Heart bingo I used the maximum I could in one room (60), which meant I had a higher proportion of the tickets in that room.

The game automatically checks your tickets for you.

Hope that makes sense!

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/03/2019 20:29

Fairy Which calculator did you use for that chelt bet?. Is it safe to bet that far ahead?

Gold Use min stake/max lines which is 25p on bloodsuckers. Some sites let you demo a game with no money.

Golden0ldie · 06/03/2019 22:07

Fluffy and Fairy, thanks! Fluffy with Kitty did you deposit £10, wager 5 and turn down the new customer 300% bonus with 100 free spins when making your deposit? On the basis that you are £4 from the Quidco cashback if you lose the £5?

thefavourite · 06/03/2019 22:26

Wah! I have bets on Roma and Porto which has gone to ET. Smarkets have settled as Porto win! What if its a draw or Roma win, do I lose at bookies & exchange due to match going to ET/poss. penalties???

thefavourite · 06/03/2019 22:52

So Porto won so no drama but that was a tense 30 minutes! I don't understand why Smarkets settled before the HT whistle?

thefavourite · 06/03/2019 22:58

*FT

miltonroad · 07/03/2019 08:48

The bets would have settled at the bookies and exchange if you bet on the 1x2 market after 90 mins (+stoppage time) as a Porto win as they won the match 2-1

It went to extra time as the score was drawn on aggregate. The only way there could be issues if you had bet on a team to qualify in which case et and pens would be taken into account and you’d laid it on the match market

titchy · 07/03/2019 09:15

All win/draw/lose bets are in the 90 minute (plus normal extra time) result. Extra periods of play, penalties etc don't count.

thefavourite · 07/03/2019 09:28

Yes I understand aggregate.

I was confused as, after 90 mins, Smarkets had settled but Betstars hadn't - I assume now that this is because the game hadn't finished but it would have settled at the bookie after the game ended as a Porto win regardless of the result after ET/pens.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/03/2019 09:38

Golden I thought I’d run through the higher variance games on 10 £1 spins but then spotted Bloodsuckers and that’s got a return to player of 98% plus they do good bonus rounds. The logic being if I lose all my stake the cashback would cover it eventually.

miltonroad · 07/03/2019 10:14

The favourite - yup
It sounds like they were just late in settling then

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 07/03/2019 16:25

A Cheltenham thread would be great. It would appear there's a lot of money to be had but i just don't get horses.

Keep trying my look with bet365 2up. No luck so far.

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 07/03/2019 16:26

*luck even Confused

Golden0ldie · 07/03/2019 17:04

Glad it worked out last night favourite.

Okay, so I signed up, via Quidco, for Kitty Bingo and selected the free spins (x25 wagering) bonus. I played Bloodsuckers, mostly at 25p a spin then 50p at the end. My £10 is now £6-odd, having never got above £10.20 so I have stopped spinning. What I’m not sure is whether the £5 wager will qualify me for cashback as the terms seem contradictory (pic attached) and whether I should just withdraw then use the free spins or should I play the £6 somewhere.

This casino stuff is confusing me ... it was much simpler when our parents gave us 50p for the slot machine on holidays!

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/03/2019 18:16

You’ve probably qualified. Wait for the free spins and play them through.

You’ve just go to hit the slots at the right time. I did one once, lost £10 straightaway.

bringincrazyback · 07/03/2019 19:41

Just to pat myself on the back, I've been doing matched betting less than a week and I've managed to make about 50 quid so far (using the training vids/offers on Profit Accumulator) ... I'm still very much a fledgling but I'm proud of myself for even getting this far, considering how dramatically I suck with figures! Grin

LeesPostersAreInFrames · 07/03/2019 21:47

I don't think you can withdraw then use free spins or bonus on kitty bingo. It's a heluva entrapment model. See if you can use the spins now, and withdraw afterwards

Golden0ldie · 07/03/2019 22:05

Thanks both. Used the spins, won £1.98 but it is using my funds before bonus funds for the wagering so only spent 25p to check. If I withdraw this quickly, will I still get the Quidco cashback or am I best to let it lie there for a week or so to make sure Quidco is processed?

I am now officially doing nothing except free spins with no wagering until Cheltenham is done and dusted!

thefavourite · 07/03/2019 22:21

I won £17.03 on Kitty Bingo bloodsucker slot earlier today (thanks for the tip!).

I am going to forfeit the bonus too, can't face losing all that money and they have a cap on winnings from bonus money too.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/03/2019 07:32

The kitty bingo things only risk free because of the cashback. Golden you can ask them how much you’ve wagered.

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 08/03/2019 10:05

I ended up £15 up on the bloodsucker game so I gave up my bonus and took it.

The casinos, I find myself thinking I'll have a couple more goes with my winnings.
Dangerous ground.

I ended up £15 up with monopoly casino this morning after wagering my money. So took that out... although it should have been £17 up but I couldn't resist a few more goes. Not doing that again.

Golden0ldie · 08/03/2019 22:44

Had a pleasant surprise today. Logged onto Will Hill and couldn’t understand why my balance was £120 instead of £30. Did a bit of digging. So about a month ago I backed MU to beat PSG in an attempt at golden goal, laid on exchange, MU lost the match so I won on exchange and had a sub £2 ql for my efforts. Except, unbeknownst to me, I hadn’t selected the match odds price for MU but had backed them to qualify. Which they did the other night so had a lovely £90 credited against a £40 bet. So up £50 there and up high 30’s with the exchange bet in early Feb. Nice mistake for once!

Taking it easy this weekend for fear of gubbings and also don’t want money getting stuck in the wrong places ... but still have a list of 6 bets to sort out in the morning.
