HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU

Now that we've more or less survived the festive season how about reviving our meet-ups for 2005?

I'm a bit busy next week and the week after with dr. appointments and school interviews for dd, but then my diary is pretty bleak and empty.

So who would like to do what and when

Hello all,

whats been happening? are we up for another adult night out anytime soon? I have just got back after my week in the new forest with the in-laws. It was not exactly relaxing, sharing a room with a toddler ain't easy and of course hotels are never really child friendly unless you are willing to pay for one of those with proper child care, a friend of mine said I thought all hotels had childcare, bless, the ignorance of the childless!!!!!!

Take care

Slink · 05/04/2005 15:02

Yingers your back how are you all ok with you?????????????????????? We are in the process of making a date to meet up.

Went to Kew no parking arhhhh went to Osterley in the end.

jane313 · 05/04/2005 18:38

hello all, thats a weird co-incidence I haven't read this thread in over a week and I went to Kew today. Theres a free farm there, just until Sunday. You got to scratch piglets, brush goats and bulls and pick up ducklings and chicks. All very sweet. The parking was awful though. We got a place in the car park but it was the last one.

yingers74 · 05/04/2005 22:57

am fine, now 9 weeks so can't wait till I hit the magic 12 weeks! have also been to kew, week before last and the farm is good fun! we find that the best thing to do is get there for 10 then the cycle lane stops operating and you can park near the entrance, victoria I think! It is funny as the street fills up really fast so you just know that loads are people are doing the same!

survivour · 06/04/2005 04:15

If the weather is good, I think I might turn up there tomorrow, at 10am, I know what you mean, it looks packed when I drive past. So anyone interested??? will have all 3 boys with me... It'll be fun.... really it will....only 5 more days before they go back to school.....I need adult conversation...............I've not been well, thats why I've not been posting, so please someone join me???????????????/

MrsBigD · 06/04/2005 09:22

yingers - good to hear you're o.k.

Survivor - glad you're better. Sorry can't join you at Kew this morning, still under the weather and the weather is horrible anyhow Hope you find alternative venue. If you're still desperate tomorrow you're welcome to drop by in the afternoon so your boys can help dd wreak havoc on the freshly sorted toy boxes...

Know what you means though with adult conversation, mine is dh and mn! so glad when dd goes back to nursery, I know it's only 2.5h a day but at the moment I'm climbing the walls and getting ready to loose it. And then, just when I think I've organised something to get me out... I'm ill again! argh! I feel like a hypochondriac!

survivour · 06/04/2005 09:39

I might take you up on that, but the older boys are a handfull, they are like magnets, every few minutes they jump on each other then the wails start, oh mum!!!!!!!!!!!! he hit me!!!! no I didn't, but he did it first!!!!! God help me, 4 days to go , monday here we come....

Slink · 06/04/2005 09:43

hI surviour sorry not going to make this am either, or anywhere at the mo, dd is refusing to dress dh has the day off we had so much planned and she is being a bit of a madam (for a better saying). But surviour glad to her you are well.

Yingers hi oh 9 weeks good for you, roll on 12weeks.

Mrs so whens the next meet up. dd is back at school on Monday till 11.30 so anyone i can meet after that.

Jane 313 hi don't hear from you loads anymore. Are you ok.

MrsBigD · 06/04/2005 11:30

Slink - have no plans for next week. Taking it one day at a time atm. DD starts nursery again Tuesday

Survivor - well maybe if your older boys are somewhere else with toys that are new to them they might be o.k. they can alsways help dd set up her trainset that should keep them quiet.

jane313 · 06/04/2005 12:10

I'm fine just been busy getting married. Hope you have a nice day with your husband when your daughter gets dressed slink!

Have you had a scan yet yingers?

Hope you feel better soon Mrs D. I hate it when yo feel like its just one illness after another, it gets very depressing! I'd love to do another daytime meet and get to meet the rest of you. I can't do next week though and wednesdays in general are bad; but apart from that!

Slink - your own surprise party? Well at lease you will get a party you like, LOL, what are you like? Hope it all goes to plan.

Mrs - I always have time to chat to the ladies from ealing!

Slink · 06/04/2005 15:54

unicorn · 06/04/2005 16:12

hi all,

maybe you lot can help me.

I really really want to go away for 2 weeks this summer but v/little money, so looks more likely this country or Ireland.

Anyone know of any lovely cottages in a seaside location (that are reasonably priced)?

Good to hear from you Yingers (hope you are taking it easy... or as easy as you can get away with!)

Congrats jane313!
and Slink- what's the surprsie party for?

MrsBigD · 06/04/2005 16:42

Jane - has it already happened? Oh my how time flies! congrats to being a 'honest woman'

Slink - have a look through this description

Otherwise have a look at Argos that way you've got one for future occasions. Naturally depends on how professional you want it Under 'toys and babies' are the basic ones etc.

Also if you happen to have an Xbox I can lend you a dance mat, hours of fun, especially if the parents try it and absolutely stink at it great workout though.

Unicorn - you might actually be better of doing a charter somewhere. We were looking into a stint to the Isle of White last year as there's so much to do and thought staying in the UK would be cheaper... well we had to scrap our plans as it would have cost us heaps. Same with our break in Cornwall last week. B&B was reasonable, but by the time you add petrol, food, entrance fees to attractions etc. youch!

Just did a quick search for you ... maybe something like this might be an idea

MrsBigD · 06/04/2005 16:43

can ya tell I can't be bothered to tidy up?

Slink · 06/04/2005 18:10

uNICORN JUST GOT BACK FROM dEVON lOVLEY PLACE STAYED IN THIS PLACE CALLED TLH

TRY WWW.TLH.CO.UK NOT BAD PRICES EITHER GREAT FOR KIDS.

sorry for the caps going mad. The party is for me i will be 34 on the 6th may and dd 4 on the 13th how i timed it joint parties forEVER,

Mrs owl thanks will check that have a dance mat ta though.

Can't sing but hey it's my party i'll scream like a cat if i want to!!!!

jane313 · 06/04/2005 18:37

I went to Ireland last year for two weeks and the cottage/ferry etc was reasonable but food and drink are more expensive than here. And the rain was awful for a few days. We really wished we had gone somewhere sunnier with a very active toddler.

yingers74 · 06/04/2005 23:07

slink - i have a dance mat for the playstation so i could lend that to you if you have one! They are good fun, alternatively you should also give one of those eye toys a go, again good fun and easier to use for young kiddies than a dance mat. We used it for a new year party and it was a good laugh esp after a few drinks.

unicorn - dorset is nice, and there are lots of child friendly activities.
Might be worth keeping an eye out for a cheap deal abroad though as food and board in the uk can all add up. Our hotel bill for the new forest was a small fortune and the weathe ruined a couple of days for us.

Slink · 07/04/2005 12:14

Thanks yingers got a dance mat got it for dd for Eid last year.

I am planing games?? i have parcel parcel but with siily things as adults will be playing, can you thing or any others?? they need to be clean as mil and this family, mine are fine inlaws are snobs.
