HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU

Now that we've more or less survived the festive season how about reviving our meet-ups for 2005?

I'm a bit busy next week and the week after with dr. appointments and school interviews for dd, but then my diary is pretty bleak and empty.

So who would like to do what and when

unicorn · 01/02/2005 20:24

Hi..
Mrs Bigd.. have you sorted your childcare arrangement yet?
As there is someone available in Hanwell (check out the childcare thread)

Hi Slink et al, welcom yazza...
I try and avoid snakes + L .. did too much with dd1.
Let me know if there's an 'adult' meet up planned though!!!

MrsBigD · 01/02/2005 21:31

welcome Yazzah

Unicorn - thanks, might have a childminder close to dd's nursery First need to find a job though as scrooge boss can't give me the money I need to have both kids in all day childminding...

Slink - what time did you have in mind for Snakes & Ladders? If I'd go we'd have to take turns running after kids and staying with ds

yingers74 · 02/02/2005 12:10

welcome yazzah, we are a nice bunch! Live very close to you, about 10 mins walk down uxbridge road towards acton. I have a 23 month dd who will be turning 2 at the end of the month.

Good luck on the job hunt Mrsbigd.

And slink, yes lets us know about cornwall.

And yes lets make plans for an adult night out soon!

KATDAC · 02/02/2005 15:40

Hey you all sound like a rowdy bunch - just my crowd - I've just stumbled on this site, and most of my friends are single and childless, I'd love to meet other mums - I live around the corner from Snakes and Ladders in Syon Park, is a usual meeting place! I have a 2 year old and a 6 year old.

MrsBigD · 02/02/2005 16:54

Hi KatDac & welcome to our 'rowdy bunch' LOL we're quite harmless really

KATDAC · 02/02/2005 17:32

Thanks - I can now talk about baby things without feeling too guilty like I did with my single party friends... Do you guys normally meet up, what's the usual haunt!

Slink · 02/02/2005 18:03

Welcome newies....

Mrs BD yep to taking it in turns .... means we get to finish our drinks before they get cold. How about 11ish or anytime that suits we have made that day free for you all...arhhhhh.

Ok night out... 18th shall we go to Ealing??(thought that might be the middle for all) what about the wine bar there?? don't know the name will check it out and let you all know unless other suggessions???

MrsBigD · 02/02/2005 18:13

Slink - Ealing wine bar ... All Bar One or the one that used to be Yates?

Tuesday 15th at S&L at 11:00 it is. Meet inside I say in case it's a bit chilly. Hopign it won't be too busy due to 1/2T.

Slink · 02/02/2005 18:21

All bar one, not been to it is it any good?? want somewhere we can chat..........not shout at each other???? See you in the 15th 11th inside. Anyone else coming???

MrsBigD · 02/02/2005 18:25

I think AB1 is a bit noisy. Last time when I met with yingers we ended up in a pub on Bond Street (opposite of what used to be the firkin) was o.k. for talking until 2100 when it suddenly got very noisy and we both had sore throats the next day!

I know that the Lion and Pinapple in Acton has no music, so good for chatting. Otherwise havent' been out and about much in the 'scene' so no clue really I know there's a place on the 1st floor of the EB shopping centre, but it's been redone so no idea what it's like now, but it's strictly 21 and over so deffo no kids

yingers74 · 02/02/2005 21:01

yes the lion and pineapple does not do any music, and on the whole you can get somewhere to sit and is quite cheap! I live round the corner!!!! Otherwise we could pick a cheap ealing restaurant? Unfortunately most ealing pubs seem to be going for the youth market and hence have ear splitting background music - funny that 5 years ago, that was the kind of place I loved!

MrsBigD · 03/02/2005 11:45

cheap Ealing restaurant? There is such a thing? Well there is CoCo's noodle bar but...

I like the Wine and Moussaka greek restaurant up on Haven Green... great food and nice and quaint

MrsBigD · 03/02/2005 17:15

just a note for possible future coffee meets... went into 'Oscar' in Pitshanger Lane today with my dad and it's lovely now as they've gotten rid of the video rental side of it. Nice comfy sofas, good coffee, and 2 of these wood bead frame tables for kids to play with and some kiddies books too

Slink · 03/02/2005 17:32

HAPPY to meet in the Lion and pinapple place just need directions... so thats for the 18th???

So when shall we try your place on pitshanger lane MRS BD???

MrsBigD · 03/02/2005 19:19

18th sounds good for the Red Lion & Pinapple. Pretty easy to get to as the 207 stops almost outside

How about some day in week commencing 21/2? would have to be 1300ish or so though due to nursery obligations

oh my god, it's almost looking like I'm developing a social life again! unbelivable

unicorn · 03/02/2005 19:35

Won't be able to make the 18th as me and dh have managed to get a night away (in Ireland) hurrah without the kids .

MrsBigD · 04/02/2005 08:35

unicorn ... hmmm to dump the kids and run away

enjoy!

jane313 · 04/02/2005 11:17

I'm looking forward to one of those nights. Only another 13 years to go!

MrsBigD · 04/02/2005 16:05

we're planning to 'ditch the kids' way before 13 years!

yingers74 · 05/02/2005 22:04

unicorn - am so jealous!

I can make lion, it is really only up the road from my place. Are we saying 18th then? That's a friday right?

MrsBigD · 06/02/2005 13:20

I'm on for Friday 18th at the Red Lion

Slink - was thinking re 15th @ Snakes & ladders. Shall we meet outside at 11:00? There is a little cover there and it might be easier to find each other as opposed to being inside and trying to find each other whilst trying to keep track of hyperactive toddler

Slink · 07/02/2005 17:05

I'm good for the 18th and the 15th yep i'll meet whoever outside at 11am.

Enjoy you weekend Unicorn xx

MrsBigD · 08/02/2005 10:47

survivour · 08/02/2005 13:29

I will be at snakes and ladders on the 15th.... at 11am. 3 boys in tow, or running ahead of me.....10, 8, and 2+1/2, will have push chair, and long black coat, probably. Have dyed hair a dark auburn, with a blond fringe, very hard to miss me, if not listen out for the screaming, always a head turner, if I may say so myself. C u all soon....
