Friday 22nd Sept - Who fancies meeting up this Friday? How's about sticking to the good old Lollipop Club (unless any1 has any other suggestions) seeing as it's forecasted to rain?

Friday 29th Sept - Child's Play Cafe (Chiswick) -what time suits everyone to fit around nap times etc? Childs Play Cafe

1st week of Oct - um....ah...???

Hi 2cute - sorry to hear DS is not well. We had a fab meal in the Petersham Hotel on Friday night - would recommend it for a posh evening out...
Busy with car hunting, painting and tiling at home over the weekend... and got out for a walk in the sun to feed the ducks.

Paddlechick666 · 25/09/2006 16:41

lol @ FF. this woman was evangelical about the hippychick hip seat. dh said he had to wander off otherwise he was going to bop her LOL!

was wondering how the Petersham was BK, I drove past on Friday arvo and it looks lovely.

2cute, sorry your ds wasn't so good. dd has had a bit of an upset tum today. not sure if it's a bug or just too many raspberries and strawberries. she seems okay in herself tho.

hope he's feeling better soon.

Pud, got your CAT thanks. Will email.

I just had a little nap while DS was having his and feel even more tired than before. Atleast DS seems better.

BK - That's funny, even though we were rushing around to and from Homebase doing house stuff, we also made sure we took time out to feed the ducks! We have to get out in the sun while it lasts, I'm not a big fan of winter. Maybe I should move to the Bahamas

Paddle, I always think I'm a bit of a hippy at heart, so it makes me laugh when I meet a "real" one

fatfox · 25/09/2006 18:15

... or even hear about a real one, IFKWIM

YanksUponThames · 25/09/2006 19:36

Hey there! Sorry to drop out here & there, and over the weekends (hard for me to use computer when dh is around, actually), but I'm back more & more now.

PC666 --- a lift? In an actual car and everything?? Oohh. Yes, I have a car seat, actually! We don't use it very much, since we don't have a car here, but it has got some use on occasion when we've gone on weekend outings.

YanksUponThames · 25/09/2006 19:40

Oooh, nice to hear someone actually been to Petersham Hotel! Seen it, even got junk mail encouraging holiday dinners etc., but never been there yet!! So it's good?

BigKat · 25/09/2006 21:18

Hi Yanks- we got there for sunset- the bar overlooks the river and it was really picturesque- you would not think you were in London. Bar prices are not much more than a pub, so if you fancy checking the place out- pop in for a swift sundowner.

fatfox · 26/09/2006 07:19

Morning everyone

xoxoxo · 26/09/2006 08:03

MOrning all.
I've been to the Petersham: fab dover sole.

Off on hols tmrw so just popped in to say I'll be quiet for a while. And to ponder the knitting/ bridge connumdrum.

lemonaid · 26/09/2006 08:17

Not that I can make the daytime meets (grrr... fume... jealous), but thought I'd pop in just to say that the new eXplore area at the Wetland Centre in Barnes is fantastic (whole place is pretty good, but I think eXplore only opened a couple of months ago and I'd not been since then). I think DS would literally have stayed there all day given half a chance. We've now joined as members as I can see us going back there repeatedly for the sake of the playground.

I now return you to your scheduled service...

xoxoxo · 26/09/2006 08:20

Thanks Lemonaid. I love hearing about fab places to exhaust snotty kids.

Now - where do you stand on the great knitting debate?

lemonaid · 26/09/2006 08:25

My grandmother once taught me to knit, but never taught me to cast off. So knitting and I do not get on, on the perfectly reasonable grounds (among others) that I'd literally never be able to stop once I started. There'd be a whole Sorcerer's Apprentice thing with bits of scarf everywhere (well, actually there wouldn't, because I would also lose interest after about three rows and wander off).

Ye Gods -- now I'm talking about knitting! You are actually a secret agent of the Knitting Collective, aren't you?

xoxoxo · 26/09/2006 08:36

No I am NOT!! But I think YOU could be tempted. It didn't take much to set you off, did it...

lemonaid · 26/09/2006 08:44

Fifth columnist...

BigKat · 26/09/2006 08:58

I never got on with knitting but enjoyed crochet. When I was about 9, I crocheted a lovely dark brown and yellow stripy tank top with acrylic wool - stylish !!! I think I even wore it a couple of times.

sfxmum · 26/09/2006 09:10

pattern discussion warning!!!

since it was the nuns who taught me in order to avoid idle hands and all that i always feel very virtuous doing it, zero skill but loss of virtue

bunyanvillas · 26/09/2006 10:38

The Petersham is lovely, I liked it so much I got married there! Views are amazing and it hasn't been turned into one of those boutique hotels that seem to be springing up everywhere. Call me old fashioned but I like a bit of chintz!!

Uwila · 26/09/2006 13:39

So this is where all the chit chat has gone.

So, what are we doing next week? Wednesday and Thursday are open for me. I think we mentioned Kew a while ago. Or, amaybe this place in Barnes?

Who is coming?

Uwila · 26/09/2006 13:42

Oh, has to be morning as I have to get DD to school in Twickers at 12:45.

fatfox · 26/09/2006 19:19

Hey you lot - I can't believe that this thread has turned into a knitting discussion as well

sfxmum · 26/09/2006 19:28

i might be able to do kew on thur

Uwila · 26/09/2006 21:10

Anyone else?

2Cute · 26/09/2006 23:15

Evening all

Uwila - I can make Thursday. Btw - are we going with or without knitting needles?

Lemonaid - tell more about this eXplore place please....I've never been to the Wetland Centre.

Paddlechick666 · 27/09/2006 10:24

i can't do thursday as it's a work day for me.
