bunyanvillas... Marlow is lovely ; as for terrible 2's... I'm there too... finding it rather soul destroying at times. I'm glad I've got a garage I can go into to scream

bunyanvillas · 19/03/2007 09:41

Glad to hear I am not alone, although sorry that things are not that easy at your end! Soul destroying is a good way of putting it Perhaps I need to move to Marlow and get a garage, lol

suejonez · 19/03/2007 10:30

OK I'm off tomorrow and if the weather continues to be cold, does anyone fancy Lollipop at some point?

Eleusis · 19/03/2007 12:19

Does anyone fancy a trip to Kew C and C (or anywhere else) on Thursday? I'm taking the day off work. DD has requested that we go to C and C, but I'm sure she could be persuaded to elsewhere.

bunyanvillas · 19/03/2007 12:44

Sue, Lollipop wld be good tomorrow - any time after midday for me as have finally caved in and found a cleaner to sort this pit out - and she starts tomorrow morning, hurrah!

mellow2 · 19/03/2007 14:12

Ele,
I've working on dh now. He's had an earful already so hopefully it'll be a better mother's day next year.

Btw, if anyone really likes hot (and I mean hot!) food I would highly recommend the place we got our Chinese takeway, Yun Kim on Great West Road. The food was pretty good but it was incredibly spicy. It bills itself as Oriental food from India, of all things!

Someone on the W4 forums had recommended it. I will definitely go back again and pick dishes without chili.

Don't let him tell you you are overreacting. In fact, the only really fair compensation now is for him to buy you a weekend away with a friend and he can look after little mellow in the atime. I hear they have nice spas in Harrogate.

Men are like dogs. Some can be trained. And some are just plain dumb.

sfxmum · 19/03/2007 15:05

hello
goodness it is quiet here today

dd seems recovered and sleeping through again so fingers crossed, hope all LO are recovering too.

we are off to the science museum tomorrow so can't do lollipop although i am sure it will feature sometime this week, as well as a trip to the pool.

foxie funny i always had one side which hurt more than the other because dd used to find it hard to latch on properly.

the rugby hold position for those who don't know is just feeding with dc under the arm instead of across the front iyswim

hope you are all keeping well

Eleusis · 19/03/2007 15:24

So, no one wants to come out and play with me on Thursday morning?

suejonez · 19/03/2007 15:25

sorry ele I'm working

suejonez · 19/03/2007 15:26

take fridays off in future!

Eleusis · 19/03/2007 15:31

Cant. It's DD's birthday. So I take off the day it falls on.

ComeOVeneer · 19/03/2007 16:09

Can't do Thursday either Ele, as I have plans with friend and her ds in the am and awaiting a delivery in the pm then dd has a friend over after school, and then I am out for dinner.

xoxo · 19/03/2007 16:26

Ele: the old yummy mummy has mum and daughter 'treat' days.
manicure, pedicure, my first leg wax etc.
Or - big girls haircut day? ,
I work Thursdays, so I'm out .

Eleusis · 19/03/2007 16:33

"My first leg wax"? She is 4. She does not have leg hair.

Besides, we'll have 22 month DS in tow. Maybe we'll just put DS in the Creche in Kingston and go shopping.

suejonez · 19/03/2007 16:36

pmsl at ele and dd having leg waxes for her birthday. Personally I wouldn;t think that much of a birthday treat!

2Cute · 19/03/2007 16:40

Sorry to hear your mothers day was a crappy mellow. Mine was the same

Warning...

Spent most of the weekend in tears feeling sorry for myself, combination of PMS, flu and thick DH. Argues with DH on Saturday because he buggered off to hockey knowing full well that I had a temperature, thumping head and had to entertain DS all day. He said that I cannot expect him to "drop his commitments" just because I'm feeling unwell! Excuse me, what about that teeney weeney commitment he made me 'marriage'

He stayed dumb struck and made no plans or effort whatsoever to cheer me up yesterday though he did managed to get a little present (which is a first for him). So I sulked in bed all morning. Went to the monster in laws in the afternoon but got back home too late to put DS down for his nap so ended up putting him to bed early, meaning we couldn't even go out for dinner. Typical DH didn't even think about child care.

