@MrsMGE That made me laugh! It does just take one super swimmer to get there though 😂😂😂😂 That one was determined!

@MrsMGE 🤣🤣🤣🤣 that will cheer DH up! Michael Phelps!

@Catconfusion good idea! Will try to get things out of the way. I was pretty useless around 6-9 week mark last time

SunStruck · 24/09/2019 08:17

@Kiki061190 🤣 thank you! Yes I will definitely have scans... I couldn't wait until the 12 week mark. If something is wrong I'd rather want to know sooner rather than later so I can take care of it, so I can go back to trying again ASAP... turning 36 next month 😳

MrsMGE · 24/09/2019 08:20

@SunStruck Ahhh, sista! It's my birthday next month too, woooo! Got yourself the best birthday present 😘❤️

SunStruck · 24/09/2019 08:31

@MrsMGE 👯‍♀️👯‍♀️ maybe you too 🤞

bananamonkey · 24/09/2019 09:11

Amazing @SunStruck 🙌 so pleased for you!

MrsMGE · 24/09/2019 13:11

Ahhh @SunStruck I'm thinking about you all day, you must be so chuffed ❤️❤️❤️ Hopefully everything changes for the better now, a new chapter for you, with no more worries ❤️❤️❤️

SunStruck · 24/09/2019 15:40

Thanks @bananamonkey - feels surreal, was so sure I was out! 🤯

@MrsMGE still lots of worry but trying to take 1 day at a time :) can't wait for you to test!

My dr wants me to come in for a hcg blood rest on Thursday and also give more progesterone and baby aspirin, and then I guess it's a long wait until the first scan if nothing happens before that!

Catconfusion · 24/09/2019 16:01

@SunStruck brilliant, so pleased your doctor is seeing you and looking at hcg plus continuing the progesterone/aspirin.

If you felt rough the first time I’d contingency plan for it happening again. It might not but if you’re sensitive to the hormones it could be worse as the hcg will get even higher all being well.

For now just keep busy and I’m sure there will be some joy along the way. Not long until you can have a viability scan. I really hope all is ok! Xx

Kiki061190 · 24/09/2019 17:11

@SunStruck Just amazing news tho! So glad your GP is making sure you are getting the right care. Am I right in saying this will be a June 2020 baby?

@Catconfusion thank you! 🥰 how are you getting on, are you feeling any better? What date is the 12 week scan?

@Kiki061190 I did tell myself to not check the due date this time, but Naturalcycles app that I use put it automatically so I couldn't avoid it 🤣 very early days but it has given me a due date of 6/6/20!

I am definitely not continuing temping this time though, I did last time and it didn't help at all (missed miscarriage, and my temps were high 1 month after I've found out about the mmc so really no help at all).

I'm feeling less nauseous today which instantly has my worrying 😳 I might swing by the pharmacy to pick up 2 tests before work... one for today and one for tomorrow! (Dr wanted me to test tomorrow morning anyway before going in, but I might have to do it today too for peace of mind).

I'm just going to go for this blood test tomorrow, hope all looks okay and then keep myself busy until the 6.5 week scan. DH is going on holiday for 10 days in October (rugbyrelated and planned since long) so we will go when he is back. I'll try to rest, spend time with my pets and get some TLC in the two weekends he's gone 😄

Oh and I'll try to eat as healthy as I can until I can't because of feeling sick. Hopefully the healthy food now counteracts all the beige food I'll be eating later 🤣🤣

@MrsMGE AF due today - are you testing or waiting until tomorrow? I have everything crossed for you that she doesn't show her ugly face!

Catconfusion · 25/09/2019 04:16

Hey @SunStruck yesterday was a tough day. Unfortunately the meds I got prescribed have been recalled in the states due to a contamination scare. The UK haven’t recalled as yet but I’m a bit worried. I tried leaving off the tablet on Monday night and then was really ill yesterday so I’ve had to start taking again. The worry is they are contaminated with a small amount of a cancer causing substance . Apparently even if my batch are affected it’s no more than you’d find in food or the water supply. There’s just nothing else I’ve tried that’s worked.

I think you’re right to stop temping and do a couple more tests before the blood test. Don’t worry about the nausea going. Before 6 weeks it came and went but mainly I felt tired. I’d get the healthy food in while you can. I’m really struggling to eat healthily now. It’s literally whatever I can keep down. I hope the time when your partner is away goes quickly. I found time alone helpful in the beginning to get my head around being pregnant again. Good luck with the testing. Xx

SunStruck · 25/09/2019 05:20

@Catconfusion oh poor you that you're so sick still! Scary about the meds, but it doesn't sound too bad at the end of the day (get cancer from everything nowadays!). Yes, just eat everything you can keep down, eating will get better when you hit 2nd trimester soon ☺️

I bought a clearblue for tomorrow and one cheap one to test now. So I did the cheap one just now before work (not FMU), and like took ages for a faint line to come out. It's faint but definitely there (no squinter) so hopefully it's just less sensitive and that's why. Clearblue tomororw!

Catconfusion · 25/09/2019 05:30

@SunStruck it's just more complications. I'm sure the UK would have withdrawn the drug if it was that serious. I'm pretty desperate to feel better so will keep going with it. It doesn't cross the placenta apparently so baby should be fine. I'm finding I'm getting longer periods of feeling better between bad spells now so hopefully a good sign. I'm 11 plus 2 today and the 12 week scan is the end of next week. It's also our wedding anniversary so I'm hoping it's good news.

