Hi Guys, it was lovely catching up today, ds really enjoyed his little play about with the toys. I got an ice-cream on the way out but ds ate most of it on me. Need to go now and book the car hire for the weekend. Smudgemum hope you have a nice weekend away and Tinder hope your dh gets the job.

SauerKraut · 12/10/2007 16:08

Are any of you in Whitley Bay, if you don't mind me asking?

SmudgeMum · 15/10/2007 12:19

Hi Magicmonica and Sauerkraut - I don't think that anyone who posts on this bit is from Durham way or Whitley Bay but I'm sure there will be people lurking. I think there was someone from Durham asking a while back but I think if no-one answers people often can't find the thread again IYKWIM. You're welcome to come and join us anyway
Hi Lauzie - I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering how you were doing. How's the house coming on?

Nice to see you too Podywody and Tinder. I reckon Ikea was a good place to meet (we ended up in the restaurant bit because there's a children's area bit and our 3 crawled and walked around quite happily - would recommend)

lauzie · 15/10/2007 15:36

Hi all!

I'm fine thanks smudgemum! panicking about the house a bit as its NO where near done and don't know where I'll be when baby turns up!

I've just sneaked a peak at your photos, I can't believe how big Dom is! he was only 8weks I think when we met up? Time flys!

Anyway hope everyone is well hope to see you all soon Laura xx

freerunner · 18/10/2007 22:11

Just a quick hello to everyone to let you know I'm still here (it's me, Kiminutter!) - have a sick child still up so can't stay but will have a proper read of the thread tomorrow hopefully. Hope you and your babies are all well!

SharpMolarBear · 19/10/2007 16:49

congratulations! When are you due?
Would like to have another, but no plans just yet

fibernie · 20/10/2007 13:45

Hello all
Welcome to new people on this thread and congratulations on so many impending new arrivals!
Ran into tinder today in Fenwicks (nice to see you again!) and promised I'd put details of a toddler group I've found in Gosforth online.
It's called Merry Go Round and it runs Mon, Tue, and Friday at the rugby club. They have soft play, and various tables of train sets, craft, play kitchen etc. There's a space reserved for babies and lots of space for ride-on and push along toys. The structure is play, then the tables are cleared and the children get fruit and a drink, then we have a sing song.
They are always looking for new members and volunteers.
It costs £2.20 a child.
Apologies for lurking a bit and not coming to meet ups. I do check the thread from time to time but since going back to work I find it really hard to fit anything in! We go to that group on a Monday and visit people the other day I'm not at work. If you do plan a meet up at Adventurelands, I might make that, since I live nearby.

fibernie · 20/10/2007 13:47

p.s. no group next week as it's half term.

tinder · 20/10/2007 15:44

Nice to bump into you too Fi and thanks for posting those details.
And I promised to post details of a baby wearing meet for anyone interested and also a craft fair I will be having a stall on.

Baby wearing meet - Thursday the 25th of Oct in Durham. Details can be found at - www.thebabywearer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1730334#post1730334
And the craft fair is at Ravenswood Primary School on the 2nd of November from 7-9.30pm. There is a small entrance fee. It's a pamper and shopping evening with lots of different things.. so not your normal craft fair I hope.

podywody · 22/10/2007 21:38

Hi Fibernie, nice to hear from you again, the play group sounds good, I'm looking for something to do on a tuesday what time is it on at ?.
A Big hello to all you new people hopefully we can all meet up for a chat soon.
Ds due to have MMR in 4 weeks so on internet trying to find out at much info as possible, its so difficult to know what to do. All views welcome !!

OP posts:
fibernie · 23/10/2007 19:56

Hi podywody. The group starts at 10am - 11:30. I go on Mondays so I'm afraid won't be there when you go.
DD got tonisilitis just after her MMR, but I think it was just a coincidence! Lots of very hot debates on here about it, which I don't want to get into! The only thing I can say is that if you do a google search, remember you'll not get the most balanced of information. The best of the best evidence can be found here Hope this helps.

SmudgeMum · 24/10/2007 15:51

Hi all,
Fibernie how's things? DH still talking to DS in dutch and seems to be coming more naturally now that DS is responding. How's things with you?
Are you the same Fibernie on the blw site? If so if've been having a go at some of your recipes!!!!

fibernie · 24/10/2007 19:15

Hello Smudgemum!
Yes, DD now saying quite a few Dutch words, it's really nice to hear. Can be a bit tricky when I've no idea what she's saying - even though I know the word I don't always recognise her version of it!
Yes, that's me on the BLW site, didn't realise you were on there - leave me a private message there if you like, we should really think about getting the little ones together for Dutch time.

tinder · 24/10/2007 22:24

Prob not going to the baby wearing meet tomorrow. Too busy really. As for MMR, Brynn was due 2 other shots on the same day. I allowed 1 but not the other and put that back 2 months after her MMR. She also had the Homeopathic MMR remedy a couple of days before and I am sure it helped her as she had no reaction to the MMR. Not sure where to get it as my step aunt sent it. If you find a pro homeopathist I am sure they can sort it.
Good luck!

knifewieldingtoddler · 25/10/2007 21:09

Hi Majicmonica: I am a little further east in Co. Durham from you. On the coast in a little village somewhere between sunderland and hartlepool. I don't normally come on here but noticed tinder's post when i came into 'meetups'.

Hi molarbear.

Tinder, the meetup had loads of mums new to babywearing and lots of babywearing regulars. I didn't get a much of a chance to introduce myself to many of the people i 'know' on TBW but i suppose there will be another time. I had to leave a little earlier than i was hoping to.

skidaddle · 29/10/2007 14:37

Hi,

Hope you don't mind me joining in. Was looking for a Durham thread and see there are lots of Durham people on here.

knifewieldingtoddler (love the name!) - I was at that babywearing meeting last week - I probably met you!! I found it really helpful as it makes such a difference when you can actually try the slings on rather than just look at pictures.

are there any other Durham people on here?

podywody · 29/10/2007 22:08

Hi All,
Anyone up for a meet-up this week ????

OP posts:
SmudgeMum · 30/10/2007 12:05

HI Podywody, how's things? I've got a pretty hectic week this week so not sure I'll make it. Next week though??
Hi Skidaddle. I think there are a couple of people from Durham but you'd be welcome to come and meet up in the Toon if you like. How many LOs have you got?

Fibernie - I'm on the BLW site with a different name. Not posting much though, just reading and nabbing all the recipes. Are you doing St Nicolaus for DD? DH reckons we are for DS which I think is an excuse for him to eat lots of chocolates (DH that is!)

fibernie · 30/10/2007 19:19

Sinterklaas is compulsory in this house Smudgemum - we get the chocolate letters shipped in ahead of time! We usually invite some older kids we know round, and they get incredibly excited about it all!
Did you try my nuggets? That recipe seems to have spread far and wide (whispers: I didn't even invent it!)
Happy Halloween one and all - got DD a cat outfit at Sainers today for £1.50!
