@SunStruck I've started tracking today, used all three tests, Clearblue, the cheap NHS-style tests and Femometer. I've also downloaded the latter app and I must say, I am loving it! It makes it so easy to track everything, you just upload the photo of the test and it work everything out for you, and it's correct. I am baffled how some people leave bad reviews for these tests, they somehow don't know how to use them (read the leaflet... Hmm).

Anyway, obviously all came back low fertility as it's CD 8, but I'm delighted to say that Femometer was the only one that detected the LH line and it's far from invisible. There might be a super faint line on the NHS one too, but if it is, it's so faint that I'm not actually sure if it exists, depends on the angle.

So pleased with Femometer because I'm holding on to good news that LH has been detected and hopefully because the test is very sensitive, it will make it easier to track the results later on in the cycle 😊👌

I've also realised that my surge will probably fall after the 10 Clearblue tests... I had to start tracking today as they say to start on day 8 of your shortest cycle within the last 6 months if you're irregular (my shortest was 28, but then I'm usually more like 30-32-34). No idea what to do, whether to bother with buying another pack and use the same holder, or start afresh next week???

How are you doing? Xxx

bananamonkey · 29/08/2019 11:07

Hi @MrsMGE I had the same thing, I think you have to use the same holder throughout as it detects the changes from when you start testing. Fertility Friend is a great app as well, I used the Femometer app to get the temps but input them to the FF app and you get nicer graphs.

@MrsMGE So organised! Do you know when you usually ovulate? So excited for you this month. Let’s get that BFP! I had an emergency scan today as I’ve been having some pain and saw the baby and a heartbeat which is good! Not out the woodwork yet but it’s a start ♥️

MrsMGE · 29/08/2019 14:04

Thanks @bananamonkey! I'm not a pro yet, I'm hoping one app will suffice for now and hopefully the BFP mission will succeed this month! If not, I'm going to download FF and not sure what else, I guess keep trying till the end of the year! How are you doing? Everything OK? How are you feeling?

@Kiki061190 Oh, lovely! Bless you! The whole thing must have been so stressful for you, first the pains and then the scan which I know you didn't want to have early on! I'd be so, so anxious if I was you, really feel for you. I'm still adamant I won't have any early scans, but of course sometimes they are necessary. I'm so happy for you ❤️❤️❤️ I have a good feeling about your pregnancy, I know it's hard to feel confident, but at least we're all keeping our fingers crossed for you and the best you can do is to put all the worries to one side and keep going. You're doing so well ❤️ I really believe everything will be OK. And the little heartbeat, the sweetest sound! Hope it keeps getting louder and stronger for you ❤️ Now relax, it must have been a huge adrenaline spike for you! Xxx

bananamonkey · 29/08/2019 16:23

Good plan @MrsMGE I found the clear blue a little strange as I got 9 days of flashing smileys one cycle but the next 2 it went down to 4 then 2. Weird! But they did match up exactly with temps and CM. I’m ok, was sick this morning but think it was just nausea combined with taking a vitamin on an empty stomach. I know it sounds horribly depressing but I can’t help but feel that a line on a test and pregnancy symptoms don’t actually mean anything. Either I was naive before or the MMC makes you see things so negatively, I’m thinking the latter, it takes you to a dark place. Looking forward to my holiday next week and some distraction!

Hope you’re doing ok x

Kiki061190 · 29/08/2019 18:48

@MrsMGE It was crazy! I was so so nervous. Didn’t need an internal scan which was fab. Hate those things! How are you feeling about TTC this month? Do you know what day you usually O? My OH and I dtd every 2nd day of my fertile window this time and it worked wonders!

OP posts:
MrsMGE · 30/08/2019 17:50

@bananamonkey I know exactly what you mean. I actually don't think I'll be able to fully acknowledge my second pregnancy until I actually deliver a healthy baby, I am pretty sure I'll be in denial tbh. I think it might be our way of protecting ourselves after what we've been through. I'd like to be excited about my next pregnancy, but I think I will naturally reign it in a bit, because we all know too well that the risk is there, and it's no longer that invisible crowd that it's happened to, it's us. I still would like to get mentally to that place when I feel happy about being pregnant again though, without building up expectations, if that's even possible. Just be happy that I am pregnant again and be happy that I'm still pregnant every single day, you know. Ultimately, it's a good reason to be happy, isn't it?

