Hi all - so, with kbear's blessing , I'm starting a new thread for all of us to organize meetups. Why don't we try a picnic again in one or two weeks time on Tuesday the 9th or 16th near the Maritime Museum? Let's do around noon... So, let me know which date is better and we'll go with the majority. I was so sad that yesterday didn't work out!!

Well, if anyone wants to carpool to the christmas thing let me know - I don't fancy taking the train late at night either...

Longlegs - we'll definitely plan an afternoon get-together so you can come along this next time.

Dropinthe · 29/09/2005 14:18

I'm definitely going to the Big one so anyone wanting to go can get the last train home with me!

KBear · 29/09/2005 15:48

How about we have our own mini Christmas bash? I didn't fancy the big bash either. Who likes Indian food? Anyone fancy it?

mummylonglegs · 29/09/2005 18:43

Norash, Littlelegs is fine thanks!

I quite like my new name of Longlegs, makes me feel kind of glam ...

Yes, Jen, do do an afternoon thing, well, I'll keep my eyes open.

And yes, I'd love a mini Christmas alternative! We'll have to rely on drop to give us all the gossip from the big one.

jenweber630 · 29/09/2005 23:03

Sounds good drop - I'll do that if I indeed end up going. And yes Kbear - let's do an indian dinner evening - maybe a bit closer to Christmas? Say, after we return from Mitchell's American birthday bash tour?? (Should be around the 11th of December.)

Hi eveyone,

I am as tired as a donkey! If that is what they say. Kieran has a stinking cold and has not slept all night, which also means that I haven't slept either .

Sorry Jen I might not make it today, but incase I do what time is it going on till?

And I am also down for a mini xmas meal, I think Jen and Drop can act as our eyes at the main one and report back to HQ

Norash · 30/09/2005 07:50

Oh and does anyone know if Beachy is ok. What happened to Slug, Xena and Toomanypushchairs?

tex111 · 30/09/2005 10:25

Terrible night with DS. He had croup and woke up still with a raspy cough so we're off to the docs today. Afraid I'm missing the meet-up. Hope to make the next one.

jenweber630 · 30/09/2005 14:36

Hi - slug is around but I know she only has Tuesdays off so hasn't been able to make any of our meetups... Karen mentioned that she saw a post from beachy - I know she had her baby the day a few of us got together for a picnic at the bottom of Greenwich park... Toomanypushchairs is coming to the christmas to-do in London... I don't know about Zena...

We missed you tex and norash - drop, hoges, and I had a nice morning though. Buenos Aires is a great place for coffee and a pastry or sandwich - I highly recommend it. Hope you all have fun weekend plans!

Coldtea-have made my mind up that,if ok,I am going to take advantage of your friends offer.I will therefore CAT you with my email address so we can exchange details. Cheers for your help.

BTW-still can't place where I have seen you before! So bloody frustrating!

KBear · 30/09/2005 19:51

I think Beachy's post was on the City meet-up thread.

Glad you all had a nice coffee morning. I had the busiest day of my life at work today and am in a state of collapse now! Luckily my lovely mum made me dinner! You know it's busy when you don't log on to MN in the day ha ha!

I'm going to start a new thread about going out for a curry sometime before Christmas.

Anyone got a recommnedation for a curry house?

tigermoth · 01/10/2005 07:48

dropinthe, you must live nearish to me then - I'm in Plumstead, too. A while ago another mumsnetter - andif - said she lived in Plumstead, too.

Hope to meet those of you who are going to the big meetup They are fun, honest, and worth the journey!

Dropinthe · 03/10/2005 08:27

Three mumsnetters in Plumstead? There will be a Costa Cofee here soon,I swear! Always knew the area would go up in value one day

I'm in Parkdale road next to Lakedale but at the top end near the common!

What about you?

tigermoth · 03/10/2005 09:24

HI there, I'm the other side of the common, a few streets behind the co op. I did wonder if you and 'andif' were the same person, but obvioulsly not. It would be so good to have a decent cafe around here - I have heard that some sort of italian eating place will be opening in the ground floor of 'The Ship' once it is finished. Mind you, italian eating place could mean another takeaway pizza parlour, so I am not holding my breath!

What a small world, batters, as they say. As an aside, did you know that The Ship was what the first ever Arsenal football team used as their changing rooms - they played football on Plumstead common.

Tigermoth-due you fancy a meet up in the playground at the Slade one afternoon if the weathers nice?-could sit outside Belly Busters and drink hot tea and cakes?

Would be a cheap meet?

Of course, any one else welcome? I din't catch how many children you had?

Dropinthe · 03/10/2005 17:38

NB-Always wondered why they didn't turn The Ship into a JD Wetherspoon pub-would do a roaring trade I reckon!

Dropinthepotion · 03/10/2005 18:37

K Bear-spotted your name on a thread!

That was a great reminisce we had the other night,eh? Would love to go for a boogie with you after Crimbo,perhaps?-think there would be a few of us old 80/90's girls up for it!

Yeah, I would love to Drop. Gotta find a good place though - will have a think. You were so funny on Friday night!

And tigermoth, batters etc - you coming to the South East Curry meet-up - see the other thread I started.

Also Xena, toomanypushchairs, Mummylonglegs - you coming?

Dropinthepotion · 03/10/2005 18:45

Wonder what De Ja Vu is like these days?-have always wanted to go back there just the once for old times sake!

Either that or Southsides!!!!!Wonder if still there and still as cheap? Doubt it but what a craic we'd have,eh?

tigermoth · 04/10/2005 09:20

dropinthe - I'd be up for a Slade meetup - my youngest son has just turned six so I'll bring him along. My other son is age 11.

I'll keep my eye on the curry thread - am very tempted to say yes, but don't know if I am free yet.

bran · 04/10/2005 13:04

Hey JenWeber. Are we supposed to be meeting this afternoon or is it Thursday? I meant to keep an eye out for you this morning, but I was so frazzled I forgot. Music class was hell this morning, they had loads of trial people and whoever booked them in didn't notice there were 2 sets of twins, so all in all there were 16 children. [frazzled emoticon]

I'll also do a shout for you on chat.
