Hi I am 33 years young and live in Copthorne near Crawley, West Sussex and looking to chat to other mums/mums to be in the Surrey/Sussex area and maybe arrange a meet up sometime. I used to be on the Redhill or nearish thread but that seemed to die a sudden death so thought I would start a new one.

I have a daughter of 17 months and am expecting another girl in October.

Hi again,

Splishsplosh ~ Lovely to meet you too. Your daughter is such a gorgeous little thing and what a heart melting smile! I look forward to meeting you both again soon.

Firewalker ~ I'm sorry we won't be able to meet up next Monday. I can see that it must be difficult to juggle work with a social life. Are evenings generally easier for you? As you know I'll be stuck in for a while once I'm home from hospital. In theory the 8th of October is good for me if you fancy popping round. However, I can't absolutely confirm that date as I don't know how quickly I'll feel up to visitors so I'll have to let you know a little nearer to the time. I hope this is ok.

I spoke to Dropdeadfred earlier this evening and we've arranged to meet in Pizza Express in Caterham next Monday ( 24th Sep ) at 1pm. If anyone else is at a loose end and fancies joining us for lunch then please come along. Caterham is the last stop for the 407 bus from Croydon and it stops right outside Pizza Express. For those of you that drive parking is free in Morrison's car park which is just a few minutes walk away.

Hopefully we'll see a few of you there,

Amanda x

Firewalker · 20/09/2007 13:57

Amanda - of course I do understand, so I'll keep the 8th free just in case you do feel up for a visit! If anything happens that my friend cancels on Monday, I'll be there at Pizza Express! I have a friend who lives near there as well so could drop in and see her on the way back home too. Again I haven't seen her for a while now

Steph - glad you are feeling better and hope you have a nice weekend ooop north! I can't do Monday morning meet ups just now as Rhianna is going to a playgroup in the mornings that she loves. I can leave her for an hour too which means I can pop home and get a couple of bits done while she's there as well which is really handy as it's just across the road from us in the church. I know Isabella only goes to nursery on Monday afternoons so that doesn't work out well really does it? However, Rthe playgroup is closed for half-term on 22nd October, and I assume Isabella's nursery is too, so how about we meet up then if you are around? Rhianna is desperate to get back to the Wacky Warehouse - assuming you have the car then of course. Let me know

Hi everyone,

There haven't been any new posts on here for a while so I was wondering how you all are, especially MumpBump... How are you feeling now? Were your test results ok?

As I posted previously, I'm going to be out of action for the next month or so but let's try to get another girly night out arranged soon.

Firewalker ~ Thanks again for your offer to visit post op. All being well I'll be home on Saturday so I'll let you know how it went.

Take care,

Amanda x

PS: Dropdeadfred... Triple chocolate deluxe dessert! When are we going again?

Firewalker · 26/09/2007 09:27

Yes I was wondering how you were Helena. Is everything OK?

Amanda - best of luck with your op I really hope it goes well and I look forward (I hope) to seeing you on the 8th. I trust you had a nice time on Monday (I'm very envious of that triple choccie deluxe dessert)!

Paula

splishsplosh · 26/09/2007 13:01

Hi, Amandoh, good luck with your op, hope it goes well.

I was thinking of joining you in Caterham on Monday but unfortunately I had a mc confirmed that day, so not really up to it. Though maybe theat pudding would have have helped me feel a little bit better!

Mumpbump · 02/10/2007 21:00

Hello there! Sorry for radio silence. It all got a bit hectic. I never found out whether I had the OC thing or not. Baby Joseph Alexander decided he didn't want to wait any longer and was born in the back of an ambulance at 4:45 on 20 September. Total time officially in labour was 45 minutes. As we're only 4 minutes drive from the hospital, it was touch and go whether we waited for the ambulance, but realistically I think dh would have had problems getting me there. The ambulance station is only 2 minutes away so I got some gas and air, thank god. I don't think they quite believed me when I said the baby was coming. Born outside the East Entrance to East Surrey Hospital and doing well. He sleeps all day and all night at the moment, but I've been busy with ds and we have had my dsc staying whilst their mum has been on holiday so life has been very busy!

It would be good to meet up during the daytime in a child friendly place, if anyone is up for it! Ds will be going to nursery on Wednesdays and Fridays so that might be a bit easier for me as he is very active!!

Amandoh · 03/10/2007 10:37

Congratulations on the birth of your new baby boy Mumpbump!

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all well.

Thank you for your kind messages. I came home on Monday evening having not had the best time of it but hey ho, home now. Feeling a bit groggy and sore but it was self inflicted so not complaining (too much).

Firewalker ~ If you're still available on the 8th then it would be lovely to meet you. Is 1pm convenient for you? Let me know and I'll email you my address. Before going in for the op I spoke to Dropdeadfred and she said she'd pop round too if she was free so you'll be able to meet her too.

Take care all and hopefully we'll arrange a night out soon,

Amanda x

Firewalker · 03/10/2007 13:54

Hello

Helena - am so pleased for you. I thought baby might come early. Congratulations to you on Joseph's arrival. Not sure whether you will feel up to this but Steph and I are meeting at the Wacky Warehouse (at the Air Balloon pub) in Horley on 22nd October. Maybe your little boy (can't remember his name sorry was it Max?) will enjoy running around with Rhianna, Isabella and Sophia?? If you could make it, it would be lovely to see you all.