@Kiki061190 I bet it was stressful! How are you now? Are you off to Italy soon? I can't wait to start trying again, I'm now ready for this, counting down really! Definitely planning to dtd every other day.

@SunStruck How are you doing? Did you have the scan? How are the follicles doing (don't think I've ever asked anyone this question, but I do really care about your follicles! 😁)

What's everyone up to this weekend? Xxx

Kiki061190 · 30/08/2019 18:36

@MrsMGE I’m good! Finished up today for a fortnight off from work! Head to Italy a week today and can not wait. OH and I defo need some sun and relaxation. Have you started dtd every other day yet?

OP posts:
MrsMGE · 31/08/2019 08:23

@Kiki061190 Amazing! Are you just planning on relaxing a bit in the first week and then off to Sorrento? Definitely, sun and relaxation sound perfect ❤️

Well, I am very surprised I must say. I've had a flashing smiley on Clearblue Advanced Ovulation Digital test this morning (CD 10) which I did not expect considering my usual cycle length is anything between 30-35 days, usually an even number, 30-32-34. Thus seems very early on. Clearblue leaflet specifically says to test first urine in the morning, which is what I've done. It's the dual estrogen & LH test. I have also used the other LH-only tests and they still seem to show low fertility, the second line is faint. This may be because apparently these should be used later on in the day, but frankly I had no patience to take two urine samples per day, so this is where the discrepancy may come from. I'll dtd tonight and continue every other day, for a while.

I've now started thinking that maybe I ovulate a lot earlier in the cycle than I thought and maybe I had my pg dates completely wrong too, by the looks of things I may have been 2 weeks further along (but of course the baby died early anyway and it went undetected till my second early scan). I really don't know now.

Is it possible to have more than one estrogen surge within one cycle (as this is what Clearblue indicates as High Fertility with a flashing smiley, whereas LH surge would be a steady smiley)?

This whole tracking business is giving me a massive headache, I knew it wasn't for me! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

Xxx

Kiki061190 · 31/08/2019 12:10

@MrsMGE Ooooh yes to the flashy! That helps pick up your fertile window. Just dtd every 2 days from now and you will be more then covered! Definitely relaxing the first week and then packing. I think you can get 2 surges! Sometimes people get 2 surges releasing 2 eggs.

OP posts:
MrsMGE · 31/08/2019 23:11

@Kiki061190 I'm on the case! Just paranoid now I might get another UTI, but hopefully not again! Ooh, is this when you conceive twins that are not actually twins as they've been conceived on different dates (are they called fraternal twins??)?

Kiki061190 · 01/09/2019 09:29

@MrsMGE Yes! I convinced identical twins in my last pregnancy, so the egg split in two when it was fertilised. It’s so hard to know what’s going on down there! Fraternal I think the eggs are released a day or two apart. I’m officially worried! My symptoms have completely stopped these past two days and last time this happened the babies had stopped growing so I’m so worried 😖

SunStruck · 01/09/2019 15:47

@MrsMGE hahaha thanks for caring about my follicles! 😄😄🤗 nothing had grown yet when I went for the scan, but the dr told me to go back tomorrow and we should then see it! We have had a long weekend here, so still off today which is lovely. Had a great brunch date with DH on Friday, lovely Greek food and super blush rose wine! What have you been up to this weekend?

Oh I know this tracking malarkey is a pain in the ass, but at least we feel like we're doing something to get pregnant rather than shooting in the dark 🤣 hopefully we both ovulate next week 🤞

@Kiki061190 how are you getting on? Sorry to hear you've been feeling sick! Hopefully it means a very healthy pregnancy 😁

@Catconfusion how are you getting on? Xx hopefully not as sick as before?

Kiki061190 · 01/09/2019 18:55

@SunStruck Greek food sounds lush! Here’s to your follicles! ♥️ All nausea has gone now which has me freaking out but there’s nothing I can do so just trying to keep busy!

OP posts:
MrsMGE · 01/09/2019 19:30

Awww @Kiki061190 I'm sorry lovely, I can understand how it must be stressing you out. You know full well it may be completely harmless, some days we feel pregnant, some dates not do much. But I'd be the same as you. Do you want to get this checked via another early scan?