I had faint lines on the less sensitive tests at first so don't worry. I'm sure they will darken up. The digital should hopefully be positive in the next couple of days. It's so exciting! Xx

MrsMGE · 25/09/2019 06:41

@Catconfusion that's such an unusual situation, it doesn't happen very often at all. I guess the ultimate question is where your batch had been manufactured, it may well have been manufactured in the EU (where QC is stricter than in the US) under a license. So if it's only the US-manufactured batch that is affected, it won't bear any relevance to you.

@SunStruck Yes, AF due today. I have tested again and it's another BFN. I still do not have any AF symptoms, and instead have been feeling hot (very unusual for me!) and had the heavy feeling around the bottom of my tummy/uterus area, as well a stretchy feeling, feeling bloated and gas (sorry, way too much TMI). To be clear, I felt this way in my first pg, these are not my usual AF or PMS symptoms. So I really don't know. If AF arrives, I'll be gutted with my body, it would mean it's deceived me again. Really trying not to think about it all, but it's getting challenging especially today when AF is due. I got to keep on waiting now, boooo 😕 xxx

Kiki061190 · 25/09/2019 06:44

@SunStruck I had no symptoms for weeks which had me worried. Nausea started about week 6/7 and i have had it on and off since. I go through days of feeling fab and days of feeling rough. Have only been sick 6 times tho. There’s a pregnant woman I work with and she literally had zero symptoms and has just breezed her entire pregnancy. Her tummy is super neat as well!

Also, girls, I don't know if you're planning on celebrating the Baby Loss Awareness Week this year, but I've ordered the pink & blue pins for DH and I and the Wave of Light candle from Sands. They're all lovely to be fair, the pins are good quality and the candle smells fantastic & most importantly, the funds are going to the right cause. Thought I'd share in case you wanted to order yours, the BLAW is soon, 9-15 Oct 2019 Xxx

Catconfusion · 25/09/2019 09:26

Thanks @MrsMGE for the heads up on that. I'm not sure we will do the wave of light. We're trying to be really positive at the moment and although we will never forgot first baby I'm keen to avoid anything too upsetting. It is a lovely idea though and I hope you find it helpful. Xx

MrsMGE · 25/09/2019 09:29

Fair enough. I'm planning on doing it every year xxx

SunStruck · 25/09/2019 12:45

@MrsMGE hopefully she won't turn up! Is it 10 DPO today? Are you usually on time? Sounds great you haven't had any PMS symptoms, this is exactly me this time (as well as last time I got pregnant). I usually get super crampy before my period, I can definitely tell the difference between that and how I feel now (which is more of a pressure/swollenness to my belly). And I'm just super hot all the time which is unlike me 🥵🥵🥵 I'm usually the coldest person in the room!

I haven't heard of that awareness week! I will have a look into it.

@Kiki061190 yes last time I felt amazing until the 6th week, and suddenly felt super nauseous everyday. This time around, I've had the nausea from implantation! But it's not as bad as around my 6-9 week mark last time, but definitely there.

@Catconfusion yes it has darkened actually, so I'm hopeful ☺️ blood rest tomorrow 🤞

Kiki061190 · 25/09/2019 18:03

@SunStruck How did your OH react when you told him? Your GP seems to be giving you great care which is lovely to see. The NHS can sometimes just leave you to it which can be hard...

@MrsMGE I never knew that! Thanks for sharing! I have a little box in my house with two little doves for our lost little ones ♥️ My mum also carries around a little knitted heart in her purse as a reminder.

My scan is in 8 days ladies and I’m nervous. A colleague of mines explained that his wife had 2 previous miscarriages before her healthy pregnancy at just 25! Made me scared for next week 🤢

OP posts:
SunStruck · 26/09/2019 02:21

@Kiki061190 didn't say much at first because he's wary about getting our hopes up last time, but says he is obviously happy! Then asked when the 12 week scan is 🤣

So exciting your and @Catconfusion scan is next week!!!! Will you both be 12 weeks? I know it hasn't for you guys, but it feels like time has flown!

I have a very boozy brunch coming up this weekend as we have 2 friends (a couple) coming to stay over... I will tell them because she is a Dr (neonatal actually) so feel fine saying as she's probably seen this a billion times before (pregnancy after miscarriage). I think she will be good support. And she can help me hide not drinking at brunch 🤣 our friends would definitely clock on otherwise. The old 'on antibiotics' tale will definitely not be convincing in my friendship circle.

Think we're going to a chilled pool club the next day, so my weekend is jam packed to take my mind off things!

What are you ladies up to this weekend?

SunStruck · 26/09/2019 02:22

Oh and did the Clearblue this morning... blazing positive, so hopefully my blood test goes well today 🤞

Catconfusion · 26/09/2019 04:57

That's amazing @SunStruck and an excellent sign. It sounds like a good idea to tell your doctor friend so she can be your pregnancy wing woman. I find it so annoying that we can't just decide not to drink without people jumping to conclusions.

I'm 12 weeks on Monday with the scan at the end of next week. It's then our wedding anniversary next Sunday so I'm hoping everything is ok.

I saw the doctor yesterday and she's put me on a different drug for my tummy. I was really sick yesterday and am feeling pretty awful again. Hopefully as it gets in my system I'll feel better. I just had a cry with DH before he went to work because it's just so debilitating. It's an endless cycle of feeling ill, getting down and then feeling guilty because I should be happy and excited. Then there's the worry something with be wrong and it will all be for nothing. I guess I'm just missing being able to do stuff. I'm currently too ill to go to the shops or go anywhere without DH. I just hope it gets easier soon! Xx

SunStruck · 26/09/2019 05:10

@Catconfusion oh god it sounds so terrible 😢 I also really hope you feel better soon... sooo exciting about 12 weeks next week!! 😍 and happy anniversary ♥️ your first?

Have a moan here, we all got your back and understand! Xxx fingers crossed the drugs will start working soon!