Am I unreasonable wanting to be spoilt a little on birthdays/mothers days etc? From now on I'm going to take DS shopping and buy myself VERY expensive presents on special days to teach DH a lesson.

Where's Ele? She's good at making everyone feel better when DHs are being crappy.

Ok moan over.... Sorry for the bore.

2Cute · 19/03/2007 16:45

2cute has got a grip now...

Afternoon all

Ele - I might be up for going out Thursday...(not if if means leg waxing....!)

Sue - I'm going to be at DS's potential (fingers crossed) school tomorrow morning but am free after 3pm. Is that too late for you?

Foxi - Hope BF is improving.

foxcub · 19/03/2007 16:49

Ele - sorry I'm not back in circulation yet for this Thurs.

MrsD - would love to come to your housewarming - thanks for the invitation. I'll need you to remind me again nearer the time though as brain not working atm.

Mellow - have texted my new e-mail address to you

Sue - sorry about confusion over days - brain not working atm

SFX/Sue - I need to ask my CM if she can do school run first as its easier for her than for you (she lives 5 doors doen and goes to the school anyway) - but may take you up on the 8.30am school run if she can't do it!!!

Suzie - you're very welcome specially as you're older than me (I'm 43 and a half)!!

Paddle - tried to call you back evenetually but your line was engaged

Oxo - I don't like that rugby tackle position actually as it damages my nips.

have been on a low today (seeing as I'm allowed to moan): DH back at work, both kids off school sick (DS1 has a very nasty ear infection), I have flu and feel as though I've swallowed razor blades, nips sore, whole body achey and couldn't get to baby cafe this morning as all too sick to walk down there.

Phoned community midwife team:

Me: "Hi, could you tell me when the next MW visit is, and could I get some help with BFing?"

Patronising cow on the other end: "Well, we can't do it for you, you and "baby" just have to practice."

WTF does she think I do all day atm, apart from practice BFing?

Doh!

Both BF counsellor and MW say my latch is fine, but I have a huge chunk of skin missing form left nip which is excrutiating. Think I got that from rugby position last week, when trying to drain blocked duct.

On the positive side, both boobs are now producing milk and little Monti is a like a dream baby, he's so good [mega lurve vibes emoticon]

Eleusis · 19/03/2007 16:52

I'm here. I'm here. Avoiding my stupid weekly report as usual.

2cute.... why were you at the inlaws? PLEASE tell me you did not go ti HIS mum's house so he could celebrate mother's day with her and neglect you. This happened in my house once. It will never happen again.

They should give mother's Day training for Men as part of antenatal classes.

And, good idea to gou out shopping, but leave DS with his dad.

foxcub · 19/03/2007 16:52

Puds - thanx for your offer - only just saw it!

2cute - you and me both feeling crap then?

foxcub · 19/03/2007 16:57

Oh and while I'm moaning, did I mention that my Dad came over unannounced and uninvited yesterday?

He rang my Mum in the morning and said "is there any thing she needs (i.e. a welcome Monti pressie). My Mum says "TBH she's really appreciate a cheque, so she can put it towards something useful"

So he turns up with one baby sleepsuit

I could really do with a new double buggy so a cheque would have been great.

Stingy bastard. He doesn't know that I know he asked my Mum and that she suggested a cheque.

My sister got married last year and he never even bought them a wedding present!

Anyway I was feeding so didn't go downstairs to greet him

....moan over

Eleusis · 19/03/2007 17:16

Sorry, 2cute, forgot to respond to you. Can you do Thursday morning? I'm pondering whether or not to send DD to school on Thursday. But, right now I'm leaning towards having her go. So, that means we need to be at Twickenham Green at 12:30. We could do C and C in the morning, or something else if you have any suggestions.

heypickme · 19/03/2007 17:27
