New mums - Derby area

hello mums,

New to mumsnet, new mum - with a 4wk DD, wondering if there were some mums out there who wanted to meet, share horror stories, chat, or generally have a moan. I do try and get out each day, but conversation with a 4 wk old baby is quite limiting.

Hello you lot! Finally found 5 mins to jump on the computer, how are you all? We should arrange a meet up at bumpies/debs sometime soon. Was lovely seeing you all at the party, hope Maddy had a good time!

madrose · 18/03/2006 20:11

hello, just wanted to say thank you for coming, and thank you for the lovely presents. It was a bit manic, and it would have been nice to spend a bit longer chatting, but again thank you it was so lovely to see you all.

House back to normal - messy, cat fine, serves her right, she should know better, but she seems to like children, Maddy does all sorts to her and she just accepts it.

Must arrange a meet up where it'll be much calmer and we can chat. Still can't believe that my baby is a year old. Feeling extremely broody, so going to have a go at making number two - if it doesn't work will still have fab number one.

take care and hope to see you all soon.

Wow madsmum you trying now??!! I'm soooo jealous we are going to start trying later on in the year, would be great if we were pregnant around the same time. Must admit I was holding my friends newborn baby boy the other day and am also feeling very broody!!

DomsMummy · 20/03/2006 13:30

Wow! Good luck to you both!! I am still getting over the shock of Dominic, as lovely as he is!!

Would love to meet up soon, away this Sat but could do the following week (April Fools Day!) if anyone's free?

madrose · 25/03/2006 10:31

April 1 is good. How about the soft play Teddy bears - on great northern road in Derby. It's newish, decent coffee and the little ones have their own ball pit? And they do food

New babies - yummy

Hi glad everyones ok. Really enjoyed the party. Dom and Holly ran us ragged! Next sat sounds good. what time? can we do late morning?

madrose · 27/03/2006 21:00

late morning is cool, know what you mean run ragged. Mads is walking now, and yesterday was so funny, we went for a meal, and she was really good for an hour, but then played the chase game, luckily I couldn't get to her easily - positioning of seats etc, so Tim had to do all the chasing Grin - he was knackered!!!! He use to think that I exegarated (sp?) but now he knows!!!!!!! The word - monster came out

OP posts:
DomsMummy · 30/03/2006 14:07

Look forward to sampling the food there!! See you on Sat xx

Is Great Northern Road the one next to Uttoxeter New Road?? I think I'll multimap it! x

madrose · 30/03/2006 21:43

that's the one, what time?

DomsMummy · 03/04/2006 13:20

Lovely to see you both on Sat, sorry had to leave Emma - I didn't have the energy to keep climbing up those steps! Me and Dom both had a sleep when we got home (mine partly to do with a hangover tho!!)

There seemed to be a lot more for little ones to do so would definitely go back, it's also a lot quieter than Bumpi's.

Great to see Maddie walking as well, little clever clogs!

See you all soon x

madrose · 15/04/2006 20:54

Happy Easter everyone - hope you all get lots of choccys. Mads doesn't really do choc yet as Mummy and daddy are too mean, and we eat it all. She's been given some eggs which is great as more chocs for us Grin

fancy a meet after Easter, Emma hope to spend more time with you this time.

Hi don't worry about the other Saturday -we were fine. In fact Holly spent more time in the little corner pretending to cook and clean (proper domestic goddess) than on the play equipment. Would love to meet up again. Am free most Saturdays so let me know when you are free.

Told mother not to go mad but did she listen....big bag of eggs, chocolate, sweets...Holly will still be eating it at Christmas. Anyway it was nice to have a long weekend and spend some time together as a family. Went to bumpis on Monday which was manic and I had to tell 3 kids off for being rough in the toddler area.

See you all soon Smile

madrose · 20/04/2006 21:34

Hya - amazing isn't it - no matter how we try they still find the iron and the cooker!!

I'm avaiable most sats - so whenever.

Went to the Farm at Markeaton today, Mads likes pigs, sheep, lambs and cows - but does not like horses or donkeys!!!!!!!

Hoping to have hangover next sat - so how about sat afterwards ie fortnight this sat?

OP posts:
derbymom · 26/04/2006 12:09

Hi this sat would be great - need to go to town and get Holly's feet remeasured so is Debenhams ok for everyone?

Mads - whats Markeaton farm like - saw it on localkids website and looked quite small but fancy taking Holly out this weekend as we have the bank holiday. Took her to a lovely farm last year and she had a ball looking at all of the animals. And i've been teaching her all of the animals noises so she will be able to communicate with them (quack quack)!!!

madrose · 08/05/2006 22:01

Sorry - been awful checking messages. I'm a bad bad person. To be honest have been very stressed recently so have no idea what I'm doing. Oh well. So really sorry to miss you.

The farm at markeaton is very small, but cheap. there is a nice cafe attached.

Most of the animals are in a barn - pigs, lambs, goats and cows. there are rabbits to stroke and hens to feed.

When we've been its taken about 30 minutes, once you've done all the animal noises etc, so we've always tied it in with a coffee and walk around the park.

There is a another farm in roliston (sp) which looks a little better, but markeaton is ok. if you fancy going one saturday give me a shout, Maddy likes the sheep and hens!!! (we must exchange emails.

we can't do the next two (cousins b'day and a weekend in france) but ok for after that 26thish off top of my head.

Hope everyone is well

Hello everyone - old and new-comers. Hope all mums and babies are well. You ok Madrose - it's not work problems again is it?

Does anyone fancy a meet up - can't do this weekend or next but can do sat 10th june if anyone is free. we could go to markeaton if the weather is nice or if not the usual.

For the new-comers - I have a daughter called Holly who is 2 in July. I live in Heatherton near Mickleover and I work full-time. We tend to meet up on a Saturday morning for coffee in town or go to one of the softplay centres around derby to let the kids play together. If that sounds ok - we would love to meet you and your little ones. Smile

madrose · 02/06/2006 20:38

We're all good thanks. Holly is getting tall but still petite. And getting throught shoes like nobodies business. It's costing me a small fotune. You and Maddy ok?