@SunStruck Hello! You've been missed! I am feeling a bit deserted on this thread, I'll be honest! 🤣 Glad you had a good weekend, rose sounds good to me! I also had a good weekend, very active, I feel better for it. I've had another flashing smiley today, so DH better get ready! 🤣💪 Xxx

MrsMGE · 01/09/2019 19:34

Forgot to mention, DH and I managed to squeeze in another date night last night, an evening with a bit of Tarantino - we went to see "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood". I love Tarantino and really enjoyed it, I also have a thing for Leonardo DiCaprio 😍 xxx

Kiki061190 · 01/09/2019 19:47

@MrsMGE I went to see that last night too! Wasn’t it just fabulous? I don’t know about another scan.... I’ll see how I am when I come back from my holiday. Going to try and hold out until 12 weeks!

OP posts:
MrsMGE · 01/09/2019 20:04

@Kiki061190 No way!! Great minds think alike 👌❤️ I loved it, so much attention to detail, great humour and most importantly, the glamour and grandeur of the old Hollywood, just brilliant. Leo on form too, definitely, that moment when he speaks to the neighbour and says "Oh, I torched the third one!" had me in stitches 😂

I think that's probably a good idea, as you know, my approach is the same as yours. The reality is, it's most likely nothing to worry about and you shouldn't worry as long as you're feeling well. Whatever happens, scans don't change the outcome and the thought of them is making me anxious tbh. I'll be telling myself that as long as I don't know otherwise, everything is fine. You know this is a different pregnancy, and you also know that having or not having symptoms really isn't an indication. I know losing them was a bad sign in your first pregnancy, but equally, look at all our stories on here, no two pregnancies are the same, some of us had symtomps, some of us haven't, and yet all of us have been through MC. This time it might be a completely innocent thing, which I'm sure it is. You have to stay positive ❤️ xxx

Kiki061190 · 01/09/2019 20:12

@MrsMGE The ending had me in stitches! I know the 7 week scan had me shaking before I went in I was that nervous. You’re absolutely right, it does not change the outcome! How are you feeling about TTC this month?

OP posts:
MrsMGE · 01/09/2019 20:21

@Kiki061190 Honestly? Very excited. Surprisingly calm, I look forward to having another BFP. I'm not anxious about it, weirdly. I can't wait. The only thing I'm anxious about is if it doesn't happen for me again, to be completely honest, I think I'd be devastated because I'm so eager to start the journey again. But I know it might take some time and that's perfectly normal, so I'm trying to reign myself in, but it's not going very well!

I really think everything will be OK for you, you've had something to worry about recently with all the pains (which is a scary thing, no doubt) and everything was fine, I have faith it will also be fine now. Sometimes in pregnancy there are days when we simply feel a bit lighter/better/more "normal", and I really think you've just been having a couple of those ❤️ xxx

Kiki061190 · 01/09/2019 20:39

@MrsMGE I’m excited to see your BFP! You and @SunStruck will have them before you know it. It took me 2 months after mmc to get mines and i couldn’t believe it! It is great that you’re so excited, that is the best attitude to have. Will you test early or wait until AF is due?

OP posts:
MrsMGE · 01/09/2019 20:43

@Kiki061190 I think I'll test around CD30 because this is around my usual cycle length, my longest cycle is 35 days and I can see from the most recent AF that it's going back to normal after the MC, so there's a good chance a FRER may pick it up on CD30. I'm so impatient now, literally I'd like to know now! It's crazy 😂

Kiki061190 · 01/09/2019 21:33

@MrsMGE I wish there was a way to know after you’ve ovulated if you’ve conceived. The tww is absolute torture! CD30 sounds like a good idea. Are you day 9/10 just now?

OP posts:
MrsMGE · 01/09/2019 21:37

I know, @Kiki061190, I wish so too! I'm CD11 now 😊

SunStruck · 02/09/2019 04:46

@MrsMGE oh nice weekend! 🥰 I'm on CD 12 now, you too right?! We're twinning it! I'll see what my follicles are up to today afternoon haha, hopefully ovulating this week!

@Kiki061190 thanks for rooting for me and @MrsMGE, always nice with support from people whom have been through the same thing! I agree with @MrsMGE, I think what I'm scared of is that it was all a fluke to get pregnant so quickly last time and that it will be really difficult 😟 I have polycystic ovaries (but not the syndrome as I've been tested for hormones) so this could mean my egg quality is not as good as people without PCO. I'm also 36 soon, so time is not on my side either 🙄

But fingers crossed...
