Hi all so after putting on 2stone in last 3 years am now in the overweight category with bmi over 28. Having found no motivation but getting more and more fed up with myself, I've taken the plunge after reading loads of reviews about exante have brought myself the 2 week box, its coming tomorrow so fingers crossed I can stick to it!
Anyone else starting it or currently doing it?

Another 1 lb down on the scales. Celery is my saving grace! Also, stock cube drinks. I bought some bags of cauliflower ‘rice’ for the freezer. They are 43 calories a bag and cook in 3 minutes. While is cooking I dissolve a stock cube in boiling water and pour it over the ‘rice’. It is very filling.

How is everyone doing tonight? I am starving again, but it feels manageable. Almost as if I could go for something, but don't feel too bad going without. Which I think is a good sign! Grin Eldest son was going through the Mcdonalds drive-thru on way home from work and asked if I wanted anything but I perservered! Very proud of myself for that.

Had another headache before but don't feel so bad now. Weeing for England at the moment which is annoying and a bit surprising really- I already drink quite a lot of water (probably 2.5l a day?) so I'm surprised at how upping it to 4 has had such a drastic effect on my bladder Blush .

In more positive news, my box of sachets arrived today! Had chocolate and peanut butter shake tonight which was really nice. I think my experience so far is that the chocolate-y, dessert-y type flavours (chocolate, cookies and cream etc) are the nicest and i find the fruity ones are a bit synthetic tasting but not unbearable.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. @GarytheRedNosedUnicorn some good tips there and glad to hear you're another pound down. I've seen people have been DRINKING stock cubes immersed in water which i think is a bit much even for me hahahaha

par05 · 13/01/2021 20:07

Ahh fab news both! Got to be honest fluffed it a bit today had a sandwich and a milkyway ooops! Need to get proper motivated like I did when I first started, you guys are doing fab. Well done @weston14 for not having mcdonalds, my weakness is the toffee lattes. Keep updates coming hoping they will motivate me again.

Thanks @par05 i think its so hard to get motivated with everything going on in the world atm. One thing i am noticing is i am CONSTANTLY thinking about food and it seems to be constantly appearing around me - recipe videos on facebook and all that kind of thing. On the plus side seen some really nice looking (and moderately healthy!) stuff to try once I'm happy with my size.

par05 · 13/01/2021 22:12

Ahh see knowing what I was having on exante did stop me thinking about food for a while weirdly, even though I was still cooking for the kids, but on the plus side I have just done 20 mins on the treadmill, (after reading your posts motivation) while watching tv though, have moved treadmill in to front room to motivate me a bit.

Weston14 · 14/01/2021 09:48

Well done @par05 for getting on the treadmill hopefully this is the start of something great!

Weighed myself again this morning and I’m another 1.5lbs down so I’ve lost half a stone since Monday Smile

Only thing I am noticing is after the initial tummy trouble on Tuesday I’m now very constipated... stomach feels quite distended and while I’m not feeling any pain per se I could do with going. Any advice ? Might have to run out to boots at some point today lol

GarytheRedNosedUnicorn · 14/01/2021 12:54

Have some sugar free Polos, or sugar free sweets from Aldi/M&S wherever. If you eat half a packet they will get things moving!

Weston14 · 14/01/2021 13:56

Thanks @GarytheRedNosedUnicorn .. ended up going to Boots and getting some Dulcolax. Fingers crossed something happens !!

Weston14 · 14/01/2021 15:27

Also the salted caramel shake... what a revelation! Doesnt even taste like a diet product. Really nice Smile

par05 · 14/01/2021 19:48

Ahh hope ducolax has worked @weston14 the bloating will pass persevere, have you guys tried the shakes with hot water, it's like having hot chocolate and lattes!

OP posts:
Weston14 · 14/01/2021 21:12

Won't go into vivid detail but dulcolax was VERY effective @par05 Grin Grin How was your day?

Didn't know that about the shakes with hot water must try tomorrow!

par05 · 14/01/2021 21:32

Ha I'm glad they helped and you feeling much better! Still haven't gone back fully on exante but having protein bars at dinner time, we've had loads of biscuits and chocolates at work over xmas so theres always a box of quality streets on the go ! I'm planning on starting again fully though just need the right mindset again reading yours and @garytherednoseunicorns success is def motivating me. Hows both your days been today has the fatigue passed yet?

OP posts:
par05 · 14/01/2021 21:33

Defo try the shakes and hot water, they are soooo nice!

