OK so was just packing bag to come to the toddler group when dh called to say he is taking the day off as he doesn't have much on. Ds2 sleeping is pretty atrocious at the mo (he's 2 months old and had his jabs on Friday so will let him off!) so he thought he'd take the time to give me a hand. Bless him - I'm very lucky to have such a supportive dh.

Will make it sometime soon though fibernie - prob next week unless something else comes up. Hope you have fun and see you soon.

Hello everyone else!

SmudgeMum · 03/12/2007 13:02

HI all,
Hope you get a good rest today alicet. Anyone fancy meeting up next week to get it in before Christmas? I wouldn't suggest the Metrocentre unless any of you are mad. Was there last week and it was BUSY!!!

If any of you are in the Jesmond area. This Wed 5th of Dec and the next one (12th) at 10.30 there are free taster sessions for 'Singing Babies' at Jesmond Hall. I go to the group in Horsley and DS thinks it's fab. It's for babies up to the age of about 1 and it's two women who do it. Lots of singing and moving etc. with different instruments, getting the babies to listen blah blah blah. If anyone wants to know any more, let me know.

fibernie · 03/12/2007 19:26

I would definitely favour help from DH over a trip to toddlers! It was quiet there this morning, maybe everyone was christmas shopping! I'll not be there next week, but the week after that Santa is coming. You need to bring a small gift for Santa to give out.
Sorry can't make any meet ups... life very hectic just now and non-working days always busy.

alicet · 04/12/2007 16:22

Smudgemum the singing babies sounds great - went to piccolo off and on with ds1 and he loved it. Unfortunately Mon and Wed are my days with both boys and ds1 will be too old...

Fibernie good luck with Christmas shopping. Will try and make it in a couple of weeks too then.

oops!

Also misread post fibernie - have a nice day next Mon whatever you are up to!

katwith3wisemen · 08/12/2007 22:08

Smudgemum, I was thinking of going to the Horsley session as it is quite near to me, but I didn't realise it was for under 1's. Do they do an older class ?

I might try the 12th session, but tbh, my 2 break up next week and I'm hoping to get all my shopping sorted before then.

Oh and yes .... avoid the metrocentre at all costs, I got a space just outside M&S cos I arrived at 9 am after the school run, and when I left a couple of hours later, 3 cars were fighting over my space. They blocked me in, refused to move, so I just sat there laughing and waited for them to decide between themselves who was having it !

Definitely not going there again this year

SmudgeMum · 09/12/2007 21:54

Katwith3 - how are your kittens? Guess the youngest must nearly be one? Re Singing Babies they have just started doing a class for older ones - it's called Squeaky Feet but not sure what day it's on - maybe Wed? Do you want me to find out?

Fibernie - hope St Nich made it ok. We must have been very good because we got sooo many goodies!

I think I might be going to Ceramic Experience place on Wed this week to pick up a mug. Anyone fancy joining me?

alicet · 10/12/2007 13:13

Smudgemum I'd be interested in the singing class for older ones esp if its a wednesday as thats one of the days I have both boys.

Went to the toddler group that fibernie has been talking about this am and it was great. Ds1 loved it especially the trains although I was a bit worried he was going to jump on top of a couple of smaller girls during the singing at the end and I was feeding ds2 at the time so not in the best place to stop him... The joys of 2 under 2!

fibernie · 10/12/2007 13:17

Sorry I missed you - first time we haven't been in weeks! We had a pyjama morning after a very tiring weekend. Glad you enjoyed it, will be there next week ( to see Santa!)

katwith3wisemen · 10/12/2007 13:35

My HV gave me a card for the singing babies. I know I've got it somewhere. I'll dig it out and see what they say.

I think I'll try the toddler group next year too, sounds like its a nice one.

Smudgemum : the littlest kitten will be one just before Christmas and your LO will be one a month after right ? how did that happen ...its gone too quickly !

Sorry, wont be able to meet on Wednesday as school concert is happening. Enjoy your cuppa though !

