Any meet-ups in the Ealing Area?

Hi there, just had ds, now 7 weeks old. My dd will be 3 in December. Been living in the area for a few years now, but since not working in the City anymore after having dd finding it really hard to meet up with friends (with or without kids) as they all seem to live on the other side of town and it takes ages to get there... quite a challenge with 2 little ones I found (still getting used to having 2 around!)

So looking for new contacts/friends in the area. Been to a few toddler groups before ds came along, but somehow most mothers already seem to be very cliquety and it's hard to 'break in'. Even if I get to chat to someone at e.g. the playground it never evolves, even though I try to be very approachable...

So if you're in the Ealing Area and want to meet up for a chat, tea, coffee or the like ...

P.S. Also I'm German so bringing little ones up bi-lingually if anyone wants to 'expose' their kids to some foreign tones

janeybops · 29/10/2004 21:46

yingers74 · 31/10/2004 13:49

I guess the chiswich meet up should happen a week after the snakes and ladders?

MrsBigD · 31/10/2004 17:30

OP posts:
yingers74 · 31/10/2004 20:27

every day but friday!

janeybops · 31/10/2004 20:32

Not sure if I can make it if it is a day o suit some of you who can't make the snakes and ladders as I seem to work the days that you can make a meet up so will have to give the chiswick cafe one a miss.

Looking forward to snakes and ladders though!

yingers74 · 01/11/2004 14:33

mrsbigd, out of interest, what groups did you go to and are you still going? Would be happy to meet you at one of these.

Slink · 01/11/2004 14:41

Jane 313 sorry not been on for a while i can get to chiswick when are we meeting up??

yingers74 · 01/11/2004 14:44

slink, i think we are saying the week after they go to snakes and ladders, w/c 15th i think!

MrsBigD · 01/11/2004 17:34

yingers74 - haven't been to groups in ages as I was working full time and dd was with childminder in acton. Used to go to Action kids in Pitshangerlane for a while when she was about 18 months. Sometimes also went and now go again as on maternity with ds to the Playcenter in Pitshanger park.

which groups do you go to? I'd love to get a bit more active in the 'mums arena' (for lack of a better idea what to call it )

yingers74 · 01/11/2004 21:58

hello, go to action kids in acton, a family reading group in acton library, candenza in ealing town hall, and a few ealing 135 play sessions. I love the park best but the winter is upon us now!

MrsBigD · 01/11/2004 22:49

yingers - wow you're keeping yourselfs busy! Where's the action kids in Acton and when?

OP posts:
yingers74 · 02/11/2004 13:15

It is held at priory community centre which is behind acton town hall, and close to the swimming pool and the courts. I can't remember the road it is on, in fact I have never known!

MrsBigD · 03/11/2004 10:00

I think I know the one. Been there for a birthday party. Do you still go yingers?

OP posts:
yingers74 · 03/11/2004 14:42

on and off, I mix and match with the library or park. I used to go religiously, but dd is at the age where she is too old for the early class and a little too young for the later class. She also had a terrible habit of wondering off!

Slink · 03/11/2004 19:35

tHANKS YINGERS LET ME KNOW THE DETAILS AND HOPEFULLY I CAN MAKE IT sorry about the caps
