Hi ladies!

Our previous thread is now full so I’ve made a new one 😘

@SunStruck I did catch second cycle! I wasn’t tracking anything at all, just relaxed and thankfully it happened. It was really quick tho!

@SunStruck 10DPO is on Wednesday for me. I'll hold fire till then. @Kiki061190 Thanks. What I meant is how you've worked out the end date of your LP if AF never arrived - was it the first day you had the BFP? 8DPO is very early for a BFP, goes to show a shorter LP is not an issue for you as it implants itself beforehand. I had a strong positive at 10DPO in my first pregnancy. I'll copy and paste the list of foods good for fertility that I've created having done tons of research in relation to this and examples of meals that DH and I like and are planning to stick to. The same foods are also good in pregnancy (albeit some stuff in moderation, e.g. tinned tuna etc., as I'm sure you'll be well aware of). Xx

MrsMGE · 22/09/2019 09:01

Also @SunStruck I've read a lot online about ladies with shorter LP who didn't have the BFP before 12DPO or even 15DPO so I'd be testing again later if I were you, particularly that you've had treatment this cycle and it may well have extended your LP. Fingers crossed for you ❤️

Catconfusion · 22/09/2019 09:09

@MrsMGE I read something about how if there’s a conception a chemical is given off by the fertilised egg to trigger the lining to thicken more than usual ready for implantation so in theory your usual LP may not matter. I think you’re right, 9 days might just be normal for you when there’s not a conception. Xx

@SunStruck thank you we’re so relieved. Have a lovely anniversary. I would test in a few days. Implantation can be later. With my first pregnancy I got a negative at 10 dpo and a positive at 14 dpo. It may not be over yet. Xx

MrsMGE · 22/09/2019 09:19

@Catconfusion Exactly what I've been wondering about - do our bodies do something to accommodate the fertilised egg en route to implant itself or do things come to an abrupt end just because it would normally be the end of your LP and you just start prepping for AF regardless. Interesting. Xxx

Kiki061190 · 22/09/2019 09:32

@MrsMGE I think your LO can differ each month as O can come at a different cycle day each month. I usually just go off having a 28 day cycle which I’ve always had and work the LP from the day after O until then. Our bodies are so intriguing! I was asking OH last night about how the sex is decided! Does anyone know? I wondered if the sperm carry the gender but was unsure. I think it’s all so facinating!

OP posts:
MrsMGE · 22/09/2019 09:40

@Kiki061190 This is what I will never be able to work out 100% as my cycles vary in length by a few days usually. Anyway! The plan is in place and that's all that matters ❤️ Re your question, yes, I believe it's the sperm that is a decisive factor. I don't know much more though, apart from the fact that it's definitely not dependent on the moon phase 🤣 Xxx

MrsMGE · 22/09/2019 09:48

And here's the fertility/pregnancy diet, any suggestions welcome:

First Pregnancy Missed Miscarriage (Part 4)
SunStruck · 22/09/2019 10:48

@Kiki061190 @MrsMGE yes the sperm will carry either the X or Y chromosome, so it's not decided by us 😄 apparently boy sperm are quicker but live for a shorter period time than girl sperm. So if you've only had sex a few days before O, there's a high chance it's a girl and vice versa!

@MrsMGE I am also following a fertility friendly diet 😄 trying to eat lower carbs, lots of different veg/fruit per day and lots of eggs). Also having full fat Greek yoghurt everyday for a snack, and nuts everyday. I've managed to lose half a stone in 2 months which is great for me as I can't starve myself 🤣

MrsMGE · 22/09/2019 15:14

@SunStruck Sounds perfect! I am going to do the same, together with DH. I found a good website, fertilitykitchen.co.uk, it has dome tasty recipes 😋 I love food a bit too much 🤣 xxx

SunStruck · 23/09/2019 12:28

Hey ladies how are we today? Still no period here but I still have pessaries until Thursday (14 days), so I'm sure period is delayed due to these! If no period by Thursday I'll test again but really, I've read one usually get the period after stopping using the pessaries. I felt under the weather yesterday but did perk up for our dinner 🥰 it was lovely!

@MrsMGE are you testing tomorrow?

