New mums - Derby area

hello mums,

New to mumsnet, new mum - with a 4wk DD, wondering if there were some mums out there who wanted to meet, share horror stories, chat, or generally have a moan. I do try and get out each day, but conversation with a 4 wk old baby is quite limiting.

Thanks madrose. Seems to be more groups in Mickleover than Littleover. Thx for sat invite, but most w/ends are frantic, would be interested in mtg in the week if anyone's up for it. DS in nursery tues/thurs morns, so any other time is good. Went to Chucklebutties last week, which was surprisingly civilised for softplay !

madrose · 30/09/2006 23:36

it's not bad is it. Nice Thai restaurant next to it, they love kids there too.

I get Tuesdays off, but also get half terms, so if you gancy something then - fabbo

Oh blooming heck, this thread went off my 'Threads I'm on' page and I'm such a div I've forgotton to check back. Sorry! And after such a lovely welcome too Would be nice to meet up over half term. I'll check on again soon!

george14 · 10/10/2006 12:10

Hi all. Sorry not been on for a while, DS poorly with chest infection - inhaler, anti biots etc. etc. The obligatory illnesses after starting nursery for the first time! And of course, then I caught the lurgy too - nice !! And round and round we go. Hope you all had fun last weekend when you met up. Let me know when the next one is and I'll try and pop along. Alternatively, if anyone wants to meet beforehand, get in touch. Good days for us are Mon, Wed or Fri. Rodeo - let me know when it's nearer half term.

Pastarito · 10/10/2006 13:21

Hello - I've recently moved to Measham (near Ashby) from London and would be happy to chat with other mums in the area.

I know it is not exactly Derby but there don't seem to be many MNetters from this area so I thought I'd gatecrash.

Haven't read the whole thread but I think my kids are a bit older 7 and 4, but hope that doesn't matter. It is just nice to see that there are other Mnetters from this area.

madrose · 10/10/2006 20:21

we had a lovely (tiring) time watching the DC playing, climbing, etc - just glad mine only wanted to go down the slide once, was quite happy with the playcorner, which meant mummy could eat a choc cake

I think the next meet will involve Beer and no little ones.

Sorry to hear about poory LO's.

Age doesn't matter - you'll be full of handy tips and hints.

Derbymom - are you ok? Missed you last week.

So how about beer?

Hi i am fairly new to MN and would like to chat or meet up with mums from Derby. I live near Allestree

madrose · 10/10/2006 22:04

hello, there is a few of us who meet up when we can, probably not as regularly as we would like to, life keeps getting in the way.

Whereabouts in allestree are you?
How old are your LO's?

sorry dead nosy

I'm off keddy road, and mostly off my rocker

Had a lovely time on Sat, unfortunately it takes more than that to tire Dom out so we had to go and feed the ducks too! Suppose it's cheaper than going to the gym!

Right I'm going to propose a date for beer... hows Sat 18th November? I know it's ages away but I thought we could make it a pre-xmas pi**-up and go for a meal too??

What does everyone think? (new and old M'Netters!!)

madrose · 11/10/2006 22:20

think I'm ok for that. Beer beer beer oh yeah and food would be good. What do people fancy?

OP posts:
madrose · 11/10/2006 22:22

sorry it took more to tire Dom out, I would have thought all that climbing would have helped. My little lady was knackered - so had nap, got up went to party her boyfriend was there - and by bedtime was absolutely knackered. So was I.

On Sunday when she had her nap - I had one too

OP posts:
runkid · 11/10/2006 22:44

No i work full time so dont get to go

madrose · 11/10/2006 22:56

I work 4 days, but it feels like 10. My dd 1s 19 months (where did that time go?) and during my 4 days she goes to mulberry.

So fancy a beer on the 18th.

Derbymon - how are you?

OP posts:
derbymom · 12/10/2006 13:19

Hi long time no speak. I'm ok thanks. Had a lovely week in cornwall which was very relaxing and Holly really enjoyed going to the beach. 18th sounds good for beers. City centre?? Which restaurants do people like to go to?

Rodeo · 12/10/2006 14:10

Hi all!
Would be great to meet up at half term if any of you are free?
Pastarito, I have a 4 & 7 yr old too as well as a 1 yr old so would be great to meet you too
Will check back in soon!
PS. Beer on the 18th sounds good!

madrose · 12/10/2006 20:47

Looks like the Beer thing is a good idea and the 18th is deffo.

Right - a bite to eat - Good idea Derbymom and Domsmummy.

What do people fancy? Zizzis, haus, thai, pizza express, that new tapa place????

Normally I'm around during half terms, but actually going on Holiday this half term, very last minute but VERY VERY much needed. Would love to meet up another time.

Derbymon - cornwall is nice isn;t it (never been but got close). Good to hear from you

DomsMummy · 18/10/2006 10:44

Quite like the sound of the new Tapas place... not had Tapas for ages!! Otherwise, anywhere that's good for veggies is good for me! :-)
