Any meet-ups in the Ealing Area?

Hi there, just had ds, now 7 weeks old. My dd will be 3 in December. Been living in the area for a few years now, but since not working in the City anymore after having dd finding it really hard to meet up with friends (with or without kids) as they all seem to live on the other side of town and it takes ages to get there... quite a challenge with 2 little ones I found (still getting used to having 2 around!)

So looking for new contacts/friends in the area. Been to a few toddler groups before ds came along, but somehow most mothers already seem to be very cliquety and it's hard to 'break in'. Even if I get to chat to someone at e.g. the playground it never evolves, even though I try to be very approachable...

So if you're in the Ealing Area and want to meet up for a chat, tea, coffee or the like ...

P.S. Also I'm German so bringing little ones up bi-lingually if anyone wants to 'expose' their kids to some foreign tones

Hope your beter soon, MrsBigD..... Hi Slink..... and everyone else, I plucked up the courage and took the boys upto snakes and ladders, they loved it....checked up the link for the kids cafe, but could not get any info, I know the chiswick roundabout, going down towards Hanger lane, and I've got lost in Ealing Broadway a few times, but I would love instructions to get there, better still pick me up and drop me off there.........No only kiddings, catch you all soon.

RE: MEET-UP AT MRSBIGD THIS AFTERNOON

dd has woken up coughing a bit worse than yesterday again, otherwise 'happy as' though. Don't think she's contagious as ds (12 weeks) is happily and healthily gurgling away. Would understand though if you don't want to 'expose' your ds/dd. Just let me know

See you later ?

jane313 · 01/12/2004 17:57

It was lovely to meet the three of you and thanks for letting my son eat you out of house and home!

MrsBigD · 01/12/2004 22:43

jane313 - he wasn't that bad and somebody had to eat all that food. DD certainly wasn't...
was great meeting you

yingers / slink - can't make Tuesday I'm afraid

Who's leading the organisation for the Christmas crinkies?

OP posts:
yingers74 · 01/12/2004 22:58

Mrsbigd - not sure!!!!

I guess all we need to do is work out a good night for everyone, pick a restaurant or bar and then hey presto! Wednesdays and fridays are not good for me!

Glad you guys had a good time. And after visiting you, have decided to get my dd a trampoline (actually am getting my brother to buy it for her for xmas - )

MrsBigD · 02/12/2004 15:25

ok so for the Xmas drinkies we have to decide whether we want dh's /dp's to be able to let us have a sleep in in the morning or whether we don't care feeling like zombies the morning after the evening before

If we want sleep ins I guess a Saturday eve would be best, but probably everywhere will be swamped.

Otherwise a mid-week thing it'll have to be with some post party sufferance

Can anybody suggest a place? We usually only go for lunches at the noodle bar so not much of night life experience in Ealing I'm afraid from me.

MrsBigD · 02/12/2004 15:26

yingers - got the trampoline at Argos and was very good value. My mum got it for dd as a pressie.

Festive greetings!! (have you all done your xmas names yet?
There are some very clever suggestions on that thread!.. yingers could be jingles???!)

Are we eating + drinking.. as Mama Amalfi (ebroadway)is sposed to be nice... or Carluccio's.. bit more pricey but nice too.

MrsBigD · 02/12/2004 17:49

yuleicorn... I'm guessing you're the loveley Unicorn?

gotta thinkabout my xmas name...

Mama amalfi is very nice, Carluccio definitely overpriced

OP posts:
yuleicorn · 02/12/2004 17:55

tis one in the same Mrsbd (mrs santaclaus?)

So maybe Mama Amalfi.. not Friday or Sat next week tho (or Wed come to think of it - dh out)

what about everyone else?

Slink · 02/12/2004 18:49

Hello all, not been on for a while writting essays. Night out mmm yes please. But i to can't do next week, but Friday's and Sats are good and we will need to book. What about Nado's in Ealing Common?? Harvester depends what all like.
Yingers i am really sorry but my dd is staring big nursery in jan and we have been invited to meet the teachers and look around ... next tuesday of all the days. Can i meet you later??? around 1 ish (i will have dh with me he is ok well trained) or shall we make another day soooo sorrryyy

love slink

MrsBigD · 02/12/2004 18:54
