Would anyone be up for it?

Could it be arranged somewhere in the middle of the country?

And would Carrie and Justine be interested?

Yeah I did think of that, me personally I don't mind.

I'll share with Fasta, then she can sing Shakira hits to get me to sleep

And I promise I'm not some weirdo!

Such a shame that the meet up has to be central. We have an excellent 4 star hotel with a wonderful health club attached. Heated pools inside and out. Gym, spa pool, sauna, jacuzzi, beautician, massage etc etc.
The rooms are fantastic and the food is out of this world. It only cost £60 per person for 4 course silver service meal, entertainment, full english breakfast and the use of all the facilities. Just a bit too far for peole to travel though.

I'm sending off for brochures, are we saying that the hotel is adults only and the picnic os for the kids? Should we direct the ones bringing children to the travel lodge then? ~Don't want to alienate them!~

Do you think it might be easier to just ring round and do a bit of haggling with the hotels FA?

I've just had a look at the thistle hotel in the city centre. That looks good.

I like the Thistle too, I know those hotels so I'm comfortable with it... I think I should call and haggle when we know how many people want to do the hotel bit....how long will that take tho?

You can send an online event enquiry...you need number of guests and a vague sort of budget idea.. just posted that on the wrong thread!

I shan't be coming as Manchester is just too tricky with the kids. But I think even saying that is 'alienating' those with kids somewhat. Some people (me if I were able to come) would HAVE to bring my kids, there's no way I could ask DH to look after them while he's working................. and that means those that would HAVE to bring kids would be 'put' in one place while those that are lucky enough to go childless would have the 'luxury' (and possibly more fun as I should imagine 'most' won't bring their kids) of being in a bigger group.

flashingnose.....here is the hotel we used

They have a deal where children under 14 stay free of charge.

FastasleepTheInsomniac · 13/04/2005 09:54

Well the thistle is a good family hotel as well... I don't want to alienate anybody at all! I was hoping that as it was a Saturday people might come with their partners who could help with the kids...

I guess I should just shut up - as I won't be coming LOL
