Brand new thread for a new month.

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 02/04/2007 10:02

lol @ little sfx talking in her sleep. despite dd being a total chatterbox luckily it hasn't spread to sleep time yet!

that cough is a sticker isn't it. dd is still pretty full of it too.

at least whilst she was sicky her nose stopped running but it's back with a vengeance today.

guess the body can only do so much!

foxcub · 02/04/2007 10:10

Sue - saw your DS this morning at school - he's so cute

Yipee re the walking!!!

ComeOVeneer · 02/04/2007 10:28

Morning all. Glad to hear dd is on the mend paddle. We had a similar bug a while back, started with dd (over in 12ish hours) then it hit me and ds within 10 mins of each other and dh an hour later. Made for a pretty miserable night as you can imagine.

Sorry you didn't get to Ele's on Saturday Foxy, midless vandalism like that makes me so . I hope you manage to make it to another one soon. Actually DH is away the weekend of 20th of April. I am happy to host something on the Sat afternoon.

foxcub · 02/04/2007 11:02

ooh yes, please someone host another daytime meet so I can come this time

suejonez · 02/04/2007 11:38

he si cute isn't he - I do like to hear that you saw him. I got him to walk to my mum at Kew on Sunday as a surprise - I so wished I had a camera with me [stupid emoticon]

sfxmum · 02/04/2007 16:24

oh is master Sj walking? well done!

glorious at kew today but well packed stuck to secluded places as much as possible, only back because tesco man is due

paddle - dd's night talk is mostly about cbeebies

Paddlechick666 · 02/04/2007 18:11

well, had to make a mercy dash to CM early arvo as she'd taken a turn for the worse.

dr says chest infection plus gastro/bug poor little thing.

she's just had a sleep but so far hasn't been sick for about 3 hours now so.....

lol @ little sfx, t'would be the same in our house tbh. lots of EhO! and TellyTubby Bye Bye!

suejonez · 02/04/2007 19:27

he is indeed SFX, though only a few steps not full blown walking but he is doing them fairly consistently

foxcub · 02/04/2007 19:54

paddle - oh your poor dd - has the GP prescribed anything for her?

Paddlechick666 · 02/04/2007 20:02

at what point do you get seriously worried about temperature?

can't believe i don't know this!

she's up to 38.9, she's sleeping fitfully. breathing quite heavily but to be expected with the chest infection i guess.

dr gave ABs for the chest and calpol.

foxcub · 02/04/2007 20:04

Paddle - if you're worried call the out of hours number.

Don't ask me about temperatures though - we don't even own a thermometer I just use my instinct - i.e. you know when your child is seriously sick

is she keeping anything down now?

Paddlechick666 · 02/04/2007 20:09

i rang nhs direct, 4 hour call back.

she hasn't been sick since 2:45 and has had ABs and calpol and a reasonable amount of water.

retches occasionally in her sleep but nothing comign up.

sfxmum · 02/04/2007 21:37

oh paddle poor dd according to my books,
symptoms that start like a cold with a cough then vomiting, chills, possible chest / tummy pain and temp between 38.9-40 needs medical attention particularly if there is rapid breathing,
but and chances are it is just a tummy bug at a bad time, hope she is better soon.

sue - it really starts like that it is just so cute

Paddlechick666 · 02/04/2007 22:00

well, it's been a tough evening but she's finally cooled down a little and consented to sleep somewhere other than on me!

dh should be back shortly.

really should utilise this opportunity to go the loo and get a drink but where am i? on MN!

sfx, thanks for the advice. will take her up to A&E if necessary.

typical that she rallies just before daddy gets here!

suejonez · 02/04/2007 22:07

I hope things improve Paddle, I'll be thinking of you (not much practical help I know...)

2Cute · 02/04/2007 23:08

Hey everyone!

I've had one hell of a week, first I got ill and then DS so I have no idea whats going on. Could someone kindly update me on what's been happening? Pretty please???? Can't remember the last time I was this sick, I just returned to the human race over the weekend!

Paddle - Just skim read the posts below and see that your DD's also been unwell Hope she has a quick recovery.

There's nothing quite like cleaning up someone elses sick (even if it is our own little monsters) when you're sick yourself. DS was shrieking with pain on Friday and doc heard him over the phone so said to bring him to her or A&E in case it was his appendix. On the way DS projectile vomitted in the car, luckily missing the front seats but onto the windscreen etc (sorry TMI)

I definately recommend a trip to Kew to see the petting farm. Took DS today as we REALLY needed to get back out there and he loved it eventhough its meant that he got worn out and temperature returned.

Has anything been decided about the april evening meet-up?

Paddlechick666 · 03/04/2007 07:41

morning all

2cute, that must've been a rought time with ds not feeling well yourself too.

well, nhs direct rang back after about 4 hours! they put a call in to the dr who rang at 1am just when we'd all gone to sleep!

they asked same sort of questions about appendix etc. but it's not that.

dd had a sleep/cry/sleep night so we're all a bit jaded.

she's still pretty grizzly today. dr advised water and nothing else but calpol....

dh is off to work and i feel every so slightly jealous! horrible mummy I am!

another at home day for us - 2 dvds on rotation with the odd bit of cbeebies!

nopudstilleaster · 03/04/2007 09:17

Paddle, hope dd picks up today. If you want any company then give us a call and I can pop round.

Hi 2cute, glad you and ds are feeling better now.

Eleusis · 03/04/2007 09:30

Ah, so this is where everyone is. I thought it had gone rather quiet. I have only skimmed the thread -- no time to catch up properly. Sorry about the sick little paddle.

COV, if you have a get together, count us in.

So, are we having a night out in April?? Prioritues, girls. These things really do need to be discussed.

Foxie, yes I heard about the winscreen. So sorry! I fed your salmon to the kids for dinner. They both prosted it (something about the spimach content) so I made them eat the next morning for breakfast. [eveil mummy emoticon] To be fair I think DS was just tired and couldn't really eat anything. But, for DD it was definately a protest. Okay, she's 4 now. When do the terrible twos end?

sfxmum · 03/04/2007 09:33

morning all

hi 2cute nice to see you around and glad you are better

paddle lovely that dd seems to be on the mend

dd active dreams are becoming more active! it takes some getting used to i tell you.

if i manage to pull it together i will take her swimming today

suejonez · 03/04/2007 09:34

Eleusis - my mum says the first 25 years are the worst and it starts getting better after that...

Paddlechick666 · 03/04/2007 09:39

lol @ sue!

little paddle is snoozing after a nasty bout of D.

pud thanks for the offer but i really don't want to pass anything on to you or your ds.

i think it's all coming out now so hopefully we'll see more improvement as the day goes.

at least i can rest while she does [why am on MN now then lol!]

think dh will have a tough day today but i was a good wifey and made him a nice lunch.

MrsRecycle · 03/04/2007 09:40

never ele! dd2 had a tantrum this morning and wouldn't go to school.

Hi everyone else - pc sorry to hear about dd. puds is right stay off the diary foods but also flat lemonade is very good when they can't keep anything down. Hope she is feeling a bit better. Glad to hear dh is pulling his weight.

Foxie - sorry to hear about your naff weekend. Hope the bf is settling down.

I've got a bit of a hectic one this week - not helped by the AP being sick (again!) and she's not even been here 2 weeks.

quokka · 03/04/2007 09:43
