Hi all - so, with kbear's blessing , I'm starting a new thread for all of us to organize meetups. Why don't we try a picnic again in one or two weeks time on Tuesday the 9th or 16th near the Maritime Museum? Let's do around noon... So, let me know which date is better and we'll go with the majority. I was so sad that yesterday didn't work out!!

Well - since no one has responded let's plan for the original plan of near the anchors infront of the Maritime Museum at around noon (I'll be a bit late). Is anyone planning on going for sure??

bran · 14/08/2005 20:46

Yes, I am definitely going. If you're going to be a bit late shall we make it 12.15 and then I won't have to sit around on my own for too long.

blackheathmummy · 15/08/2005 09:29

Hi everyone
I am a new mum to 10 week old Harrison and have recently moved into Blackheath (just discovered mumsnet, how fantastic). I'm keen to meet other mummys in the area so was really pleased when I discovered this thread! Are the meet-ups open to everyone? ... Just feel a little bad muscling in when I haven't been an active contributor before now!

bran · 15/08/2005 09:36

Yes blackheathmummy please do come along you would be very welcome, I don't think many of us have met each other anyway. I haven't met anyone from mumsnet before and it will be interesting to put some faces to names.

Who else is still coming? I am going to be extra careful of my back tomorrow so that I don't miss the meetup like I did last time.

jenweber630 · 15/08/2005 12:25

Ok - then we're on for tomorrow. I'll be there around 12:30 - I look forward to seeing all of you! Definitely come blackheathmummy - we've only met up once all together and we're always able to add more. I look forward to seeing you tiny baby!

blackheathmummy · 15/08/2005 17:56

Thanks bran and JW, will try and make it tomorrow - have an appointment at 11am but should be there by 12.30 all things going to plan... might help me feel half human again to be around some other mums! Will ask baby to be on best behaviour

jenweber630 · 15/08/2005 20:45

If you don't make it, feel free to CAT me - I'm in blackheath as well and would be happy to meet up for lunch in the village or something.

Just so you know what you're looking for I'm wearing jeans, trainers and a dark blue t-shirt. I'll be pushing a blue 3-wheeler. Off to Gymboree now, see you later.

jenweber630 · 16/08/2005 11:06

I'm wearing a black tank-top and tan shorts and have a blue mothercare pram - hope to see you all at 12:30!

It was fun seeing you bran and blackheathmummy! Why don't we try for another meetup on the 19th of September? (We'll plan early so we can get as many people as possible!) Let me know what days are best - the only day out for us is Thursday.

bran · 16/08/2005 16:09

It was fab to meet you and B'heathMummy too, Jen, I had a great time even if I only managed to join the conversation for one in every 3 sentences because I had to chase after ds. Any day is fine with me for a September meet up, hopefully the weather will still be good it was lovely eating lunch outside today.

Blessed1 · 16/08/2005 16:57

Hi,

Just moved to Bromley south and have a 5 year old boy. Would like to meet other mums. I work part-time and have to juggle but interested in just getting children together of same age and having a chat.

Beabea · 17/08/2005 10:08

Hello

I live in Croydon, on the Bromley side. I too would like to meet other mums. I shall be going back to work soon so my days will be restricted to Mon, Tue and Wed. I have a 11month daughter and one on the way. Not sure I can do 19th Sept as DH is off that week. Hope to chat soon :-)

bunna · 17/08/2005 10:40

Hi all
I have recently moved back to Blackheath with my dp and 9 month old dd. We moved away when I was 7 months pregnant as our flat was being renovated and it took a lot longer than anticipated! Feels a little odd to be back but with my life so changed. Would love to meet some other local mums, will keep 19 Sept free and keep an eye on this thread. Sorry to have missed out on the meet up yesterday, I only joined mumsnet on monday eve and there wasn't time to send a message! And it was such a lovely day for a picnic. I have to find a new GP, if anybody can recommend someone in the area in particular I'd really appreciate the advice.

jenweber630 · 17/08/2005 10:57

We go to Morden Hill Surgery in Lewisham and the doctors, nurses, and health visitors are wonderful! The baby clinic is every Thursday afternoon... Sorry you missed yesterday - my ds is 8 months and it would be great to meet someone else with a baby of the same age! Also - there is a mum/baby group at the church on the heath that is on Friday mornings at 9:30 which is starting up again second week of September I think... Hope this is all helpful!

Just a quick note to JW and bran to say thanks for a lovely lunch yesterday, was so nice to talk to some other mummies and your boys are so gorgeous. Went to the park again today to make the most of the sunshine, long live this weather! Look forward to the next meet ... bunna you should definately come along and on a side note, I can recommend Morden Hill Clinic too, they are excellent (the third I went to in this area, finally happy!) ... BHM

bunna · 20/08/2005 12:21

Thanks for the recommendations, I really appreciate it. I'll have to give them a call, I'm not sure if we would fall into their area as we are in Greenwich borough (Westcombe Park). Out of interest, what other doctors did you try BHM? I really like and trust my current doctor and have great health visitors so it feels like quite a big deal to move away from them, but I'll have to do it as it is too far away now. Jen - my little angel will just turn 9 months this weekend, it would be lovely to meet a local mum with a baby of similar age. Is your ds crawling yet? My dd is trying so hard, she can get herself around pretty well but isn't quite crawling properly yet, the day that happens I just know I will be spending the next few years chasing after her, she is into everything she can get her hands on!

KBear · 22/08/2005 20:56

So when's the next one Jen?

jenweber630 · 23/08/2005 22:48

Not crawling yet - but he's into standing and sitting. I have a feeling that he's going to end up going straight to walking - but we'll see I guess.

I was thinking maybe the third week in September for a meet-up so those with school-age kiddos can get back into a routine. So - what day of the week works for everyone?? Anyone have ideas for a good place for a fall meet-up??

Bunna My mum belongs to the surgery on Kidbrooke Park Road {sorry don't know the actual name of it} but know she ishappy with it.

KBear · 24/08/2005 10:13

Mondays and Tuesdays work best for me because I have to work alternate Wed and every Thur and Fri. Are there any soft play places in Greenwich/Blackheath. I know there is one at the Waterfront in Woolwich but I've never been there.

Xena · 25/08/2005 12:27

Rascals at the waterfront is good for 0-6years not to expensive either.

Xena · 25/08/2005 12:27

What happened to mummylonglegs?

jenweber630 · 25/08/2005 18:49

I was wondering the same thing...
