Shiny new thread :)

Christmas Night Out Replacement. Feb half term. Details coming soon (when we've done things like get closer to the date, decided which weekend, thawed out, and stuff)

Oh Spiggy ones I thought of the other day as both being quite under-used but not crazy were Rupert and Patrick.

OP posts:
spiggy · 03/01/2011 16:04

Patrick is the name of my mum's dog so that one is out! Rupert has been discounted already.

I knew we should have got married- I could have registered Barnabas without DP needing to sign off on it

As for the social life- I know what you mean. At least with MN we have the benefit of a social life! All bar one of my friends live miles away. And the one that does live up here has the worlds busiest social life so I have to book in months in advance or take advantage of a cancellation!

juneybean · 03/01/2011 16:06

Mine revolve around MN too Indith! and I'm not even a mum yet!!

Names names names.... Timmy (suggested by my mam!), Theo, Teddy, George, Frederick, Nate, Otis

Indith · 03/01/2011 16:16

Dh says Dylan.

Ian? Not many of those.

Otis is good juney. As is Fred but there have been loads of baby Freddies around here recently.

I love Arthur but you've discounted all A names.

KellyBronze · 03/01/2011 16:20

Francis. I love Francis.

Can't make the eighth as I am going to Darlington to see a long time friend.

spiggy · 04/01/2011 09:13

Freddie was one I wanted but we couldn't agree on a "long" version and now it has become so popular I've gone off it slightly

Thank you for all the suggestions- I shall keep collecting them and put them to DP. There must be one out there we can agree on!

juneybean · 04/01/2011 17:09

Have a Brian Grin

KellyBronze · 04/01/2011 17:17

just noticed, kellybronze is foxy.

juneybean · 04/01/2011 17:48

Did wonder!!

Indith · 04/01/2011 19:19

I tend to just assume the random namechanger is foxy :)

The tea room near Penshaw Monument does lovely food. Yum.

Boys names are hard IMO. I struggled with thinking of them both times - good thing I have two girls:).

TequilaMockinBird · 04/01/2011 20:44

Oh a new meet up thread!

I haven't been to any before but I'm in Newcastle and think I've asked before if I could gatecrash join In?

It was the mention of cake that did it Grin

Indith · 04/01/2011 21:23

Course you can Tequila :)

I was very pleased dd was a girl, ds has the only boy name we could ever agree on. Mind you dd was nameless for several days after birth while we fannied around trying to decide Blush

KellyBronze · 04/01/2011 21:53

um so my namechanging habit is becoming more widely known.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 05/01/2011 08:03

Yep - you have been outed ;)

LeggyBlondeNE · 06/01/2011 18:24

Aw change it back! Foxytocin is my favourite pun based id ever (I love it on such a geeky level!)

My favourite boys names were Jonathen (used by my cousin), Joshua, Jacob and Oliver (all three of which I'm practically drowning in amongst my friends' babies).

I'm under very strict instructions not to mention our first choice boys name to a living soul until such time as a second child is born (or identified as a girl on the scan!). It was the same with T, and I nearly slipped several times before she was born!

FrozenNorthPole · 06/01/2011 20:31

I have always loved David as a boy's name - but I have always have far more ideas for girls names (quite a good job that I have two DDs then).

juneybean · 06/01/2011 20:52

I would love a girl but I have my boys name picked and can't think of a girls name, maybe they'll come to me when I'm pregnant Grin

Indith · 07/01/2011 14:27

can anyone help here?

OP posts:
spiggy · 07/01/2011 19:49

Girls names we had 2 picked and we just had to argue decide which one was best. Boys we are starting from scratch as we used the only two we liked first time around! We have a probable middle name (can be changed if we find the perfect name and it doesn't go) of Robert.

Current front runner is Ned (edward as the "proper" name). What do you think? I shall not be offended- everyone hated Milo and we went with it anyway Grin

Anyway I have completely hijacked the thread. Can I just say CURRY!!!!! Oh and do we have a cake plan? What about the John Lewis cafe idea that somehow we never got round to doing? I could do that even if it is during the week as I only work round the corner.

juneybean · 07/01/2011 20:33

Edward Robert.....Ned Bob. Grin

Is a cake plan much like a zombie plan?!?!?

Where's John Lewis?

Chocaholica · 07/01/2011 21:07

I LOVE Edward, nn Ned. That would be one of my top boys' names, had I needed one. But DH was less keen. Oh and Edward Robert sounds lovely. Ned Bob, somewhat less so... but Ned is nice.

Are you all off out tomorrow then? Am jealous, have teething child and even less sleep than normal.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 07/01/2011 22:46

Edward is D's middle name. I wanted it for his first name, but DH wasn't as keen.

ButterPieify · 07/01/2011 22:51

Hi all, I'm so sorry for neglecting you all so much :)

Anyhow, I am now working full time, but I finish at 8pm in central Newcastle, which is the perfect time/place for a meetup, don't you think? :D

KaraStarbuckThrace · 08/01/2011 12:04

I understand. Is this a new job or the job you had before you went on ML? How's it going?

Are you coming out with us tonight?
