nopudstilleaster · 19/03/2007 17:34

Hi all

I don't think I'll be able to do any meet ups this week as ds starts nursery on Friday & he's got two settling in sessions tomorrow & Thursday. But hope everyone has a nice time!

Foxie, no probs, like I said if you want a hand give me a call.

sfxmum · 19/03/2007 18:09

hi all

sorry ele not ignoring post didn't really read thread properly, not sure what will do on thu, but i try to avoid C&C unless the weather allows for a good walk around the gardens

leg wax sounds like punishment to me, have heard of mini makeover parties but i find that scary and sinister

2cute so sorry kick the bastard, and putting up with inlaws as well, frankly go out and get yourself a present

  • good luck with the school

puds hope all goes well at nursery

foxie - MW & HV are stupid evil women put on this earth to blight us, with all due respect.
moan away

mrsD thanks for invite would love to go

susie40 · 19/03/2007 18:32

Eleusis, we were there from about 11.10 till about 2pm. I was wearing jeans and a red fleece. DS (3.5) and DH both have long hair, long enough to be mistaken for a girl even when wearing camoflage combats in the case of DS, and right down his back in a ponytail in the case of DH.

bunyanvillas · 19/03/2007 19:03

Foxie, a friend of mine has a couple (so I believe!) of double buggys that she needs to get rid of so if you like I could find out what type they are, what condition they are in etc. Let me know! She kind of got carried away when expecting her ds and bought three! Hope you are all feeling a little better, sounds as though you are having a v rough time I went to a breastfeeding clinic at West Mid (which you prob already know about)which was quite good.

2Cute · 19/03/2007 19:45

Thanks for cheering me up

Ele - Yep, I know I'm a twat for going along with him to the MILs. If you find a training course for men let me know for sure. I actually feel guilty for blasting him, I'm weak I tell ya, weak! I'm easy, C & C, Kingston, Lollipop, Snakes & Ladders you choose.

Sorry I was too busy in self absorbed moaning earlier to welcome the newbies. Big wave to Susie & heypickme! I'm a SAHM of one DS aged 3, live in Whitton.

Foxi - Poor you and DCs Give me a yell if you need anything.

BigD - Definately up for your house warming

suejonez · 19/03/2007 20:00

Foxie, CM has given Monti a little present to give you. I think she has room in car for your on Wednesday (?) so call her - its hardly out of her way is it!

Tomorrow, I'd prefer something in the morning to be honest but in the absence of better offers I will hit Mothercare cafe in the morning and Lollipop at 3pm.

Paddle are you around tomorrow?

suejonez · 19/03/2007 20:01

heypickme are you smugly rading tales of BF/sickness/sleeping from your lofty position of having teenagers? Or are we just going to swap one set of problems for another?

bunyanvillas · 19/03/2007 20:47

Will prob do le lollipop club early arvo, Sue, so perhaps see you there. Short post - off for emergency G&T (hmm, I seem to say that on here a lot) and some toenail painting in front of the football (his choice, not mine!). Will quickly scan the Guardian to see if I can engage my slighty addled brain

nopudstilleaster · 19/03/2007 21:19

I would probably be able to get to Lollipop for 3-ish after ds has had his nap tomorrow, but doesn't it close at 3 on some days? Might be worth ringing to check

Paddlechick666 · 19/03/2007 21:24

evening all

foxie, i emailed you. sorry was on a phone conf earlier.

working tomorrow sue, my days are all confused this week as selfish mother going on cruise of the Rhone!

honestly, you just can't get the staff these days!

oh well, sofa bed for me again tonight. at least i can watch telly in bed LOL!

bunyanvillas · 19/03/2007 21:27

Ohhh thanks for the heads up, Puds, will give them a shout in the morning re: opening hours. Night, all ...

trying2bgood · 19/03/2007 21:31

Gosh, you guys have been busy! I have been completely knocked out with this flu/cold bug which totally took me by surprise. I thought I could struggle through and carry on like normal but this just led to the sore throat and ear ache from hell! Am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hurray! DH gave me no sympathy and just could not get his head around the idea that I am ill! No worries as have learnt to equally be unsympathetic when he is ill! Must start taking vit pills again!

