Hi,

Got this started 'cos I think the other thread is going to run out before the end of tomorrow.

OP posts:
suejonez · 17/03/2007 09:15

is it paddle - oh damn had planned to watch it at my sisters house.

Never mind - at home doing tea for me as well then...

suejonez · 17/03/2007 09:16

think I might have found a car to buy - must try to persuade my mum to have Daniel so I can go look at it in peace!

nopudstilleaster · 17/03/2007 09:17

its a 5.30 kickoff for England v Wales today

Paddlechick666 · 17/03/2007 09:20

oooh, what car is it then?

suejonez · 17/03/2007 09:27

vauxhall meriva - about 3 yrs old but only 10,000 miles on the clock.

foxcub · 17/03/2007 10:23

yahay - Happy St Patrick's day - I'll be celebrating with my cup of tea here!

Anyone going out to celebrate it?

I keep reading the threads and when I go to post, Monti starts crying!!

Mellow - I think of BF as a "lost skill", which women used to learn form other women but there is no one to teach it to us now, so we kind of learn by our mistakes.

Mrs R has very kindly offered to come over and show me a latching on technique - are you two both referring to the same technique?

Monti has taken to dropping off every time he goes on the breast now....I mean he's 11 days old FGS, you'd think he'd have got the hang of it all by now.

Paddle Hi [waves]

Sue, do you fancy popping over for a cuppa maybe Monday/Tues? I may go to that baby cafe Monday am if I have enoigh sleep to be able to walk in a straght line.

4 hrs last night.....

I'd forgotten how exhausting newborns are....or maybe I'm just older and tireder now.

Paddlechick666 · 17/03/2007 12:07

no celebrating here. i will have my usual glass or two of wine this evening tho.

foxie, dropped the gels off for you. totally agree with you about the lost art of bf. i had a fab bf counsellor out at hatfield without whom i wouldn't have got to 15 months by any stretch.

car sounds good sue, hope you get a look at it.

mellow2 · 17/03/2007 12:19

I learnt the technique taught by Chloe Fisher.

I just thought it might help you see a few mothers in action.

hello all

had proper lie in today but still feel knackered. dh is taking dd swimming so will have to decide what to do with myself.

foxie hang in there it is quite hard those first weeks, because dd was jaundiced she was pretty sleepy i was told to keep her cool while feeding so she would not be too 'cosy' and drift off to sleep, no idea if it really worked.

dd still coughing but it does not wake her up

suejonez · 17/03/2007 19:19

blimey - have bought a car! MAde my mind up in 5 mins (though spent teh whole day hairing around looking).

10 month old Vauxhall Meriva with 5000 miles on the clock with air con and not one but two sunroofs (thats just greedy). But will have to raid my depleted savings aka pension to pay for it. Still as my mum said - I have kept my last one for 9 years so I do get good value from cars!

Off to my brothers tomorrow DS's first big expedition so will find out what he's like in the car for more than 30 mins.

suejonez · 17/03/2007 19:33

ha ha ha 28-17 (missed the last 30 mins though)

suejonez · 17/03/2007 19:34

sorry typo 27-18

Paddlechick666 · 17/03/2007 19:45

jeez sue was that the score? i missed the whole game!

congrats on the car - you won't be needing the micro-buggy anymore then eh?

well, dd went down awake in her cot and i lay down on the bed nearby and she sent herself off to sleep.

wow, another milestone. mind you she did have a dose of medised so.........

suejonez · 17/03/2007 19:48

wales played well in the bits I saw - defintiely the better team.

Am hyerventilating about the cost of the car and the dent in my savings. Its the accoutnant in me - don;t spend large amounts of (my own) money well...

nopudstilleaster · 17/03/2007 19:56

well done to Wales, definitely the best team !

heypickme · 17/03/2007 19:56

Hi, you all seem really friendly here, can i join in, i dont have any lo's my ds is 15yrs old and my dd is 12yrs, i am a sahm, havent got any friends in the area, oh btw i am from Wembley/Greenford/Harrow, i live on the border of all 3. I am 36 and married. I am shy at first but once you get to know me i am a great laugh, I am originally from Dublin, Ireland............

So can i join you lot there doesnt seem to be anyone answering my post

omg i sound really pathetic dont i lol sorry

suejonez · 17/03/2007 20:00

sorry no more irish people. Oxo and bunyan and foxie (who is a fake Irish person) are more than enough we will call you when one of them concedes to being English really and leaves a vacancy

suejonez · 17/03/2007 20:00

on the otehr hand you are sad and pathetic (by your own admission) so you will fit right in...

heypickme · 17/03/2007 20:01

ok then

nopudstilleaster · 17/03/2007 20:01

hi heypickme, I'm a SAHM as well and have a ds who's 1. You're more than welcome to join us on daytime meets & we're trying to organise our next evening out for April if you can join us.

nopudstilleaster · 17/03/2007 20:02

Also, I'm nicer than some other people on this thread

suejonez · 17/03/2007 20:02

on a marginally serious note - you might find some of our meet-ups a little out of your way but if you're prepared to travel (MrsR comes in from Ruislip and MrsBigD is in Marlow but she is an honorary Ealingite as she has only just moved) we'd love to see you

suejonez · 17/03/2007 20:03

you are so weak Puds - I though we could think up some kind of initiation ceremony and insist it was necessary. Now you've blown it.

heypickme · 17/03/2007 20:04

Ok thank you, i will try and make some of your meet ups, i dont mind traveling, thanx for the welcome too

heypickme · 17/03/2007 20:06

so where abouts are you guys then? i no it says west london...
