For when the August thread runs out.

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 05/10/2007 20:39

hi sfx, they deffo do lunch not but i don't think they open till 6pm for dinner.

otherwise i'd recommend wagamama. very child friendly and delicious into the bargain. not quite thai but i've found some of the dishes have a thai slant to them.

enjoy!

well, my visitors have texted that their 3yr old hasn't been well this arvo. she's been sick once but has perked up a bit since then.

they're asking if i want them to stay away in case it's a bug.

am torn, firstly am soooo looking forward to seeing them. secondly, have a tonne of food altho it's only half stuff as we split the food/shopping. thirdly, not sure i can face dd getting sick.

what would you do?

stepfordwife · 05/10/2007 20:45

i'd tell them to give you a bell in the morning, paddle. if she's not sick again this evening, unlikely it's a bug.
they often do a one-off vom, don't they? i know dd does from coughing too much or f eaten something she's not used to.
DISCLAIMER: if you follow this advice, and she does give a bug to your dd, you cannot hold stepfordwife Ltd responsible for resultant hassle..

TheSFXshape · 05/10/2007 20:51

yes thanks Paddle we were trying to avoid wagamama and the girafe which is were we always end up and I crave tofu curry thing

Paddlechick666 · 05/10/2007 20:52

yeah i said to see how things were on the 'morrow too.

how come i fantasise about lovely quiet time when dd has gone to bed. then when she has gone to bed i miss her and want to see her?

wtf!

MrsRecycle · 05/10/2007 20:53

steppie - get back working woman!! lol at ds1.

Talking of kids - dds say hi to you all - they're sitting here next to me.

foxie - we most definitely have to compare ds - mine is a right chubby thing now.

TheSFXshape · 05/10/2007 20:53

being a mother is an altered state of mind my dear it has it's own logic just surrender

Paddlechick666 · 05/10/2007 20:54

ah well, fair enough then. i do lurve fatboys! just checked the take-away menu and they're open 11:30 till 3:30 then again at 6pm

TheSFXshape · 05/10/2007 20:59

I knew you would be the right person to ask Paddle

hi to MrsR little ones

stepfordwife · 05/10/2007 21:02

mrsr...i AM working. honest, guv!

sfx..(gobby) ds1's fave restaurant is don fernandos nxt to richmond station. sure you've been but does good tapas. quite child-friendly - especially as the service is really quick.
and you can have a cheeky glass of cava.
what's not to like?
....now you're going to tell me
a) you've been there
b) you think it's bollox

stepfordwife · 05/10/2007 21:04

oh, yes, {smile] to mrsr's dds
ISN'T IT BED-TIME YET???

stepfordwife · 05/10/2007 21:04

that is

Paddlechick666 · 05/10/2007 21:05

don fernandos got a good rep in the LondonLite last night.

not that that actually means anything.

just saying like.........

okay, i'll admit it, i'm a teensy bit sad n lonely

have been ignoring H's attempts at communication all week (altho last attempt was weds) but feeling sad about it all now.

someone give me a kick up the arse please.

MrsRecycle · 05/10/2007 21:05

steppie - I like it there as well - maybe we should arrange the wl mumsnet xmas do there! Oh and all that Sangria as well.

sfx - they've just prised themselves off my arms and gone off to bed.

MrsRecycle · 05/10/2007 21:06

oh my single brother is sitting here with me at the moment - I could arrange a virtual blind date. But you've had it with men I bet!!

TheSFXshape · 05/10/2007 21:08

not been steppie but you are recommending a Spanish place to a Portuguese person
sounds good

Paddle don't beat yourself up about it maybe it is not so bad he is trying despite usual behaviour

rosmonster · 05/10/2007 21:12

paddle, sorry not much advice from me I'm afraid! I'd get a funny/soppy film on with lots of wine & choc to try and help cheer up

Ds has been a nightmare this afternoon, so much so I've had to instigate the naughty corner . He'd cry and wail and have a tantrum, then stop to have a look and see if I was watching! Have to say it did actually work, I was amazed, only tried it because saying 'no, do not hit' wasn't working anymore!

Paddlechick666 · 05/10/2007 21:12

ah well, the underlying reason for the attempt is that he's now working in teddington and is eager to move into the house as that is what we agreed to happen.

he's only texting to find out when i am moving out.

which makes me and

mrsR, is he cute? is he funny?

but, probably, you're right.

it's going to take someone extra special for me to put my toe in the water again at some far distant point.

don't stop ya feeling sorry for yerself on occasion tho eh!

stepfordwife · 05/10/2007 21:13

good idea, mrsr!

sorry sfx...didn't mean to spark a diplomatic furore

oh paddle, it's hard, isn't it? you can think someone's acting like a dipstick (ooohhh, gone all fools and horses) but still care for them, eh?
anyhows, just think how fab you're gong to look at the ball (cinderella) and indulge in a bit of flirting..(forgotten how to do it myself, mind, so don't ask for any tips)

Paddlechick666 · 05/10/2007 21:14

hi ros, yep crap telly isn't helping. good idea on wine, will have a glass now!

TheSFXshape · 05/10/2007 21:14

an Ugly Betty is on that and Scrubs always make me laugh

stepfordwife · 05/10/2007 21:15

flirting doesn't = dipping your toe in the water, btw
it's just flirting

TheSFXshape · 05/10/2007 21:16

oh sorry paddle that takes some cheek how selfish and self centred.

absolutely flirtthere is nothing wrong in indulging in fantasies - ever

stepfordwife · 05/10/2007 21:17

oh, isn't tat tudors thing on? sure it's rubbish but i do rather like that jonathan whatishisname in it...and don't usually like pretty boys.

Paddlechick666 · 05/10/2007 21:22

ah i'm just feeling maudlin i guess.

yes i'd intended to watch the tudor thing but it's half way thru now.

may just eat some peanut butter toast and go to bed.

and yes, sfx, from monday thru wednesday he hectored me on text and msn about when i was moving. final text was something like "i know you don't want to chat but i need to know a timescale for moving".

his double standards are extraordinary seeing as how he can effect radio silence when he's supposed to be visiting his child but can't cope.

tosser!

ps: wouldn't have a clue how to flirt!

rosmonster · 05/10/2007 21:25

oh, that is just crap paddle, Am for you, though that probably doesn't help either!
