Hi all so after putting on 2stone in last 3 years am now in the overweight category with bmi over 28. Having found no motivation but getting more and more fed up with myself, I've taken the plunge after reading loads of reviews about exante have brought myself the 2 week box, its coming tomorrow so fingers crossed I can stick to it!
Anyone else starting it or currently doing it?

Hi All Day 2 and have woken with a massive headache but will persevere. Having my hair done today 🥳

GaryUnicorn · 16/04/2021 12:12

@Lollollol2020Keep drinking the water! Enjoy having your hair done today! The first few days are the hardest, your body is clearing out all the toxins and getting used to withdrawal from refined carbs and sugar. Stick with it!
I have been swimming every day this week and done a good 3/4 hour every day. First time since last Feb! I am disabled so this is the only exercise I can do. I have put on 3lb since Monday, despite no cheating, it is only to be expected as I start to use the muscles again. I hate seeing the numbers go up on the scale!
Keep with it everybody!

I have weighed in - first week loss of just shy of 6 lbs. Very happy with that.

@par05 are you back in the zone ? Join me to weigh in again next Thursday ?

Dasher789 · 23/04/2021 10:24

oh so glad i found this thread for motivation. i am 5ft 7, started on the 13th of April at 12st 11 and lost 4lbs in first two days. then i had a few things on Thurs-Sat so started this week at 12 st 8 and today and 12st 6.

I am having 3 products a day (bought the 4 week pack), a proper dinner - usually is over 200 calories I would say but I am trying to pack more veg on my plate and consider my portion size so definitely better than before.

My main problem is that in the evening, I get quite bored and that is when I want to snack. I am not hungry but I just want to pick at something. I have had a few small handfuls of nuts. Trying to stop but at least I am still losing.

Good luck everyone. Would love to be in the 11 stone range by mid to late May...

Lollollol2020 · 23/04/2021 16:19

@Dasher789 - welcome! I am on week 2 and will weigh in next Thursday. I am doing 3 meal replacements a day and a 200 cal low carb meal. It’s my first time doing exante. Wish they had more savoury options!

Dasher789 · 23/04/2021 16:23

@Lollollol2020 thanks! yes, i agree, particularly for the evening. I had a soup during week one but it was very thin for an evening meal. I had the chilli a couple of nights ago with courgetti and it was very nice. I didn't get many savoury things in my box though, it is mostly the shakes so trying to space out the savoury things lol!!!

GaryUnicorn · 25/04/2021 13:57

Have fallen off the wagon, but will not give up. Still on 2 stone 2 lost in total, but have not weighed in a few days. It made me so fed up that despite swimming daily, the numbers stayed the same on the scale. Stupid, as I know taking on exercise will retain water to help build muscle . So I am back on it tomorrow. Good luck everybody. Will check in later when I’m feeling more positive!

Brademajo · 27/04/2021 07:16

Hi everyone - all gone quiet on the thread :(
I've plateaued - I cant seem to shift a pound for the last 5 weeks!! but..in saying that, Ive maintained which is great, and I havent stuck rigidly to the diet.
I know this may sound awful selfish but now we are coming out of lockdown, birthdays and special occasions are celebrated and BANG! there it is TEMPTATION :( Folks saying (all well meaning of course) "youve lost the weight - have some crisps, nuts" etc or some cheese on your burger...topping up the alcohol.."you must have birthday cake it would be rude"
i'm sorry but it almost makes me want to cry - Ive done so well in lockdown and now its like the floodgates have opened.

Im also back in work full time so sat on arse in office :(

:(:(:(

Dasher789 · 27/04/2021 12:11

thats me completed week two today, only 1lb down on last week which is a bit disappointing but i haven't stuck religiously to it (I bought a chip butty on the way home from a walk on Sunday because it was so hot and I thought I was going to keel over Sad - still 5lb down over the whole two weeks so sounds more positive when I think of it like that.

The hardest time for me is the evening. I have started picking at nuts but i find it hard to stop and i know they are high in calories.

Feeling in the same boat as @brademajo with someone wanting to catch up at least once a week and that involves lunch or nibbles. I am trying to be conscious of how much I pile on my plate but it's easier said than done.

Good luck everyone for this week ahead Star we can do it!

Brademajo · 27/04/2021 17:57

Hi again - sorry for negative rant earlier (time of month)!

