Would anyone be up for it?

Could it be arranged somewhere in the middle of the country?

And would Carrie and Justine be interested?

where is it going to be then brum ?

Newbarnsleygirl · 11/04/2005 21:29

Only if we can eat your strawberries

Hmmm this might be a bit difficult to pick somewhere.

I think we need to have a vote possibly on a seperate thread for everyone to realisticly (sp) decide on where we should meet, then we can start organising.

Hmm, as it looks like this is getting closer and closer to me (Sheffield), will have to stop lurking and show my hand.

While I've done some lovely meets without kids, I've never actually done a meet with kids yet and I really can't imagine how an extremely large meet-up would work? If we all had a picnic or went 'somewhere', I can't imagine that I'd actually meet anyone - would spend all my time feeding/chasing/supervising my ds's. Not wanting to sound too pathetic, but I imagine I'd spend the day with my ds's, while surrounded by a group of people ... just like going out on our own?

Can you convince me I'm wrong? (Please don't let me kill this thread by the way...)

Gwenick · 11/04/2005 21:36

problem with manchester is theres'a not as many 'direct' routes (ie buses and trains) going to manchester as there are birmingham - which for those that don't use public tranports much/don't like changing a lot could make things a bit tricky.

Chatting to DH tonight and he's happy for me to go to one........BUT I'd have to take the kids as he couldn't guarantee that he'd be able to have them, even at the weekend, because of the business......

Gobbledigook · 11/04/2005 22:20

Yes Gwenick but it's so much more worth visiting than anywhere else that transport changes should really not be an issue

BTW, are you sure? I'd be very surprised if anyone found it difficult to get to Manc.

Gobbledigook · 11/04/2005 22:25

MANCHESTEEEEEEEEEER

Go on, you know it makes sense.

Gwenick · 11/04/2005 22:28

gobble - yep totally sure - you can get direct to birmingham from Glasgow, London, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Cambridge, without any changes on the train

Gobbledigook · 11/04/2005 22:30

Yes but it's....well....erm... Birmingham! And it's just not a patch on Manchester

Gwenick · 11/04/2005 22:31

yeah but we're not going sight seeing we want to meet up

At least I think I'd recognise you from your photo! Would recognise Lockets too and maybe Emmatmg and Lou33 and WWB but that's about it I think.

Oh and JoolsToo of course although I might pretend not to

Gobbledigook · 11/04/2005 22:33

giraffeski, where are you?!

Gwenick · 11/04/2005 22:35

probably not gobble - that photo was taken 5 1/2yrs ago

marthamoo · 11/04/2005 22:39

I wouldn't want to bring my kids - I wouldn't get to talk to anyone. And I don't do camping.

Not saying I'm coming, mind - just chewing it over and sticking my oar in

Manchester is a far better choice than Brum (but I would say that, being only 20 miles away).

marthamoo · 11/04/2005 22:40

Can't we rent a castle or something? Like in Cold Feet?

hunkermunker · 11/04/2005 22:41

Gobbledigook, you'd recognise me from this pic if I kept my back to you
