As I'm guessing Des is probably back from holiday now, anyone want to start arranging a new meet up (for old and new).

Ashton Court was suggested.

Do I have any offers

yep see you 2nd august at 2pm Ashton court. I'll bring a football eh?

Sixer · 17/07/2007 22:31

NO No NO No No oh Bollocks. Can't do 2nd August. Just went to mark it on the calendar, I have a dental appointment. Probably one of the very few 30 somethings that has regreted not wearing a brace when younger. So strawberry poo bums. I'll have to give this one a miss. Was so looking forward to the meet up as well. Sorry.

Desiderata · 29/07/2007 15:12

That's a shame, sixer.

I suggest we meet at the cafe. It's easier than saying by the old oak tree at 45 degrees due north of the front elevation of the 18th century bit.

Wouldn't you agree

BBBee · 29/07/2007 23:21

Real long shot here but starting from Sept I will be hoping to rent a room one night a week in Bristol for University term time only. I will arrive late and leave - early, just needs to be a bed.

Anyone know anyone?

Will pay.

TheArmadillo · 30/07/2007 21:21

Just checking it's all still on.

Cafe soudns good (though I did like teh tree thing - be a bit like a treasure hunt ).

Sorry you can't make it Sixer, maybe next time?

BBB - the only person I know who has a house with spare rooms has currently let them all out ... to some extremely sexy Poles

I don't think you'll have any problems finding a room. I'll keep my eyes peeled in the local press, etc.

SO, we meet on Thursday, at the Cafe, at 2pm. Am I correctomundo?

How do we recognize each other?

DixiePixie · 31/07/2007 16:14

I'm planning to be there. I just need to work out where abouts the cafe is in Ashton Court and which buses I need to get!

I've met Crookshanks and TheArmadillo before, so maybe there will be an obvious group of MNers

Desiderata · 31/07/2007 19:30

If you're going from the City Centre, Dixie - it's easiest to get the Long Ashton Park and Ride. From there, just head left to the Long Ashton entrance to Ashton Court.

The bus stop's opposite (ish) the Hippodrome. It says 'All buses to Long Ashton' at the bottom of the bus stop sign.

I've just found out that Ashton Court is closed to cars in preparation for the Balloon Fiesta. So everyone who's driving - again, I'd suggest that your park in the Park and Ride car park.

DixiePixie · 31/07/2007 20:48

Thanks Desiderata

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 31/07/2007 20:57

Oooh think I'll park up in centre and get the bus in that case - fingers crossed that DS is ok after his jabs and I can make it! Haven't met Desi before but have met the Armadillo and Dixie Pixie....lovely lovely all of you!

Mind you, after reading Desi's full moon comments, will she be safe???!!

Desiderata · 31/07/2007 20:59

Ha ha ha!

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 31/07/2007 21:06

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 31/07/2007 21:09

Arghh!!!

I'm guessing you are tall then? I'm a right short arse myself....bleugh!

Desiderata · 31/07/2007 22:20

I meant my knitting needles, you arse

Desiderata · 31/07/2007 23:52

By the way, Dixie, the Park and Ride is every ten minutes. It's a big double-decker aubergine coloured bus (usually).

Oddly, it has LONG ASHTON PARK AND RIDE on the front.

It will be £2.50 return for you (I think).

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 01/08/2007 16:02

Duh huh!!! ha ha!!!

TheArmadillo · 01/08/2007 16:07

ok dumb question (you may laugh if you like).

If I decide to catch bus (which looks likely) how will I know when to get off?

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 01/08/2007 16:17

If you take the Park and Ride, you get off ... at the Park and Ride

If you go by city bus to Long Ashton, ring the bell as soon as the bus turns into the village. The gate house of Ashton Court is right in front of you.

Is this going to be a huge hassle for everyone? Does anyone want to go somewhere else?

TheArmadillo · 01/08/2007 16:29

YOu're angling to go to the city beach aren't you

I'm not fussed if anyone wants to swop. I can get to most places.

OP posts:
Desiderata · 01/08/2007 16:35

The city beach wouldn't be a bad idea. Ashton Court is spectacularly easy for me, but I hadn't factored in the parking problem.

It's central ... what d'ya all say?