MrsMGE · 23/09/2019 12:42

@SunStruck No, Wednesday. In fact might wait till Thursday as I've made an error in calculating DPO, Weds is 9DPO not 10. I've accidentally counted from the day when I had peak fertility not the day after.

Kiki061190 · 23/09/2019 18:40

@SunStruck Ooooh that’s good that they have worked at lengthening your LP. How are you feeling?

@MrsMGE Thursday is almost here! How have you been feeling?

Also ladies I was speaking to a guy I work with today and he mentioned he and his OH have been trying to conceive for a ‘while’ with no luck so far. He doesn’t know I’m preggers but I felt for him because we know what it’s like TTC and seeing negative tests etc. It’s sad sometimes that we don’t discuss these things more as they’re so normal. Was interesting to hear him speaking about it as I often think guys can put on a happy face at times .

Hi @Kiki061190, indeed, almost there. I'm not putting my hopes up, I'm just calm now as I know what I'm doing. I've ordered lots of B-complex from Lloyds Pharmacy which has a reasonable dosage and will see me through the next few months. We're also cracking on with our fertility-friendly diet, first day today and I feel really well and enjoying myself 😊 I'm away with work later this week, so want to make sure I really stick to it now. It just feels like one day it's going to happen, I just don't see a different option tbh, we're doing all we can and who knows, maybe it will help a little bit. I have really busy 3 weeks ahead before I can breathe out. In the meantime, DH and I are planning a weekend away for my birthday next month 😊🎂

How have you been? Are you eating OK now? How's the bump?

Re your colleague, I think it's great he said it openly. I also have a male colleague in the office who talks to us openly about his male infertility and IVF treatment, I'm not in the same team as he is, but we've bonded big time over our experiences. It just helps so much not to be alone with your struggle ❤️

SunStruck · 24/09/2019 02:15

Ok I have some news... I tested this morning and it's BFP - I'm don't even know what to feel, I had a little cry! It's 5 am here and I'm up to go see my PT, my temp was high this morning and it's 12 DPO so I thought I'd just take the last FRER I have just in case.

I've been feeling nauseous for 2 days but put it down to hangover (I was so sure of not being pg I've been drinking with guests here and on anniversary on Sunday). Now I feel so bad about drinking! It was a BFN on Sunday!! A proper BFN.

You guys are the first ones I'm telling... I can't even wake DH up to tell him. We're going out for dinner tonight as it's our guests last night so I'm not sure whether to say to him today or tomororw when it's just us. And I'm shitscared for a chemical. The line is strong though, but you never know do you...

OBVIOUSLY no drinking tonight! This Time around has been completely different than last time (feeling), and I didn't start feeling sick until week 5-6 last time. My BBT chart don't look as good as last time either!

I'm speechless

@MrsMGE fingers crossed for you!!! Xxxxxx

SunStruck · 24/09/2019 02:17

Oh too quick there. I want to thank all you ladies for your support, and hoping this bean will stick, but if not I know this is the best crowd I could be a part of that would understand ❤️

You have all been so amazing.

This implantation must have happened on our anniversary... given the strength of the line but the BFN in the morning that day

Catconfusion · 24/09/2019 05:37

Omg @SunStruck I’m so pleased for you. That’s fantastic news. Don’t worry about the drinking. I read something about how until it’s fully implanted it doesn’t rely on your blood supply. It’s quite common as well to get nausea earlier with a second pregnancy. I’ve got everything crossed this sticks for you. Just keep busy and take each day as it comes. It’s a completely different pregnancy so your chances are very good. It’s a great sign the line is dark at 12 dpo. Quite often with chemicals the line doesn’t get beyond a faint one. Try to celebrate your news with DH. We were a bit too shocked and worried to feel excited and I wish we’d just had faith now it would be ok. Good luck! Xx

SunStruck · 24/09/2019 06:14

Thanks so much for your words @Catconfusion I did tell DH and he barely reacted which was a bit disappointing (but I understand why). He wants to be really careful this time around and not celebrate too early, before we're 'safe'. I completely get that but still. And thanks for being supportive about the drinking. I drank on Sunday when I got the BFN in the morning as I thought not pregnant, and nothing yesterday so fingers crossed hasn't done damage.

