HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU

Now that we've more or less survived the festive season how about reviving our meet-ups for 2005?

I'm a bit busy next week and the week after with dr. appointments and school interviews for dd, but then my diary is pretty bleak and empty.

So who would like to do what and when

jane313 · 11/01/2005 13:09

Can't do wednesdays I'm afraid. have fun, hope the rain holds off.

flakecake · 11/01/2005 15:08

Hi bigdrums,

I am going to try and make it on Wednesday 19th. Hope to see you then

MrsBigD · 11/01/2005 16:17

hi flakecake... will post location and exact time confirmation once everybody has agreed on something

MrsBigD · 13/01/2005 14:13

was just thinking about alternatives in case it's raining on Wednesday...

has anybody been to Ealing Library? Do they have a kids playcorner or so?

yingers74 · 13/01/2005 14:29

sorry no idea about ealing library, can tell you lots about acton library!!!!

unicorn · 13/01/2005 21:20

Ealing library doesn't have a 'play area' as such.. but they are usually laid back (ish) with kids (then again they haven't had to deal with my boy in full mental wildchild mode!!!)

So- and I can't think of anywhere else that will let them run amok indoors, maybe that is the altenative venue.

(let's pray for dry weather!!!!...)

West London fundraising event for Tsunami - sorry to gatecrash!!

Hi all,

Mini-IQ (party plan company selling a great range of educational books and toys) has nominated Friday 21st as fundraising day and we are looking for as many people as poss to hold a book party, with some of the proceeeds going to the fund.

Let me know if you know anyone who may be interested..

MrsBigD · 16/01/2005 11:26

can't think of any alternate rainy day meeting point unless we go to the play center in Lammas Park if it's open that is.

Hmmmm... might be a market gap... shall we open a coffee shop with children's play area? Sure to make a killing

unicorn · 16/01/2005 17:53

Totally agree Mrsbigd... there really should be something in the centre of Ealing for us weary mums... where we can dump (er..I mean educationally/physically challenge ) our kids.. and have a coffee in peace.

Now what could it be called...?
(The Mad House springs to mind

MrsBigD · 16/01/2005 18:13

Or

Ye Ol' Tired Mums Respite

yingers74 · 16/01/2005 21:56

It is very annoying, as there are places in in harrow, wood green etc so why not ealing! See u wed!

bluebear · 16/01/2005 22:09

Lammas Park Play centre is v. close to me - it should be open 11am to 3pm.

If you meet there on weds can I come too please??????
Just noticed that you plan to meet at Walpole park if not raining - can I come anyway?

goreousgirl · 16/01/2005 22:25

Ooh hello again chaps! It's v small, but there's a coffee shop called Oscars on Pitshanger lane. They're v tolerant of kids, with a few toys and you are also close to the Pitshanger Park Playcentre (10am-12 noon). Not suggesting it for this meet up - but a nice idea for 3 or 4 people to meet. Totally agree with the specific coffee shop for kids idea tho'! Oscars can get crowded - beware! Thanks for the help on the codes by the way - much appreciated!

jane313 · 16/01/2005 22:28

The YMCA cafe/restaurant is quite good. Not far from Walpole Park has loads of toys inside including a slde/wendy house when I last went and a play area outside.

jane313 · 16/01/2005 22:44

I meant slide!

unicorn · 16/01/2005 22:51

that's a good alternative idea jane313.

Are you coming out to play on Wednesday?

MrsBigD · 17/01/2005 07:47

great idea jane313... I didn't even know the YMCA had a cafe! Only ever went in there to work out ... yonks ago

jane313 · 17/01/2005 10:36

It not the YMCA with an adult gym, its the big one further down South Ealing Road just before the University.

I can't do wednesdays I'm afraid

MrsBigD · 17/01/2005 10:48

Oh the part with the nursery attached? Near the church with that horrible green entrance?

jane313 · 17/01/2005 19:21

Yes past that church and past that pub, the Red Lion I think

bluebear · 17/01/2005 20:54

YMCA on St Mary's road also has an outdoor play area with slide and climbing frame (and tables to drink your coffee at) if the weather's ok or if bigger children get too restless for the cafe - it's in a courtyard so safe from traffic etc.

yingers74 · 18/01/2005 15:00

so what exactly are we doing tomorrow?
