Hello, I am just looking for any advice (preferably from NHS experience) as I know no one who has gone through this to ask.

I am 9 1/2 weeks pregnant, had a private scan yesterday which confirmed heart stopped at 6+4. I had a gut feeling (hence the scan) I can’t explain why as I still have all my symptoms.

I rang my local unit and went today for a scan who again confirmed the same as the private scan but are making us go back in 14 days for a re scan before I can have any medical management.

it just feels cruel and I have so many worries.
Will it happen naturally when it stopped so long ago?
can I end up with an infection with it just left there?
Will the NHS offer surgical management over tablets?

I just feel tortured

thank you to anyone who has read this!

I’m due this Tuesday! Can’t believe it! 24 weeks must have come around so quickly for you - you’ll be third trimester before you know it. Hope you’re feeling well?

InvisibleDragon · 11/04/2025 17:08

Congratulations on your pregnancies @CJHR18 and @KT199 , that's such exciting news for you both!

Good luck with the last weeks of your pregnancy @Bellebg, so nearly there now!

TruthUnwinding · 11/04/2025 17:29

Wow congratulations, lots of hopeful outcomes after the MMC's. I haven't managed to conceive since my MMC in July, but having investigations done currently and hoping my next pregnancy sticks. <3

Armdjm · 11/04/2025 17:39

@Bellebg oh wow that is amazing! best of luck for your delivery!
It has flown over the last few weeks. I feel much better than I felt in the beginning I was so sick up until around 16 weeks. Typical little girly!

Thank you ladies, obviously on tender hooks but worrying won’t change the outcome so just keep telling myself this when the anxiety creeps in. I’m still very early at 4+5 but getting dye stealers now so hopefully things will be progressing as they should - although we all sadly know too well that tests really have no bearing on the viability of a pregnancy!

Armdjm · 16/04/2025 18:39

@KT199 i don’t know about yourself but I had such a strange feeling that something bad was going to happen last time and as soon as I found out this time I didn’t have that same feeling so I clung to that 🤞🏼

I don’t want to jinx anything but what I will say is I am a lot more relaxed this time.. which is bizzare considering what happened. I’m not sure if that’s because I feel I’ve already had the worst happen to me.. I can’t really explain it but even at 5 weeks last time I was convinced something was wrong and was so anxious. I thought this time my anxiety would be so severe I would barely be able to function but I’m managing perfectly fine with a little hint of worry here and there but it passes within minutes.

Hi all,
got my period 5 weeks after MMC. For some reason I’ve been saying it was 8 weeks but I think it was because my period came on 8th April. Anyways, im tracking my ovulation again and according to Flo etc it should be happening in the next couple of days.

my question is… did anyone feel really sick and weak after their first period after MC? I think my cycle and PMS completely changed after my first child. It went back to like being a teenager - terrible pains etc. It’s too long ago to remember if it was like this when I got my period after being pregnant.

I’ve got chest pain which I think it gone to reflux; lower back is really sore and I feel sick. Definitely not pregnant yet - unless I ovulated as soon as period finished - I doubt it though.

SureLook · 18/04/2025 19:12

@Sunshine8537 no I didn't feel that way with my first period. It was a normal period for me. Maybe you've come down with something? Do you feel like you've a fever or anything?

No. Feel fine. Just stomach cramps and digestion.

SureLook · 18/04/2025 19:32

@Sunshine8537 it could just be everything settling down again? Your hormones are probably to blame!

Morning gals. I hope you all had a lovely Easter. I was wondering what your cycles were like after your MMC? My first one post D&C was textbook. My next cycles were 25 and 27 days and not my usual AF. Strong cramps a few days before and even the bleeding is different. Anyone else the same?

I am only on my first after MC so nothing to really compare but what I will say is I’m feeling every symptom and it’s like when I was a teenager. Period was 5 days rather than 4 but 5th day was very light and only when I wiped. Textbook ovulation day 14 (currently day 16) but quite painful. Terrible dizziness today.

SureLook · 22/04/2025 12:30

@Sunshine8537 interesting that you should say about the dizziness. I was talking to a lady on here who said she was experiencing dizziness on her first period. I also felt a bit lightheaded in the days leading up to it. I wonder what that's about!

I think it’s the rise of estogen. Maybe it’s something to do with the quick rise and fall due to miscarriage?

I watched a podcast other day about fertility and it was a real eye opener. so interesting.

@SureLook after my first one my cycles dropped from approx 27 days to more like 21-24 days which worried me at the time because I was starting to spot around 6-7 days post ovulation sometimes
After this one I’ve gone into a textbook 28 day cycle which is reassuring but I am having heavier bleeding and more clots than usual. Period isn’t lasting any longer though so I’m hoping it settles with time.

Hope you’re okay, after the medical management my cycles were so all over the place it was hard to deal with on top of everything else..

SureLook · 22/04/2025 19:57

Thanks @Confusedmermaid1 I was gutted in March when I got my period cause we started TTC again. I've gotten my period again this month but I was much more accepting of it. I had surgical management so I suppose things are just gonna take a while to settle.

Armdjm · 25/04/2025 22:07

@SureLook my periods were heavier and more painful after my surgical management! Also lasted longer sometimes 5/6 days. I only had 3 before falling pregnant again so unfortunately can’t comment on how long they would have taken to settle back down.

@Bellebg have you had your little one?

Amazing @Sunshine8537! Wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy ahead!

@Armdjm Yes! Wilbur arrived on the 16th so he’s just about 2 weeks! Loving the newborn bubble 🤍

For anyone navigating the post MMC period - if it helps - there was always part of me that thought about whether I’d always long for the baby we lost or think about what could have been if we hadn’t miscarried that pregnancy but now that our little one is here we genuinely can’t imagine it having turned out any other way x

Armdjm · 02/05/2025 21:50

@Bellebg aw huge congratulations on your little boy! Enjoy every second they grow so fast 🤍
