Hello, I am just looking for any advice (preferably from NHS experience) as I know no one who has gone through this to ask.

I am 9 1/2 weeks pregnant, had a private scan yesterday which confirmed heart stopped at 6+4. I had a gut feeling (hence the scan) I can’t explain why as I still have all my symptoms.

I rang my local unit and went today for a scan who again confirmed the same as the private scan but are making us go back in 14 days for a re scan before I can have any medical management.

it just feels cruel and I have so many worries.
Will it happen naturally when it stopped so long ago?
can I end up with an infection with it just left there?
Will the NHS offer surgical management over tablets?

I just feel tortured

thank you to anyone who has read this!

@KT199 ah that's great that your period is back. I was happy as well. It was good reassurance that things are resetting. Although it is a bit bittersweet! Are you going to start TTC soon? Sorry if I've already asked this!

Yeah I feel glad it hopefully closes this chapter, but also seem to be reflecting a lot on the last few months and thinking at what “stage” I should be at. All conflicting!!

Yeah, we get married early April. So with how it’s fallen, if my cycle goes back to normal, I will be due AF the day we come home. It’s abit of a toss up between giving it a go but having to be concious the latter few days of the trip just incase we did get very lucky or just waiting until we get home and resume from April. Are you back TTC now or waiting a little?

SureLook · 10/03/2025 11:56

@KT199 I'm the same. Find myself checking the calendar and thinking oh I'd be X weeks now etc. Hard not to do that!

Ah yes, I remember your wedding now. I understand the confliction. I'm currently in my fertile week according to my app but BD has only happened once. Exhaustion and working a lot are getting in the way 😂 I know it only takes once but still!

GreenForestsAndWhiteSnow · 14/03/2025 20:52

Thank you so much everyone ❤️ you have no idea how much better it makes me feel that there is a group like this who have been through the same thing. And I love hearing the success stories and even just that it has got better for people.

I’m still sort of bleeding but I’m one of those people that bleeds a lot anyway (especially when I take hormones like the OCP) so it isn’t unexpected. Weirdly though I got period cramps today though after not having had any for two weeks?

Hoping to go back to work next week. I feel like I’m no longer totally devastated but now am at “being sad is my new normal”.

SureLook · 15/03/2025 07:52

@GreenForestsAndWhiteSnow I'm not too sure about the period cramps. Unless it's things settling back down or possibly ovulation pain?

Only go back to work when you're ready. I was off for nearly four weeks in the end.

2 weeks post medical management and I’ve got a negative pregnancy test. Very bitter sweet. We go again!

SureLook · 18/03/2025 18:39

@Sunshine8537 it is bittersweet getting the negative alright. I was relieved that I didn't have to go back to hospital or anything. Best of luck x

I felt the same.

I just wanted to share that I'm currently 14 weeks pregnant following my MMC in August and then another MC in December.

I've been very quiet about sharing the pregnancy news because it feels so unreal and tentative - I don't want to get too invested in case something goes wrong again. And the last few months have been a total rollercoaster of anxiety and stress. I think I probably need to get my head around the idea that this might actually be happening now though!

SureLook · 23/03/2025 11:29

@InvisibleDragon that is amazing news, congratulations. I can only imagine how anxious you've been feeling. Thanks for coming back and updating the thread with some positive news x

GreenForestsAndWhiteSnow · 23/03/2025 14:08

@InvisibleDragon it’s so nice to hear such wonderful news!

@Sunshine8537 I took a pregnancy test on the same day and also got a negative, totally agree with what you said. It’s really weird.

@SureLook i think the cramps were because there was more tissue to come out - they stopped after I passed a reasonable sized blood clot. So sick of this process but bleeding seems to have finally just about stopped.

I went back to work this week and the first two days were pretty rough, but I’m really glad I did it. It’s weird though, as it feels a bit like the last three months just didn’t happen. Everything is back to the way it was and the whole future I had imagined is gone.

Armdjm · 23/03/2025 14:31

@InvisibleDragon oh I am so so happy for you! That is wonderful news. Wishing you all of the best in your pregnancy!

Wonderful! There is hope for us all. ❤️❤️

SureLook · 23/03/2025 14:54

@GreenForestsAndWhiteSnow it's such a long drawn out process isn't it? Hopefully that's it for you now.
I definitely needed the time I took but any longer wouldn't have been good. I'm better in routine so I was ready to go back. It's good to hear you're glad you went back.
I really relate to what you said about the future you imagined is gone. I found that the hardest part. The minute you find out you're pregnant you instantly start making plans and picturing it. And then it's taken away from you. It's very hard.

Bellebg · 23/03/2025 20:43

@InvisibleDragon such wonderful news. Huge congratulations!! Hope you have a very happy pregnancy ahead of you x

Hey ladies,

just wanted to come back after all the support in Jan/Feb and share that I got a positive test a few days ago after returning from our wedding / honey moon. I thought I was late due to long haul travel but apparently not.. this was our first cycle trying post MMC as it took a while to resolve and needed to allow the one cycle between. I am so nervous, but just keeping busy. I will be about 4+2 and got the 2-3 on digital a few days ago. Trying to keep positive and remember nothing that happens is in my control.

SureLook · 11/04/2025 09:56

@KT199 congratulations, amazing news. Thanks for coming back and updating the thread.

Armdjm · 11/04/2025 12:49

Just wanted to share my news and hopefully give a bit of hope!

I'm currently 10 + 2 days pregnant after having a mmc and a natural miscarriage. My EPAU were lovely and offered scans at 8 weeks and 10 works for reassurance. Now just waiting for my 12 week scan on 22nd April xx
