Any meet-ups in the Ealing Area?

Hi there, just had ds, now 7 weeks old. My dd will be 3 in December. Been living in the area for a few years now, but since not working in the City anymore after having dd finding it really hard to meet up with friends (with or without kids) as they all seem to live on the other side of town and it takes ages to get there... quite a challenge with 2 little ones I found (still getting used to having 2 around!)

So looking for new contacts/friends in the area. Been to a few toddler groups before ds came along, but somehow most mothers already seem to be very cliquety and it's hard to 'break in'. Even if I get to chat to someone at e.g. the playground it never evolves, even though I try to be very approachable...

So if you're in the Ealing Area and want to meet up for a chat, tea, coffee or the like ...

P.S. Also I'm German so bringing little ones up bi-lingually if anyone wants to 'expose' their kids to some foreign tones

what are the details re time/date for the chiswick play cafe?.. will try and make it.

Embee the snakes and ladders thing will be this Thursday from 1/130pmish. So far its MrsBigD plus daughter and little baby, me plus 16 months yr old son and janeybops plus daughter not sure age. None of us have met before! So am sure there will be a lot of embarrassment or not! I did accost a poor woman at the bunny park who wasn't from mumsnet but found it ok to meet up with the others.

And are we meeting at the cafe?? where abouts is it??? I know chiswick used to work there but didn't know it had Kids cafe.

childsplaycafe If you can get there by bus its probably easier as theres are a few meters buts its mainly residential parking. Although you could park nearer chiwick house and walk under the A4.

dilemma for chiswick meet, slink can go on a tues and unicorn can't. I can't do monday, I think yingers can't go on a friday, That leaves wednesday or 2 meets?

or we could do tues am till afternoon. Last time I went from about 11-3 ish

Have twisted my ankle so can't hobble very far.... but i'm willing to come along to syon house, is parking a problem????? and I need to be back in Ashford for 3pm at the latest....

Syon Park has no problem parking though its a little bit of a walk to the Snakes & Ladders. At a slow hobble you should be fine though.

Not sure yet whether I can make it as DD has got a temperature and is rather lethargic at the moment. Hoping she recovers very quickly as per usual and then I'll drag her there tomorrow. Otherwise I'll have to organise another meet soon fingers crossed!

oh, and when's the Chiswick meet? I'm being a bit thick here but can't find the details in the thread. Then again jiggling ds with one arm to stop him from winging whilst trying to type...

If i do some juggling I should be able to make next wednesday 17th. Need to know quite soon though. I would aim to get there about 10am and leave about 1pm so I, opps mean dd can have an afternoon nap, will get dd lunch there too, she normally enjoys the rice or pasta!

slink - it means laugh out loud! For the cafe, we would meet inside. see jane313 link. You just go in, pay, put sticker on children, park the buggy and watch them play in the various rooms.

I can usually do wednesdays but not the 17th. But do go ahead if its ok for everyone else.

MrsbigD hope your daughter gets better but meet is day after tomorrow not tomorrow! I hope

Okay, so are we going on say tuesday 16th then? Who is up for it? Slink, is the morning good for you? we can always talk about charmed?

Unicorn - we keep missing each other! shall we have a gunnersbury park meetup? Is there anything for young kids in the musuem?

Or perhaps we could try the art for fun place as suggested by Slink. Does it serve decent food for toddlers?

well I was going to try for Thursday, but judging by today's performance after playgroup ds will be absolutely exhausted, and 'behaviourally challenged' (ie a little s*d!!)

so best days for local meetups for me are.. mon wed/ fri.

Oh Yingers a charmed fan. Am of the 16th is grand for me just let me know what time. Food at art for funmm not sure about that i know they do teas and drinks i can always find out and get back to you on that. Yingers don't forget to wear the rose??????????????/

Hello, okay cool will see you all on 16th and slink, will look for a rose! I will probably get there for 10.30 as I need to leave about 1pm ish. If I fail to find a rose then just look out for the short chinese lady! Jane, might bump into you on the E3.
Slink, just so you know, the cafe is based between two primary schools and you have to walk through the playground, there are signs though so you shouldn't get lost.
Janeybop, am sure snakes and ladders is still going ahead.

dd still poorly, some stomach bug I suspect, and now ds is starting to throw up more often than usual as well. Oh the joys of motherhood!
