stepfordwife · 09/10/2007 16:44

oh, paddle, what a bummer. hope you're tucking into udon noodles to make up for it..

liking all your fave words.at an old job, we used to have competitions to see who could the most unlikely "word of the week" kinto something. how we laughed...

SJ - yes, the garden at the science museum is fab, isn't it?

stepfordwife · 09/10/2007 16:48

weave the most unlikely word , that is..
that's a good idea from kew, paddle...
unlike her decision to cast a negative light on my parenting skills on another thread

sfxmum · 09/10/2007 16:48

ah you see that country was a dictatorship until 1974 it takes time to let go of official ways of driving it's citizens mad

paddle I was looking forward to you going and showing us pic of you all dolled up

SJ it is fantastic! love the water play and the sound areas too.
at the NHM there's the earthquake simulation which dd really liked in that feckless way of toddlers

rosmonster · 09/10/2007 17:19

erm, can someone help? There's a funny looking thing in the sky, all yellow and strange...

Paddlechick666 · 09/10/2007 17:24

i only definately of one other person going and they're really a no go.

i asked my friend who's organising it if i could bring a friend but she's had to say no as lots of other people asked the same thing.

i've got casual drinks on friday night. will have to pretend to my mother that i am still going otherwise she'll have doubts about taking dd home tomorrow.

actually i've got doubts about her taking dd too. that'll be weds adn thurs eves without her just so i can go out for a drink on friday.

didn't do wagamama, traffic round richmond was a nightmare and couldn't find a park that wasn't £50 a minute!

swimming was good even tho the teaching pool was closed. went in the main pool and dd is getting so confident now. it was freezing in there tho!

sfx, can you do an express delivery for the passport? i don't think that's affected by the strike. am also at your birth cert expiring!

sfxmum · 09/10/2007 17:33

paddle can you do with the break? if so do it don't feel guilty you will feel better in the end.

I don't have an original birth cert, no parents to ask about it, so every time I need a document I need to ask for a copy from some obscure department, which is duly issued but is only valid for one year so if I need it again...bla bla bla.at least these days I can do it online instead of bribing counting on distant relative to get it for me in Lisbon

ros 'tis the god Helio give thanks

Kewcumber · 09/10/2007 20:14

I'm about to go wild and make myself a tuna sandwich for dinner. Oh yum.

rosmonster · 09/10/2007 20:49

I had chips

Paddlechick666 · 09/10/2007 20:52

HAHAAA!

I just found a tin of rice pudding in the pantry!

sell by date was July but i don't care!

bunyanvillas · 09/10/2007 21:08

I regularly have toast for dinner but tonight had roast vegetables with fresh thyme and pasta - and just about to round it all off with a Mr Kipling cherry bakewell. Life doesn't get much better.

rosmonster · 09/10/2007 21:30

lol at our combined culinary expertise - Cov would have a heart attack

Paddlechick666 · 09/10/2007 21:54

i put strawberry jam in it, surely that puts it into the gourmet bracket?

Kewcumber · 09/10/2007 22:06

I had some mushroom soup with mine so a two course feast.

I can actually cook - did a Prue Leith course. You wouldn;t think it now though!

Off to bed to try catching up with some sleep.

I'm taking DS swimming on Friday before lunch - aorund 11am if anyone wants to join in.

Has anyone rung Indy yet? I wonder if I should invite her.

Yingers74 · 09/10/2007 22:32

Hello and good night everyone! Despite my best efforts am just completely lost on this thread so think I need to move on now and just give up! Facebook has also probably not helped matters!!!

Wishing you guys all the best, you all seem lovely!

mellow2 · 10/10/2007 08:01

Foxie,

Tired al the time but otherwise fine. Are you back at work now? How's that going?

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 10/10/2007 09:07

happy Nanou birthday!

Yingers, come back! Don't go, you don't need to keep up, just dip in and out when you're able to.

rosmonster · 10/10/2007 09:19

Kew, I tried ringing 2cute but couldn't get through, I have sent her an email as well but not heard anything yet.

