Scottish Christmas meet-up

There has always been a good night in Edinburgh at Christmas but so far, there doesn't seem to be the impetus for one.

Nailpolish started a thread here but it has limped on without getting to a critical mass.

I thought I'd start a new thread with Christmas in the title to see if that would generate a bit more interest! As someone said on the other thread, we are getting a bit close to Christmas, so we should get a move on if we are going to organise something!

Couldn't do the 5th for lunch (school winter fair that morning) but could do an early evening gathering.

Apart from that, prettybird-no-mates is pretty much free all December.

Butterfly - we sadly lost two of the Scots Grey bantams last winter and only had two females and two cockerels left so I despaired of any success this year.
Well, the little scamps have had masses of chickens this year. They are all running around the farm so we were going to earmark a day to catch them and keep them separate from the others. You are more than welcome to a trio.

I honestly would love to but live in the middle of nowhere so getting home would be a bit tricky. Or I could drive but where is the fun in that?

I can probably do the 5th, but would have to come home early, so starting early would be good. At Christmas you can start early!

12th would be better for me, but will go with the majority.

The earliest I would be able to get across on the 5th would be 3pm (got to help clear up after the winter fair - thne get ready, which at my advance age takes ages ) and then get a lift into town to get the train acorss.

Hi. Mind if I join you? I could make the 5th or the 12th, would also need to catch the train back to Perth.

Stayingsunnygirl · 25/11/2009 17:51

I wouldn't be able to make either the 5th (MIL staying) or the 12th (we're hosting a party that night for my art class), so only the 19th would be doable, I'm afraid. But if everyone else can make the 5th or 12th, don't worry, and maybe we can have a piss meet up in the new year!

I could give you a lift when you get back to Perth WorkInProgress. (I won't drink as it is a longish drive home from Perth)

Oh, I'm really excited now!

Thanks GentleOtter, but I'm a way out too, I think in the opposite direction. And I owe you a drink from way back! At least we can keep each other awake on the train and not wake up in Inverness!
Any consensus on date - I can make all ( sad no social life me)....

Rhumba · 25/11/2009 20:31

I'm in Edinburgh anyway on the 5th....

will lurk with interest!

GentleOtter · 25/11/2009 20:53

Sorry to be really thick but which day is it (and where?)