OP posts:
Weston14 · 14/01/2021 23:05

Fatigue definitely isn’t as bad @par05 , my body is crying out for carbs though, all I can think of is a nice bowl of pasta or a sandwich or some chips or a pizza .... tonight I had toyed with the idea of swapping one or two of the shakes out for a proper keto meal either tomorrow or Friday but I thought it’s way too early in the game to be doing that yet and these cravings will pass eventually I’m sure. Maybe as we go along and I’m more happy with my weight I might do something like that as a bit of a reward.

GarytheRedNosedUnicorn · 15/01/2021 00:25

I had a lovely dinner tonight. Celery with marmite, big handful of salad, half a dozen crab sticks, small packet of those fridge raiders, and a boiled egg. I drizzled it with balsamic vinegar, still under 200 calls. It really filled me up!

Exante
Weston14 · 15/01/2021 09:59

You lost me at Marmite @GarytheRedNosedUnicorn 🤢 but glad you enjoyed it anyway!

How are we all this morning guys? I’m now 9lbs down in a week 😱 can’t believe it. I’ll be at that first stone mark in no time. I can really feel it in my face but my hips, waist and thighs still seem quite flabby. That won’t be forever I’m sure. I skipped the car and walked to boots yesterday (mile there and mile back) and I’m wondering if that helped with such a big loss seemingly overnight (that and the Dulcolax...). I might walk to Tesco today (a similar distance) and see what effect it has on me tomorrow.

GarytheRedNosedUnicorn · 15/01/2021 16:38

That’s not marmite over the crab sticks, that’s balsamic vinegar! Went shopping at the co op today, and was completely virtuous! Got some packets of Turkey slices to have with my salads, some celery, some chicken tikka chunks. Not ONE packet of crisps, cake, sweets or anything unhealthy end up in my trolley! Bought some cod portions and will roast them on Sunday with some lemon juice and herbs and have with a heap of roasted mushrooms and courgettes for a ‘blow out’ !

Weston14 · 15/01/2021 18:21

Good stuff @GarytheRedNosedUnicorn very jealous of your Sunday blow out sounds delish. I'm just sticking to 3 shakes a day atm but I think when I hit a stone loss I might start swapping out the evening shake for a very light meat + veg meal with no carbs.

Got a top on today which i think felt a bit "clingy" last week and is now a lot looser! Can only be a good thing.

Must say though the Eton mess shake is 🤢. Avoid!

Weston14 · 16/01/2021 12:59

How is everyone today? Have lost 1.8 lbs overnight so i'm now 10.5lbs down! Feel amazing. Walking 2 or 3 miles a day definitely speeds things up. Still finding the evenings quite long without food so might have to have a few early nights over the weekend to resist temptation of alcohol and chocolate..

par05 · 16/01/2021 15:22

That is brilliant @Weston14! Keep at it, I'm back on plan today after having a bit of a blow out yesterday 🙈 but am much more motivated now especially seeing your loss, @GarytheRedNosedUnicorn meal looks fab and very filling, I'm on a fb page for exante where theres loads of meal ideas, I've had so far a protein bar with tea, and then peparami bites and some cottage cheese( I know weird combo but hey ho easy snack ) hoping to keep it up!

OP posts:
Weston14 · 16/01/2021 18:00

Wow the chocolate flavour one mixed with hot water is really nice so thanks whoever suggested that. Just wish I'd whizzed mine up a bit more it was a bit lumpy! 😂

@par05 mm pepperami bites could actually be a brilliant idea! I think once i've lost a stone I'll move over to meat and veg a few nights away, or a very basic 2 egg omelette something like that. Savoury cravings just don't seem to be going away especially around 8/9/10 at night!!!

Weston14 · 16/01/2021 18:00

*a few nights a week, even. Exante brain..... 😂😂

Weston14 · 16/01/2021 18:10

Speaking of which, does anyone have any recommendations for if any of the meals are any good ? the pastas and the daal pots etc... I might try some just breaks up the routine from sweet stuff all the time

par05 · 16/01/2021 19:24

@weston14 I tend to sieve mine as can't quite get all the lumps out, when it's a hot shake. But yep taste divine! The soups are ok the Dahl pot was quite nice, haven't actually tried any of the others, pancakes are ok too.

OP posts:
Weston14 · 16/01/2021 19:39

How do you find getting the lumps out of the soups @par05 ? When my relative gave me a few packs to get started with one of them was the squash soup but found it went really lumpy.