Yingers - don't go, like paddle says, you can always dip in and out! Just like Bunyan in fact!

We're off to our music group this morning. Ds got a bit bored with staying in yesterday so think I need to get out as much as poss today

Paddlechick666 · 10/10/2007 09:38

sfx, yes i could probably do with the break but at the same time i will miss dd. the more often she goes to Grandma's the more I seem to miss her!

sfxmum · 10/10/2007 09:50

good morning all

paddle maybe missing is ok if you get some rest but don't feel guilty.

yingers - nobody minds if you dip in&out and show up at a meet up once in a while.

mellow - hello be lovely to see you in December

LOL at the gourmet dinners last night, oh chips have not had that in ages

I must take dd out today as well although she
was fine yesterday finding things to do by herself. might do Kew

but I need to go out otherwise will spend the day obsessing. I had light spotting last night AF due today, but so far nothing it is unnerving I really thought it was happening must get a grip. think now will take this to the ttc boards

foxensteinscreature · 10/10/2007 09:57

Paddle, why don't you come over to CoV's on saturday with us instead. You can wear your fabby dress and bra and we can all get jealous!! Seriously, you should come out to play It'll be fun and you will get your dinner cooked for you by CoV

Mellow am very tired - DS2 feeding hourly. DD is very sick and off school again atm. I might phone GP as she is out cold and vomited last night and she had a very bad fall on Monday, bashing her poor lil' head

Work in tself is fine, except I can barely stay awake as I get no sleep atm

FX - LOL at your embassy and beaurocracy !!! Really!!

I like the word Noooodle - also like eating them too! I like the word BUM too - think its funny, but then I am rather chilish at times

Our lodger appears to have moved his stuff out, without returning the keys or paying the final weeks rent. He seems to have forgotten that I hve his deposit snuggled safely in my bank account LOL!!

ComeOVeneer · 10/10/2007 10:00

Morning all. I have been hit by the lurgy, all achey, headache, sore throat etc.I seem to get sick a lot more since stopping working. Think I am around the children too much . Last night dh and I had a ready meal as I felt so rotten so I am hardly in a position to judge others' suppers. Had no internet connection yesterday so I was surprisingly productive. Had the car serviced which involved me having to walk 3 miles home in the pouring rain, then 3 mile round trip at lunchtime to fetch ds from nursery and a 2 mile trip to school for dd then 1 mile to garage with dd moaning all the way ALL in the pouring rain. We get the car drive home and as I pull into the driveway the bl**dy sun comes out. I'm sure all that rain is what has made me sick.

ComeOVeneer · 10/10/2007 10:02

Yes paddle you are more than welcome at mine on Saturday .

foxensteinscreature · 10/10/2007 10:03

sfx - those piddle sticks are about £22 for 7. If you use them only when you are due to ovulate each month, you can make the 7 last over three months. I foun them useful in pinpointing when ovulation happens. I had thought it happened when I got the little pain but it actually happens a about 36-48 hrs after the pain. I have a really good bbook you can borrow - its actually called "chossing the sex of your child" but has the most comprehensive info about ovulation I have ever read. Its very detailed about how and when to conceive. I used it for both DD and DS2 - although for DS2 we weren't bothered about gender, it was still useful in helping pinoint ovuation patterns etc

Kewcumber · 10/10/2007 10:05

Paddle - one of the shocks to me as a single parent was that although I am occasionally desparate for a break, when DS isn't around things just aren't the same and I don't feel right. Mum has DS overnight on Saturday for Cov's do and I just know I won't sleep well and will be round there at 8am!

I imagine its worse with her being that bit further away. At least I can gatecrash when I've had enough solitude. And this from teh woman who thought the biggest problem with having a child was learning to share my space with someone else. I don't seem to have any 'space' anymore and struggle with it when I do.

ComeOVeneer · 10/10/2007 10:06

Foxy did I get this right, you are peeing on sticks to see when you ovulate? Did I miss something?