Mothers day was non-existant for me, we did go for a mother's day lunch but for my MIL not me! I don't mind so much as I think these days are largely a big waste of money, dh also gets nothing on fathers day! My dd1 made me a card and nursery gave her a little box of marshmellows to give to me! She gave me the box and then promptly ate the marshmellows telling me that she was doing me a favour as I had a sore throat!!!! Aren't kids grand!

Heypickme! Welcome! Am also on the piccadily line!

foxcub · 19/03/2007 23:03

t2bg - your dd sounds like mine - i found her squeezing Monti's orange oral medicine into her mouth 'cos it tastes like sweets

Eleusis · 20/03/2007 08:38

I hven't got time toread the thread, but can I just say.....

YIPPEE!!!!!

DD is into the schol of our choice. Most of you know what that is.

Eleusis · 20/03/2007 08:39

Foxie, you might want to check out the website now, it will probably be very slow just after 9:00.

quokka · 20/03/2007 08:50

just popping in for a quick hello, still alive but busy! Will update later with the goings on, mind you it will take me half a day to read it all .

nopudstilleaster · 20/03/2007 08:53

congratulations to your dd eleusis!

suejonez · 20/03/2007 09:55

yes congrats Ele's DD - you could treat her to an eyebrow shape?!

Have sent out the contact details to those who wanted to join, email me if you want to add your suejonez at aol dot com

DS has crashed out at 9.30am he is so tired bed at 8pm woke up at 6am and lots of coughing in between. He seems to be not too ill though if that makes any sense. So I will be available around lunchtime for lollipop at a push could manage as late as three but I suspect he will be ready for anotehr nap by then so 12 noon would suit me better if anyone else can make it.

Poor Foxie sounds rough with this cold/sore throat and her DC's are also ill. Hope she's better soon it must be miserable.

susie40 · 20/03/2007 10:14

2cute, We're not far from you and DS goes to nursery in Whitton. We used to go to the Murray Park toddler group but he's rather outgrown that now.

Foxie - hugely impressed you have the energy to post with 3 to look after including a newborn! My energy levels are definitely going down as middle age creeps up on me.

Eleusis · 20/03/2007 10:29

Susie, forgot to say we must crossed pathes at the museum on Sun. But, I can't reacall anyone by your description. I was pushing a little boy in a pram and DD was running around getting into trouble (what else is new?).

trying2bgood · 20/03/2007 11:37

fox - yep that is something my dd1 would do!

ele - how did you find out so early? I thought that letters etc do not go out till April? I am still dithering whether to accept in-laws money for schooling or not!

Have we made a choice about what April's outing will be? If not, anyone fancy doing something low brow like a pub quiz?

2Cute · 20/03/2007 11:53

Congrats Ele and mini Ele!!!!

Just got back from viewing DS's potential school and DH was really impressed but I think we'll have to wait until next year until we find out if he's in. Is that right Ele seeing as he just turned 3??

Sue - I think the Lollipop does close at 3 but I'm not going to be able to make it earlier. Are you off on Friday? Would be nice to arrange meeting then but morning is out as DS is at nursery.

Susie - BLIMEY, small world!!! I used to take DS to Murray Park. When did you go? What nursery is your DS as (if you don't mind me asking)?

Hope everyone's having a good day and on the mend after the bug.

Eleusis · 20/03/2007 12:55

Different boroughs send the letters at different times. Richmond sent them yesterday, but you could sign on today to see the results, which of course I did the second they were available.

If you are in a London borough and you applied online, you too probably have a date on which you can get the results online.

foxcub · 20/03/2007 13:58

Ele - congrats - I know how it feels to have your hopes pinned on one school and what an anxious wait it is.

So should my DD have had a letter too from LBRUT? We're waiting to hear if she has a place in the church school (should be Ok as she's a sibling and we're practicing, but can't relax until we know). Or do the school send the direct if its a church school?

hmm can't remember - I think with DS, the school handed out letters direct...

Eleusis · 20/03/2007 14:02

It comes direct from Richmond borough. You can get the results online as of 9:00 this morning. Although they were actually there by 8:30 (but they were not there at 5:30... yeah pushy parent want to know NOW alert).

Did you apply online?