@Kiki061190 @MrsMGE yes I think us women talk so much about TTC etc, but men usually don't as much. They must feel it too (pressure, sadness) but still have to (or expected to) remain stoic and comfort us when things go wrong. So it's lovely hearing men talk about this too!

Catconfusion · 24/09/2019 06:29

@SunStruck my DH was similar. He was mowing the lawn at the time. I ran out to tell him. He hugged me and then carried on. He was just too worried to let himself get too invested. It soon changed as we got further in. Now he’s the more positive one. You have to allow yourselves some hope it will be fine. Chances are it will. Just take each day as it comes. It’s particularly hard with mmc because there were no signs. Just focus on those landmarks. You’re nearly 4 weeks so that’s a big one.

With regards to the drinking you did a test and as far as you knew you weren’t pregnant. I’d of thought if it really was that bad you wouldn’t have got a bfp. A strong positive is a good sign it’s progressing normally. Can you get hcg blood tests too? Xx

MrsMGE · 24/09/2019 06:42

Ahhh @SunStruck congratulations, lovely!!! I knew this would be your month! Lovely news ❤️ You need to tell DH once you can catch your breath, it's probably crazy at first before it sinks in a bit! Sit down with your (decaff) coffee and enjoy your morning 😘 Wooo! Xxxxx

You've motivated me to test early 😳 it's a BFN for me, but I will say I've got 2nd/3rd day of diarrhoea despite feeling well and eating well, I don't think it's a virus. Feeling nauseous this morning and no signs of PMS (AF due tomorrow). I'll test again at 10DPO and 12 DPO, unless AF shows her ugly face, but really hoping it won't now! Xxx

SunStruck · 24/09/2019 06:58

@Catconfusion yes let's hope, small wins! 😄 I've emailed my Dr to ask what to do next. I have 2 pessaries left so don't know if I need more after that. I don't have any tests left so not sure if I should buy one for tomorrow or just leave it for a few days. Did you keep testing?

@MrsMGE thanks hun! I gave up at 10 DPO so don't give up just yet 😄 and I promise I didn't even have a squinter, it was just white! Fingers crossed nauseous is good, I didn't have it the first time but do have it now (didn't know about sickness coming earlier second pregnancy like @Catconfusion said!).

Catconfusion · 24/09/2019 07:11

@SunStruck I kept testing between my bfp at 10 dpo and 14 dpo which is when we had an ultrasound (arranged for other reasons). The sac was then seen so I knew it had stuck and didn’t want to become too obsessed with testing. I was happy the lines were getting darker.

Our first ultrasound was at 6 weeks 3 days and the heartbeat was seen. So there were just over two weeks of waiting and knicker watching. I’d get some more progesterone so you can carry on. My doctor has advised me to keep it up until 15 weeks. I so hope this is it for you.

In the meantime just keep busy and prepare just in case the sickness gets worse. I’ve been ill now since 6 weeks and still really struggling. Not to say you will and I hope you don’t but it’s possible. I got things like finances and important jobs done while I felt good so I could relax more. I’ve got a really good feeling about this! Xx

MrsMGE · 24/09/2019 07:27

@SunStruck I told you not to give up! And remember how worried you were that you didn't dtd enough before? Look at the result, IT WAS MICHAEL PHELPS!!! 🙌😂🏊‍♂️

Kiki061190 · 24/09/2019 07:37

OMG @SunStruck CONGRATS! I’m so happy for you ♥️ What wonderful news to kick off the day. I tested the day AF was due after my original test and I think once a week later? I think that was all. Will you have early scans?

@MrsMGE It was so heartwarming to hear him speak about it so openly and he was also so positive. I was rather touched by it! Sounds like you are doing all the right things, your BFP will be soon! I am managing to eat now, still a tiny bit of nausea but I’m over 10 weeks now so it’s easing. I’m just glad to get 3 meals down a day. Bump is still tiny and hard 😂 it’s so odd seeing it but you can’t tell with my suit on at work!

@Catconfusion My OH is also the positive one. He is convinced this baby will be alright and any time we go for a scan he isn’t nervous in the slightest. Men are troopers!
