Pregnancy after D&C

Hi everyone,

I am just wondering when any of you lovely ladies got caught pregnant after your D and C? I had mine back in May and I’ve had 1 period so far, I’m due on this Wednesday (10th July) I’m really hoping I don’t but I’m getting all the signs that I will.

I can’t bare to see another negative test and would love to hear some positive ones!

@VenusStarr hey hi Hun all good here, sorry for radio silence - we have PILs over so have been very busy! Bleeding has just stopped and temps right down, I'm feeling good ;) will Start the cycle of TTC again when I ovulate next! When did you girls get BFN after early mc? And when did you ovulate again? Have you got your results back yet from the tests? Xxx and when is the surgery? Sounds great you can TTC after the surgery, and overwhelming Chance for a good outcome this time!

@Elles1980 hey hun I'm sorry to hear you're feeling so shit. You are not moaning, this is a great and safe place to vent! So you're also going for the surgery? When is it? I think it's great something is being done... if I have another mc I want to find out what wrong to fix it so I'm hopefully more relaxed next time TTC. I know it's scary though 😔 handhold xxx

@LASandOtto thanks for your wishes! How are you getting on? I'm hoping I can try again ASAP. I know they would offer me testing here already now if I wanted to but I've just decided against it and hoping it was flukes. I am a bit older at 36 so I guess it was never meant to be easy. I have already got the hormone testing done before even starting to try TTC and everything was normal, so I'll give it one more shot! My TSH level was 0.44.

The only thing I have is polycycstic ovaries, but I don't have the syndrome (hormones all fine and ovulating every month albeit late in the month). So fingers crossed....

Where are you at in your cycle? Baby dust to all of us ❤️

So so pleased you're well and you seem to have dealt with it all so well and bravely. Happy to hear you're feeling fine and that you're going to TTC again when you're ready. I think I'm having a funny cycle after this MC, started checking on OPKs to see what's going on and been on flashing smiley for about 5 days now or so. Curious to see if I will ovulate or not, but anyway; we are taking it chilled for now and we will see what happens. No pressure this month, I want to just enjoy myself!

Sooooo I woke up this morning no bleeding wahoooo 🎉🎉, then I thought oh my god I'm pregnant (only 8dpo) so half asleep did a test (stupid I know), but there are 2 lines. It's very faint and hard to pick up so I did that image thing like a crazy bitch and can see it a little clearer but still only faint. IV been all over the house in every room checking different light but it's there 😱, this rollercoaster is bigger than the one in Blackpool 🤯 xxx

@VenusStarr super exciting that soon you'll be able to carry on with lots of knowledge as to what's been going on with you. As for me I guess I'll have to test again in a couple of days to see if the line gets darker before I contact the hospital RG the hysteroscopy 🤷🏻‍♀️! For today I'm taking my little ladies out shopping and for tea (no school today so we all have the day off 🥰). I hope you ladies have a fab day xxx

@LASandOtto don't worry it can be like this after mc, after my mmc and then d&c I had flashing smileys for 9 days before solid.... and lots of other women too. Hormones a bit all over the place after mc! Hope it will be shorter for you though as you had a natural mc xx

Good to hear from you @SunStruck, glad you're feeling so positive. My negative with my first was about 2.5 weeks later. I didn't test this time round. Pleased to hear you're ready to continue :)

@LASandOtto the chilled approach sounds like a good plan. I've definitely felt better not tracking things (although I do still think about when we can ttc again)

My period arrived this morning. It's really bloody painful 😢 on the one hand I'm pleased my cycle has settled again quickly but my god, before I miscarried the first time, my periods were a none event but they've definitely changed since miscarriage.

It's our first due date on Saturday, feeling OK about it at the moment. We're going to a fireworks 🎇 display on Friday with my niece and nephew then off for a spa and dinner over the weekend xx

@VenusStarr yes I'm 9dpo today and the test is exactly the same as yesterday, sometimes I look and I can see it other times I'm like....can I see it or am I imagining it 🤣! Had it confirmed by my best friend that it's there but it's very faint, I believe there called squinters here on Mumsnet lol!!
@SunStruck and @LASandOtto the resillance in you 3 ladies astounds me, I'm a little bit in awe but you ladies keep me strong from afar. I'd never open up so much to my friends because I'm the jokey, everything will always be ok one. I think for me to say I'm feeling shit or scared would rock the ground they stand on!! This TTC malarkey is one tough journey! I don't think I'll test again until Sunday (literally laughed in my own head at that haha), no Thursday earliest to see if it gets darker 😬, if not the trick and treaters are in for a fun evening hahaha!! I'm due af on Sunday so I hope it stays away and the lines get darker but after chemical in August I'll brace myself for the worst and it'll only get better, but if not I'm having the hysteroscopy on the 12th anyways so it's all good! This is exciting stuff, AND we got our offer accepted. I declare today is a great day 😊!So whilst I won't be holding a baby in my arms (yet) I'll now be holding keys to new digs in a few months, wooohoooo!

