Should we start a sweepstake on weight?

I bet one Biscuit on 8lb 12oz

Leggy cheer up, cake without T means you actually get to eat it all, with 2 hands and you don't have to share!

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 07/05/2011 08:15

I'll go for 7lb7oz

KaraStarbuckThrace · 07/05/2011 09:00

I shall let you know who wons the biscuit!

Spiggy - yours will be 7lb13!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 07/05/2011 09:01

Oh and I have had to refer my HB request higher up as I failed the checklist - solely on the fact I am a fatty fat fat.
Grrrrr. Have contested and will talk to supervisor next week.

spiggy · 07/05/2011 09:59

Duck didn't work! I'm still at work as I only take 6 months off and I'd rather it was all after the birth. In on Tues as I've swapped my working day then got a week's holiday booked so hoping that he turns up before the 18th when I'm due back. I'll be working from home by then though! You might all be a bit high on your weight guesses. DS was a teeny 6lb 12 at 41 weeks, DD was slightly better at 7lb 2 at 39weeks.

Kara- that's rubbish- have you looked on www.homebirth.org.uk/ to see what advice there is? If you've got some facts at your fingertips you stand more chance of over-riding a checklist.I used their shouty letter when they told me that they will only attend one home birth at a time and if someone else was in labour I'd have to go in. Sent it to the Chief Exec and got a reply saying that they didn't actually mean it and they would find alternative mws Grin. Oh, I'm sending you a friend reqest on FB, I've been meaning to it for ages but I though I'd better tell you in case you wondered who it was from Grin

juneybean · 07/05/2011 10:56

I'll bet 6lb 9oz for Spiggy

KaraStarbuckThrace · 07/05/2011 12:08

Spiggy - I got your request!

I have had lots of great advice from Foxytocin, who also encountered lots of barriers when she wanted a HB for her dd2, and she has sent me links to both Homebirth UK, and AIMS as well.

Indith · 07/05/2011 14:54

I'm sticking with 8lb 12oz, I'll use it for the both of you. Spiggy, not to make you panic about size but ds was 6lb15oz at 42 weeks then dd was 9lb4oz at just 3 days overdue! Shock.

Has spiggy had the baby then??

Quick question - does anyone know anything in /near the Metro Centre that will amuse a 4yo? I am dragging DS round with me to buy a suit and want to think of some fun things to do with him - not huge things, just shops he might enjoy / things to do? Will look round Disney store - anyone recommend anything else?

juneybean · 12/05/2011 21:34

She hadn't as of Monday night...but who knows Shock

Indith · 13/05/2011 08:57

She was on MN yesterday I think.

No idea about Metro Centre, I avoid it like the plague.

Bump still here Grin. Am 2 days over now and feeling very big and heavy- think he'll be bigger than the other 2. DP took the day off today and we had a lovely child free lunch- making the most of it while we can Smile

I'll come and let you know when he arrives- I'll not keep you waiting!

StealthPolarBear · 13/05/2011 16:59

Hi spiggy, looking forward to hearing from you.

Yes, I think I will regret this idea I have of going tot he MC - I have a lovely image of me and T strolling around hand in hand and me showing him interesting things before we pop for a coffee. No doubt it will be the usual squeezing your way through the crowds. Anyway, I park in M&S car park ad that's really the only place I need to go so I can avoid it if needs be

KaraStarbuckThrace · 13/05/2011 21:18

Metroland has gone now, though that is probably a good thing!

Haven't been to the MC for ages!

Hey Spiggy!!

StealthPolarBear · 13/05/2011 21:20

the dolmio event is on :o Just realised

KaraStarbuckThrace · 16/05/2011 14:27

So did you and T make it out alive, SPB?
Did you get what you wanted?

StealthPolarBear · 16/05/2011 19:06

i did thanks (new suit), we had quite a nice time, ride on the train, coffee & cake, it wasn't too busy

StealthPolarBear · 16/05/2011 19:07

T was very disappointed that my suit was "just trousers" - he had been looking for the ben 10/buzz lightyear suits :o

Indith · 16/05/2011 19:50

I think you'd look very fetching in a Buzz Lightyear suit.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 18/05/2011 18:13

Thank you - I'll go out in public wearing one if you dress up as slinky or woody at the same time :)

Indith · 18/05/2011 18:17

We have a cowboy outfit. I dare you!

OP posts:
spiggy · 18/05/2011 20:52

sounds like the next meet up is a fancy dress one...

Had a sweep today, cervix posterior but am now all crampy and can't sit down while they are going on. Had to have a scan as well to check weight and the good news is that he looks to be in the best position for labour. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Tonight would be a good night as the kids are in nursery tomorrow and friday. Otherwise it is another sweep on Fri.(Those on FB please don't say anything- some of DPs rellies are on there and I don't want them stalking phoning to check how things are going Grin)

KaraStarbuckThrace · 18/05/2011 22:11

Our lips are sealed!!

Indith · 19/05/2011 08:13

As long as there is cake I don't care what I have to wear!

Spiggy if you are going to have a live labour thread can you do it this afternoon please, I have toddlers to run this morning. Thank you Wink