SmudgeMum · 11/12/2007 16:24

HI all,
I asked about the Squeaky feet and it's a Tuesday afternoon in Hexham and a Wed afternoon in Gosforth (I think that's the right way round) Do you think it's ok to post their number on here? It's a home number I think? Unless you fancy coming to the Ceramics Place and I can pass it on in person? There is something there for babies and older ones? I think I'll be going in the afternoon.... prob about 2pm.
Katwith3 - like the name by the way!, I can't believe Dom is nearly one. It seems like only yesterday when we met up in John Lewis and he was still inside and your ds was just born!!

alicet · 16/12/2007 13:52

Hi ladies,

Looking forward to the christmas party tomorrow fibernie! Just wanted to ask - I vaguely remember someone mentioning bringing food at the end only I was a bit distracted by trying to stop ds1 from jumping on 2 small girls while feeding ds2... Do we need to bring some nibbles as well as a pressie? And nibbles for children or us? If you could let me know that would be great. And look forward to meeting you! After going last week there is one way that it is probably easier to spot me - I am the only bad ff mum - ds2's habit of feeding virtually nonstop was just not sustainable with trying to look after a toddler too . Still he's doing well and we're all happy so no worries.

fibernie · 16/12/2007 19:31

Hi Alicet

I'll be there tomorrow, clutching cheese biscuits. I wasn't there when we signed up to bring food, got a friend to put me down for the bics. I think it'll be ok if you just bring some nibbles. I'm not sure if the adults are to be fed too, but suspect there will be loads of food.

Please don't worry about FF amongst lots of BF. If it was the kind of group that judged anyone for how they fed baby, I wouldn't be going! Also know from chatting to other mums you're not the only one.

You can spot me by my ginger haired nearly two year old (or by my cheese biscuits)!
See you then.

alicet · 17/12/2007 13:00

Great to see you at the Christmas party fibernie - we had a lot of fun even if we did have full on lying on the floor tantrums from ds1 as we tried to leave!

Will def be back in the new year.... Any of the rest of you fancy giving it a go?

fibernie · 17/12/2007 13:11

Yes, it was a fun party - my cheese stars went down well and DD enjoyed her first meet-up with Santa!
Have a lovely Newcastle Christmas everyone!

lilbunnybabe · 20/12/2007 21:21

Hi all!

Sorry I've not been on in a while, the girls have been ill loads, and me & OH, so its not been fab. But just wanted to come on and wish you all a VERY MERRY XMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Hope you all have a good one and I'll speak to you again in 2008!

Em x

kiskidee · 23/12/2007 17:04

slingmeet - Thurs 27th Dec

alicet · 26/12/2007 19:40

Happy (belated!) Christmas ladies! Hope to catch up with you in the new year...

Nataz26 · 15/01/2008 22:20

Newbie here!!

Any mums near Greenside, Ryton? I've got a little girl Emmas whos just turned 7 months and I would love to meet other mums. I havent got transport so meeting other mums has been difficult.

Love to hear from you all...

SmudgeMum · 16/01/2008 21:30

Hi Nataz, congratulations on your LO. I'm not sure if there are people out towards Ryton - I bet there are but they're probably lurking. How are things going? Does she sleep well? I've got a DS who is very nearly 1. It's gone so quick, I remember meeting up with Podywody, Ladidadi and Katwith3kittens before he was even born. (Podywody, how are things?)
Nataz, do any buses go to Metrocentre from Ryton? If so, I could happily meet you there for a cuppa?

Nataz26 · 16/01/2008 22:32

Hi I know, I think mums round here just disappear in the atmosphere!!

Yeah buses go to metrocentre so meet up would be great. I just read your post about ceramic place, thats near me if anyone fancies meeting up there, sounds quite good.

Emmas great, just got her second tooth so we've been having fun with all that, but cant complain. Still getting used to it all though. I've met a couple of people in Prudhoe, but most of the classes are no longer suitable, everything seems to clash with dds sleeps!

podywody · 18/01/2008 02:03

hi everyone, sorry i havn't been on with ages just been busy no real excuse, so where is everyone ??? Welcome Nataz its lovely to hear from new people, Smudgemum can't belive ds is nearly 1 ... We should have a proper meet up soon, before we wont reconise the lol and Nataz it would be nice to meet you. I am due in 6 weeks can't believe it, its gone so fast.