@VenusStarr hey, I'm thinking of you. How are you holding up? I saw in another thread it's your due date soon and that it's affecting you. I'm here for a hand hold, I do understand. My due date is in December, it's difficult ❤️ I also have fur babies (2 cats) and they are giving me great comfort when I'm sad too. Let's rejoice about that we have the best cats in the universe, and our rainbow babies will have the best fur siblings ☺️☺️☺️

@SunStruck oh my days that's sooo exciting 😬, well I did another test this morning and expected to see a very dark line but sadly not! There's still a line but a very faint one just the teeniest bit darker and I have some light pink cm this morning also so I'm sure I know where it's headed 🙄! I'm ok though!
Living abroad, maybe we should have a room at yours haha!! Please let us know how you get on tomorrow.
Venus, I know how you feel my due date would have been Christmas day and I fear if I'm not pregnant it may just hit me right in the feels, so I totally understand the struggle. We were just approaching the "safe zone" 12 weeks and had our scan appointment waiting when I got discharged from hospital, it is a little soul destroying.

@SunStruck in N4 and I am N7 at the moment. I used to live in that neck of the woods but when I met DH he had some sort of phobia about crossing the river, it's so ridiculous if he hadn't been so good looking I'd not have bothered to get to know him further 😂😂. We could have actually met up but I see you're abroad (nice!!) - whereabouts??

@Elles1980 keep us posted I am honestly crossing toes, fingers and bum cheeks together to hope this one is your rainbow!!! I was on the solid smileys yesterday and today, CD19 today if I couldn't miscarriage as CD1. We DTD which was great fun, I don't know why but I thought after two MCs it may start to get a bit strained in that department but actually quite the opposite!!

@bbh1978 I'm not sure if you've read much of this thread... I'll not speak for the other ladies ( there just the same as me really) but it's a bit mental .. I mean me I'm mental lol! TTC has made me slightly more evil than I used to be, I mean I'd never hurt a fly (I would I do it every summer) bit I do have thoughts, that I and the other ladies find amusing lol! I have to say these ladies have gotten me through a rough patch and I fear there more to come, it's nice i can be so open with people who actually understand the feelings that come with loss/TTC and generally being a bloody woman 🙄!! This is the first time iv ever used a forum and never knew what to expect, it took me a wee while to feel brave enough to comment on any post. Glad I did though! I'm almost 40 so have everyone telling me about the old clock ticking.... Have started to reply by saying I'm gonna take that click and ram it up yer arse if you say that again. Loads and loads of ladies have babies 35+ now it's not the dark ages 🤦🏻‍♀️!! In saying that I'm not the fertile old thing I used to be haha (won't be telling them that) IV had 4 children and 2 eptopics. This year I had a MC in may and a chemical in August, but I'm a glutten for punishment and would love one more with my new partner (he has none). So continue I shall!! Xxx

@Elles1980 hehe Yes I can totally follow what you mean, I am even "older" 41 😜 and I have a 15 year old son (will be 16 soon). Have listen to my friends for the past years talking about the "older" woman having kids, that it was too old etc etc.... and I have been sitting there just wishing I was one of those "older moms" :) maybe now it can truly happen.

We have ttc for 15 years and nothing has ever happened... and now suddenly, I have lost alot of weight and my doctor put me on extra D-vitamin this summer and suddenly, I was pg? We where both in shock (a good shock 😉) - since we where not trying or anything, but in the "old" age and propably due to the weightloss my drive went to through the roof, which made my spouse very happy 😝 and me of course.. so actually we had given up on a sibling and just accepted it and were not ttc anymore - but than suddenly it just worked, very strange... but unfortunatly I lost it in week 8 - but after the miscarriage, i again really want a baby (it woke up some dreams in me) - but we would like to do the same as before (it was alot more fun and relaxing) than always looking at when/date/time etc... so my plan is to continue to take folicacid+vitamin D, keep the weight of and be healthy with a lot of "bed-gymnastic" 😅 (but I am going to see if I can figure out when I am ovulating, buy some sticks, (online though, since I live in very very small place where people talk ALOT 🙈) - and then cross my fingers that we still can concive, i would belive so, since it just worked 8 weeks ago🤞🏻😊
