Would anyone be up for it?

Could it be arranged somewhere in the middle of the country?

And would Carrie and Justine be interested?

I vote for no kids - any excuse to get away

Would say Midlands or Staffs would be quite central - would take some organising - could you do it in a hotel type place organising a dinner in a banqueting hall or am I going a bit OTT? Then we could have numbers on badges and it's a competition to guess who is who! Oooh, I am getting carried away!

nutcracker · 07/04/2005 21:20

I would love to go without kids too but not sure i could manage that.

Newbarnsleygirl · 07/04/2005 21:26

No, they're good ideas Gobbledigook. Thats the sort of thing I had in mind.

How about August?

OP posts:
Gobbledigook · 07/04/2005 21:28

Aye - gives me time to work up a tan and lose a bit of pork!

JoolsToo · 07/04/2005 21:29

you haven't got long enough

Gobbledigook · 07/04/2005 21:31

Wah, wah, waaaaaaaaaaah

Newbarnsleygirl · 07/04/2005 21:33

COME ON EVERYONE!!!

Cant do 30th July, that week or the 6th August, on hols & DS1's birthday.

Can do most others tho.

It's not too difficult to arrange, as long as everyone says they are defo going, and pays a deposit, we did it at xmas there was about 15 of us for a meal and we paid a deposit, if you didnt you didnt go, simple.

Choose an area, Midlands is the middle supposedly, adn there are loads of places in Brum, or Staffs, there's Leicester, Nottingham, these are still quite Midlands (ish)

I can do without kids or with, not a problem as long as I have loads of notice.

I like the idea of a badge, but maybe do an Alias of perhaps kids names/MN Name.

Newbarnsleygirl · 07/04/2005 21:52

I think the best thing to do is to keep the thread going for a few weeks and if anyone wants to search for some hotels or if you know anywhere that could accomadate everyone then that can be looked in to.

OP posts:
JoolsToo · 07/04/2005 21:54

some will be dead agin it!

I might appear anonymously - lurk on the thread find out where you are, and snap you all arriving with my digital then post all the piccys on member profiles ...

Ronniebaby · 07/04/2005 21:57

Jools you wicked

I dont care I'll post me own pic on me profile

If peeps against it then they dont have to come, Simple

Newbarnsleygirl · 07/04/2005 21:58

I don't expect everyone to be up for it but I'm sure they're will be a fair few that do.

Might conceivably be easier to tag onto some kind of existing event - for example WOMAD 2005 in Reading at the end of July, or some other, smaller / cheaper event - even just a country fair or something... that way food is organised, entertainment laid on, toilets are in place, non MNers can find stuff to do etc. etc.

LGJ · 07/04/2005 23:30

Keep me informed

Would love a whole family meet up..........hell I would even camp for you lot (ask my RL friends, if that is a sacrifice)(it is)

BUT and here is the important part....only Mummies in a certain area after 8/9 ish

RTMTMML · 07/04/2005 23:31

seems interesting, though how I'll manage it with 5 kids will make me laugh.

Couldn't we all meet in Jamaica? lol

jampots · 07/04/2005 23:33

camp sites generally I searched for Birmingham and this site is about 5 miles from Brum but right by Mway network.

nutcracker · 07/04/2005 23:40

I might just bring eldest 2 i think.

hunkermunker · 07/04/2005 23:40

Really not sure about camping, but will stay at a B&B nearby and let you all sniff my shower-clean armpits and stroke my freshly-washed hair

jampots · 08/04/2005 00:20

I propose Jeffersons here

and staying at Travel Lodge here

Caligula · 08/04/2005 00:28

I'd possibly be up for it, depending on dates, facilities etc.(might draw the line at camping unless I know axemen/ ghosties/ ghoulies / scary things are banned.)

Wouldn't York/ Nottingham/ Manchester etc. be more central, if you count the Scottish contingent? Brum sounds awfully south to me (as a Kent girl).

jampots · 08/04/2005 00:46

i dont suppose it really matters as long as its close to motorway networks and easy to get to/find.

Beety's wasnt that central

fastasleep · 08/04/2005 08:33

I'd go if MTS was going lol

LGJ · 08/04/2005 08:39

I'm not going if MTS brings her 18 kids

fastasleep · 08/04/2005 08:43

Some of you guys just can't read names can you
