Hi I am 33 years young and live in Copthorne near Crawley, West Sussex and looking to chat to other mums/mums to be in the Surrey/Sussex area and maybe arrange a meet up sometime. I used to be on the Redhill or nearish thread but that seemed to die a sudden death so thought I would start a new one.

I have a daughter of 17 months and am expecting another girl in October.

I can do lunch on 12th. Perhaps a quick sandwich in Starbucks on Reigate High Street?

Firewalker · 27/11/2007 14:58

Mary, I do feel for you, it must be awful having a house full of lurgies. Thankfully we've managed to dodge them all. Rhianna has avoided all the coughs and colds going round her nursery somehow. I don't know how she does it (I'm just glad she does)!

Great re 12th Dec though. It will be nice to see you both before Christmas. I'll leave it to you decide where you want to go as you'll have the children and I'll fall in with whatever you'd like to do. So long as I have food - I don't mind where I go!!

Amanda - re Thursday. I'm happy to meet up if you'd still like to. I'll wait till you've seen DDF and look on here tomorrow to see what you have decided.

funnytype · 27/11/2007 20:20

Hi Everyone,

Sorry havent posted on here lately, my girls havent been well either Sophia had a bad cough and Isabella has been ill all day today with a cough and off her food and she was sick this evening and I feel like I might be coming down with something too. Should be ok for Thursday if it is still on if I dont get this bug.

Oh Steph - I'm sorry to read about Isabella and Sophia. i hope you don't get the bug.

As far as I know it's still on for tomorrow. Do you know Caterham? Just waiting to hear from Amanda really as it looks like it's going to be Pizza Express. Do you know where that is?

Also, I'm meeting Helena and Mary for lunch on 12th Dec in Reigate. Don't know if you could make that?

Well, I managed to express some milk yesterday so if I can express some more today, I think I might yet make it out tomorrow night. Dh is encouraging me to go as I've only had one night away from the children since Joseph was born. I will check the board tomorrow for details and hopefully see you there. I might have to leave early though as I have to be in bed by about 10 pm at the moment or I really suffer the next day... Fingers crossed I will see you all tomorrow night!

Firewalker · 28/11/2007 12:08

Helena - great news, it will be brilliant if you are able to come along.

I'm sure none of us will mind you going early - I don't blame you having to be in bed by 10pm. When Rhianna was first born, I was in bed by 9pm every night!

Amandoh · 29/11/2007 01:50

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all well.

Just to recap... 8pm at Pizza Express in Caterham.

Do you all know where Pizza Express is? It's on Croydon Road very near to Caterham Town Centre Roundabout. From the A25 take the A22 towards Croydon then turn left towards Caterham Town Centre and Pizza Express is just past the roundabout and on the right hand side of the road. For those with Sat Nav the address is 10 Croydon Road, Caterham, CR3 6QB.
Telephone - 01883 342 717

Funnytype & Mumpbump ~ It'll be great if you can both make it. Fingers crossed!

Firewalker ~ Apologies for this message being so late. Had a busy day as 11yr old had friends coming for dinner. Then we went into Croydon and then to the supermarket and didn't get home till after 11pm. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Take care,

Amanda x

Firewalker · 29/11/2007 09:38

I'll be there, I hope everyone else will be too.

Amanda - I can't believe you posted at nearly 2am!!!!!

See you all tonight I hope.

Good morning,

Firwalker ~ Little T didn't properly go to sleep till after 1am which for him is quite early as we've had another run of 2am/3am sleep times. At the moment N and I are surviving on 4-6hrs sleep. Some days I'm able to go back to sleep after N and older boys have left in the morning but usually I take the opportunity to do the things I can't do while Little T is awake. I very much miss child free evenings though.

Take care and I'll see you later,

Amanda x

Firewalker · 29/11/2007 10:00

Amanda

I do feel for you, I can't cope unless I've had at least 7 hours sleep a night. That must be terrible for you.

I hope you've got the sellotape to tape your eyes open tonight!

By the way, I meant to say that if you want a lift to and from the restaurant, let me know. I pass your house to get there, so it's not a problem. If you do, can you just remind of house number (I know the road).

Amandoh · 29/11/2007 10:40

Hi again,

Firewalker ~ Thank you for your kind offer. N is going to drop me off at Pizza Express after we take J to Cadets as we pass Pizza Express on the way back but if you could drop me home that would be great. Seems silly to ask N to collect me if you're going to be driving past our house on your way home anyway.

I dream of 7hrs sleep! (Not literally of course. I'm not asleep long enough to dream!). I've got a mascara that promises "That wide awake look!". I might paint myself in it.

Thanks again,

Amanda x

I am really sorry but going to have to pass on tonight as have been sick a few times today and dont feel like eating, unless I suddenly improve by tonight I will let you know. Looks like I got Isabella's bug although she was only sick once but does have a bad cough. I was looking forward to meeting you all again and meeting Amanda but hopefully will get the opportunity at the next night out. By the way should be able to make the 12th as we decided to get the other car back on the road as havent been saving much money but at least I will be able to use the car when ever I want now. Hope it goes well tonight and apologies again. xx

Sorry to hear that Steph. I hope you are soon feeling better and I'll look forward to seeing you on 12th Dec.

So, it may just be me, Helena and Amanda then? Hope you are still coming Helena. I'll log again around 6pm at home just to make sure all is still going ahead.

Mumpbump · 29/11/2007 16:36

Yup - I don't think it's very far away from me so I will definitely come along, but will probably only stay for an hour or so...

Firewalker · 29/11/2007 18:32

Right - I'm logging off now, so will see you both tonight at 8pm!

Firewalker · 30/11/2007 11:17

What a great evening. It was so nice to see you both again Amanda and Helena. I hope you had a good night's sleep and don't feel too tired today and that the little ones slept well. So much for you getting home by 10pm, Helena!!!

Hopefully next meet up we'll get a full complement. Maybe we should aim for end of January, beginning of Feb?

In the meantime, I know some of us have 12th Dec pencilled in. Helena suggested lunch at the Cafe Rouge in Reigate. What do you think Steph and Mary?

Amandoh · 30/11/2007 12:10

Hello again,

I hope you're all well.

It was great to meet you Helena and lovely to see you again Paula. I can't remember the last time I went out for a meal and didn't have Little T with me. I had a really nice time and thouroughly enjoyed the company so thank you both. We must do it again soon! Jan/Feb would be nice as we could catch up on what we all did over the Christmas and New Year period.

Take care,

Amanda x

Mumpbump · 30/11/2007 13:08

Likewise, good to meet you Amanda and good to see you again Paula! I'm a bit tired today, but not too bad and my sister arrives later this afternoon so that will make looking after Freddie a bit easier!

Looking forward to catching up with the others again in December hopefully. Evening meet-up in Jan/Feb sounds good to me!

The people on this thread are East Surrey, but I'm sure there will be one more local to you...

Firewalker · 06/12/2007 11:08

Hi there

I can't really hang around much beyond 1.15 as I'm meeting my Mum and then going to watch Rhianna's nativity play back at nursery. Could we meet around 12.00 - 12.15 Helena and Mary and then Steph join us at 12.30. Obviously you all stay as long as you like, but I need to be gone around 1.15 so if we meet at 12.30, I'm not going to get very long with anyone.

Steph, I would think you park in Morrison's as you get 2 - 3 hours there don't you? If there's somewhere a bit nearer perhaps one of the others could suggest somewhere. I shall be in the NCP near the cinema as I will be there from 10am.