Amanda

I wondered how the op went. I'm glad you are OK, if groggy! Hope you manage to get some rest over the next few days. Would love to meet up with you and DDF next Monday. it would be really nice to see you both and your children. I was just thinking though that 1pm is Rhianna's lunchtime (we go to playgroup until 12.15), so would you like me to come over a bit later - say 2pmish after lunch? Let me know. If you'd like to email me your address that would be great - my home e-mail is [email protected].

Take care all

Love

Paula

Mumpbump · 03/10/2007 14:33

Hi Paula! We will be in France for my sister's wedding on 20 October otherwise I would have loved to meet up with you... Let me know next time you're meeting!

Dropdeadfred · 04/10/2007 12:19

Splish Splosh - so sorry to hear about your mc. Hope you're feeling okay?

Amandoh...that dessert was to die(t) for...!

splishsplosh · 04/10/2007 13:27

Dropdeadfred - thanks - I'm doing OK, mc thread on here v helpful, and dd keeping me distracted, at least.
Amanda, hope you're feeling ok

Amandoh · 05/10/2007 00:57

Hello again,

Splishslosh ~ I'm so sorry to read your news. I've sent you an email through Mumsnet so I hope it reaches you. Thank you, I am feeling ok. I'm still a little sore and swollen but nothing that time and rest won't sort out.

Firewalker ~ I just wanted to let you know, incase it goes to junkmail, that I've emailed you with my address. Looking forward to meeting you!

Dropdeadfred ~ I hope you and little O are feeling better and will be able to come on Monday. I can't promise anything as delicious as the choccy dessert but I can promise a variety of cakes! Diet? What diet?

Hello to everyone else and I hope you're all ok.

Take care,

Amanda x

Dropdeadfred · 05/10/2007 09:48

Hi all,

Splish plosh I'm glad the mc threads here are helping - I don't know what stage you were at, not that it matters - it still hurts like hell doesn't it? JUst wanted to ad that I know a little of what you must be feeling as I've has mc's myself.

Amandoh - I am taking dd3 to the docs this morning as her tonsils look horrible. She woke up abbout 3 times last night with coughing fits, but she does seem a lot brighter and more herself today!

There's only one kind of cake that REALLY counts....choccy..hmmm

splishsplosh · 05/10/2007 12:39

Dropdeadfred - I was 10.5 weeks when started bleeding. It's a horrible thing to go through, but I'm glad I have my dd at least, as that does help.

Amanda, glad you're doing OK, hopefully it won't take too long for the pain and swelling to settle. I havem't got your email - I haven't subscribed on MN, does that make a difference? my address is [email protected] if you want to try directly, it's nice of you to write

Firewalker · 05/10/2007 14:09

I'm starving and all this talk of chocolate cake is making me feel reeeeeeeeeeeally hungry.

I don't know how I missed that message, but I'm very sorry to read of your miscarriage Slishsplosh. How awful for you. I really don't know what to say as that must be a dreadful experience.

Dropdeadfred - I hope you daughter is soon feeling much better.

Amanda - got your mail this morning thank you. I will reply this evening when I get home as I was dashing off to work this morning. I look forward to seeing you, please don't go to any trouble on the cake front - you deserve your rest. I'll eat almost any cake so I don't mind what I get given. Just mention the work cake and I'm there!!

Helena - oh that's a shame. Steph and I may not meet up on Monday again for a while after 22nd as Isabella's and Rhianna's times at pre-school don't coincide (that's half-term week). Perhaps we could sort out a Sunday meet up or something round Crawley somewhere?? Failing that, an evening meet will be good. I wonder what's happend to Mary - she hasn't posted for ages.

fatbetty · 06/10/2007 12:20

HELLO!!! So sorry for not writing for what seems like ages!! We were on holiday and then my family has been over for the last three weeks. They just left yesterday and now trying to get my life back in order. But I'm back on now. looks like you guys have been busy. DS1 and DS2 are both in school now so might be able to meet up in the morning with DD.

MumpBump, a big congratulations to you on the safe and QUICK arrival of Joseph. Was DS1 born that quick? Hope you all are doing well. Splishsplosh, so sorry to hear of your MC. I hope you are getting rest and taking some time for yourself. Amanda, so glad to hear that your dog is doing better.

Sorry if I missed out anybody. Hope you all are well and look forward to meeting up soon.

Firewalker · 10/10/2007 10:23

Hi Mary - nice to see you posting. Glad you had a good time with the family over.

Amanda I got your e-mail thank you and I have replied. It was lovely to meet you.

Amanda, Dropdeadfred and I met up on Monday - unfortunately DDF had to leave quite soon after I arrived, but hopefully we will get more of a chance to speak another time. I hope your little girl is now 100%.

Amanda and I had a really nice afternoon. It was great to meet her and her family. She also has a house full of animals which pleased Rhianna very much as she was all over the cats (and I was too)! Amanda also provided us with some gorgeous cakes and sweets for Rhianna (which she is still going on about)!!!

It would be great if we could all meet up for an evening out some time. It would be lovely to see everyone again - Helena and Mary, I haven't seen you for a few months now. Caterham is slightly nearer for everyone than Purley so how does everyone feel about meeting there some time?

funnytype · 15/10/2007 13:37
