Hi Fibernie. you sound very organised for December. I was in Lidl the other day and saw lots of goodies but didn't get any yet or they'd be eaten too early. I have done a sort of variation on 'your' nuggets. I also added fish in to some too. DD will try anything if it takes 2 hands to hold - he definitely thinks the bigger the better.

skidaddle · 31/10/2007 09:00

Hi smudgemum - thanks I might come along to a meet up in Newcastle next time if that's OK. I have a DD who has just turned 2 and am 34 weeks pg! How about you?

SmudgeMum · 31/10/2007 21:10

ooh, congratulations Skidaddle. Hope things are going alright with the bump and your DD isn't running around too much! I've got a nearly 9 month old boy who has been crawling forwards for the last 10 days (after going backwards for about 2 weeks)and seems to be getting very quick. He pulled the leaves off a plant at the weekend and is steadily taking all the books out of the bookcase.
Look forward to meeting up with you. Do you drive or would you come through on the train?

tinder · 02/11/2007 09:36

Thanks smudgemum - I would get the train into Newcastle as we don't have a car - although did it yesterday and felt half-dead by the time I got home! Might leave it until after this baby is born...
I love that crawling stage - even though they are an absolute liability..

hi magic monica - I see you from your profile that you have two children (and one on the way - congrats!)- do you take them to any of the toddler groups in Durham? I think I'm going to start going to the NCT group on Mondays in town when my baby is born (6 weeks) and I used to take DD to the university toddler group near the swimming pool.

magicmonica · 02/11/2007 19:36

Hi skidaddle, where is the nct group? i havnt found anywhere local yet to take my youngest. Except a childcare place to put him in 2 mornings a week, but would like to go to a group where i go too.

oh skidaddle, I am in a Hawthorn village. If you were at the slingmeet near the start, I was the one who took the photos. I am sorry to say that I don't use msn. not that I am a technophobe, just never got round to it and with working ft and a toddler an MNing, I can't justify it.

aka knifewieldingtoddler.

skidaddle · 05/11/2007 08:43

magicmonica - the nct meetings are at St. Cuthberts (think that's right) church which is on the road going out of town towards Framwellgate Moor (on the right after the entrance to Wharton park and before you get to the first roundabout). I think it's on Monday and Wednesday mornings but will find out more and let you know

kiskidee- I vaguely remember photos being taken but can't remember the taker!! I was there with my DH and DD (aged 2) learning about all the slings from the experienced babywearers! Was great to see all the different slings - do you go regularly to all the meetings?

kiskidee · 05/11/2007 10:49

the meetings haven't been regular lately because 2 of the coordinators recently had babies. I initiated this meetup as the last one was back in july. I hear that they will try to make them more regular again and have heard whispers of one later this month and one in February.

tinder · 06/11/2007 08:16

Thinking about going to the toddler group Fi spoke about this morning if any one else happens to be there

fibernie · 07/11/2007 20:22

Did you go tinder? I work Tue so am never there then but am a regular there on mon now.
Next week they have a photographer going so you could go check out your competition!
DD loves it there, especially when they bring out the plates of fruit, and then sing sleeping bunnies. Her idea of the perfect morning out!

alicet · 09/11/2007 15:48

Hi there ladies! Posted here a few months back but haven't got round to it for a while... I live in Gosforth and have 2 ds's - one of 21 months and one 5 weeks. I've been meaning to go to the toddler groip fibernie mentioned for ages but been a bit busy as you might imagine! Might go this week maybe?

We used to go to Piccolo on a Thurs am in Jesmond but ds1 is now at nursery on that day and I think ds2 is probably a bit little to appreciate it!

fibernie · 09/11/2007 20:09

Hi alicet... I'll likely be there on Monday if you fancy coming along. I have a daughter nearly the same age as your son. Might see you there.

alicet · 10/11/2007 12:29

Will try and make it then fibernie. My parents and sister will be staying so might not manage but will do my best!

SmudgeMum · 12/11/2007 14:23

HI everyone, congratulations alicet on your new arrival. I hope that your family visiting are more help than hindrance!

Just in case anyone is around and fancies meeting up. I'm going to go to the Ceramic Experience on Chainbridge Industrial Estate on Wed at about 11am. They have a nice little play area, some soft play, a coffee shop thing as well as the ceramic stuff. You don't have to make anything to go and have a coffee/play so if anyone fancies it, Dominic (9 months!!!) and I will be there creating havoc - him that is, not me! Just a warning that it's upstairs though so buggies need to be carried up. You just ring the doorbell and someone will come and help you.

PS I spent an afternoon in Durham last week (waiting for DH to finish a meeting, dont' ask!) and it was lovely but oh my goodness, please tell me that there are more places than BHS to change your baby!!

alicet · 12/11/2007 19:11

Hi Smudgemum! Yes my family are all help. Mum Dad and sister all keen to do night feeds, bathing, nappies etc or even laundry and washing up! In fact they are bathing ds1 (Sam) now while I play on mumsnet!!! But I am cooking tea so I'm not totally lazy!

Fibernie didn't make it today as by the time we had all showered and dressed it would have been too late. They will still be here next week so might struggle then too but will definately come the week after if not before....

fibernie · 13/11/2007 12:05

I was in such a fluster yesterday I would have been no use to you anyway! We're off on holiday on thursday so might see you there the week after next.

tinder · 13/11/2007 15:17

hi Fi.. yes I did go and brynn loved it. Sadly she was sick yesterday and Dh is sick today.. so we couldn't go. Annoying.

SmudgeMum · 15/11/2007 10:02

HI Podywody - Shame I missed you. We had a great time at Ceramics place yesterday. We were there 2 and a half hours!! We made 2 mugs and 3 teapot stands as Christmas presents. DS played lots and enjoyed crawling round the toddler area. I'm going down to my Mums next week so won't be around on Tuesday to meet for lunch Maybe the next week? How are you doing?

alicet · 01/12/2007 20:30

Fibernie going to try and make the toddle group on Monday if I can haul myself and my 2 boys out of the house in time! Maybe see you there? I will be the one with the curly haired 22 month old boy, the 9 week old boy in a hugabub sling (or screaming ) and the slightly frazzled walked-through-a-hedge-backwards look!

fibernie · 01/12/2007 20:50

Will watch out for you! I'm on set up on Monday so will be there from the start.

alicet · 01/12/2007 21:23
