Would anyone be up for it?

Could it be arranged somewhere in the middle of the country?

And would Carrie and Justine be interested?

I quite like Garden of Delights cos I'm sad!

Newbarnsleygirl · 12/04/2005 15:07

Well I thought August at first but when I did a search I put in July and August so it gave a few more options.

Theres a jazz fest, the d-percussion, and lots of guided walks!

Newbarnsleygirl · 12/04/2005 15:13

Yeah I liked the look of the Jazz one but it might not be everyones cup of tea.

Isn't there a big carnival or fair going on?

We could have a picnic in the garden of delights! Lol... or yes just a plain picnic with some orgnaised games or something so that we can sort the date for whenever

FastasleepTheInsomniac · 12/04/2005 15:18

Sure NBG I'll get thinking!

Newbarnsleygirl · 12/04/2005 15:21

I like the picnic idea but which park warden in their right minds would let us lot in

OP posts:
FastasleepTheInsomniac · 12/04/2005 15:24

Ah they would... just need you guys who want to come to come and tell us...

Would you just like a family picnic?

Or if it's a long way to go and you're coming childless would you like a restaurant thing for later? And then to go back to a hotel?

darlingbud · 12/04/2005 15:27

I'm up for it.

huggybear · 12/04/2005 15:30

i'd like to come too xx

Newbarnsleygirl · 12/04/2005 15:30

I want the restaurant thing and Hotel I'm sure we'll have to do that anyway or else it will be a long journey for some people.

I'll have a look for some hotels and restaurants and see if we can get a deal for group bookings.

mummytosteven · 12/04/2005 15:32

having a think about restaurants .... from Manc originally and go back there quite often

la tasca on Deansgate in Manchester is nice

Newbarnsleygirl · 12/04/2005 15:34

Excellent idea MTS, they're generally big restaurants as well so they should fit us all in.

Hi all

We think this sounds like a great idea, but we've found that getting us involved doesn't usually solve anything in terms of decision-making and anyway it sounds like you're doing a great job without us! It would probably work best if one or two of you were prepared to take on the job of organising once you've decided where the majority of folks are happy to go (looking like Manchester at the mo?)

We'd be happy to endorse the meet up and advertise it on the home page once the details are sorted. And once the date is fixed, if we're around, we'd obviously love to come.

Good luck with it all - we look forward to hearing more.

Carrie, Justine and Rachel

FastasleepTheInsomniac · 12/04/2005 16:09

I was thinking Wetherspoons because I don't really know Manc but La Tasca that's great as long as it's nice and big! Find your own hotel I think although I can provide links to listings and map info.

Right well then going to think of a date mid July probably, I'm thinking big picnic probably Heaton Park, I'm definately thinking bring your own food!

I'm also thinking of maybe setting up some easyish activities, such as face painting and some games that don't need lots of stuff to set them up, depending on the amount of children - if anyone can think of some nice easy party style games/activities/crafts then let me know!!

Carrie got back to me, they think it's a great idea, she said they definately endorse it and will advertise it on the front page when we get a date etc, but they do not want to organise it..hehe! If they're available we might even get to meet Carrie and Justine!

FastasleepTheInsomniac · 12/04/2005 16:10

Oopsy X posted!

mummytosteven · 12/04/2005 16:11

i wouldn't say that the manc wetherspoons are desperately nice tho - i mean they do their job as far as cheap grub and ale are concerned but that's about it.