I havent been getting the notifications from Mumsnet (my laptop does its own thing sometimes!) - lots of fresh names - nice to meet you all and GOOD LUCK!! YOU CAN DO IT!!

Ive found having an Options hot chocolate helps in the evening - I have one at around 9pm (god makes me sound like im an OAP!) BUT - i look forward to it - try not to snack anything before or after..

Slimmer thins are good to munch on - only 19 calories a 'cracker' which means you can ram 3 in your mouth - feel like youve binged - and only 60 calories! you can get them in home bargains.

@Dasher789 - its a nightmare! i struggle with my own will power - I either have none (which is what I want to do!) or I fill my plate and resign :(

I dont think its too bad to snack on nuts - I remember seeing a diet program where the 'guinea pigs' ate a smallish portion of almonds every evening and none of them put on any weight (like the placebo group who didnt have any almonds) - but they said that they did feel less hungry :)

Dasher789 · 27/04/2021 21:30

Oh fab! I think I still have a tub of options from my failed attempt at slimming World Grin - il try and pick up some of the crackers this weekend too. Thats good to hear about the nuts. To be honest, I'm only eating them because I thought it was a good idea to buy 2 big bags incase I was hungry. I didnt have them the 1st week and I wasn't hungry which I would do well to remember lol!!!!

Poordogswtf · 28/04/2021 16:56

Hope you’re all doing ok! I’m still at 2stone 3 lb lost! Cant seem to get past it. Still swimming at least 4 times a week. Hopefully this week will be the time to break through it! Back at work in a few weeks, so I hope everybody notices a difference. I will have to have some willpower, I work in a theatre in Soho in London which is full of restaurants with gorgeous smells and delis. May have to leave my bank card at home!

Dasher789 · 28/04/2021 17:31

oh i hope you get a loss soon @Poordogswtf i am sure your colleagues will notice, that is a great acheivement even if you are now in a frustrating point!! haha that will certainly be hard!!

Garyunicorn · 28/04/2021 18:25

That was a Mis post by me! I was poordogswtf temporarily! Thank you @Dasher789. Sorry to confuse you all.

Lollollol2020 · 29/04/2021 15:58

Hi it’s my second week and I’ve lost one pound which is still in the right direction. I have been the same weight for a few days and am hoping to see some movement soon! I can definitely feel a huge difference in my clothes already. Hope for a little more next week but I’ll take 7lbs in two weeks.

Dasher789 · 04/05/2021 10:20

well done @Lollollol2020 i havent lost anything this week :( i havent stuck to it 100% but its quite disappointing because i feel like the days you have stuck to it count for nothing. anyway its better than a gain. il try harder this week

Lollollol2020 · 04/05/2021 19:55

@Dasher789 it will come off next week if you stick with it! I am hoping for 1-2 lbs for week 3. Even though clothes feel looser the scales are slow to move. What’s your favourite products? My fav savoury one is the Indian Curry. Dinner tonight... Honduran king prawns pan fried with fry light, cauliflower rice and the Indian curry meal replacement - so filling an tasty around 360 cals so won’t have a bar tonight. Keep going everyone!

Lollollol2020 · 06/05/2021 21:27

My 3 week weigh in was 3lbs so 10lbs in 3 weeks - thrilled with that. How is everyone else doing?

Brademajo · 06/05/2021 21:59

Hi @Lollollol2020 - excellent - would take 10lb loss in 3 weeks any day!

Im going to weigh on Saturday - I managed to shift another pound so total loss since Jan1st is 2 st 4lb. Would like to break into the next stone barrier but cant seem to do it! not too worried as happy (very happy!) with the size I am.

Just need to tighten my flabby tum! Im trying an acupressure mat to see if that stimulates anything! will report back in a few weeks

well done for every lb loss everyone :) :)

fartasapissed · 07/05/2021 12:22

Hellooooo! I know I'm very late to the party but hope I can hop on the thread. This is day two for me and I'm really not loving this diet at all. I've been doing keto since January but have only lost 1st 7lb so I'm hoping this will give me a boost.

I'm very excited for everyone here who has lost weight and is doing so well. Great ideas as well.

Brademajo · 07/05/2021 13:11

hi @fartasapissed - what is it about the diet you dont like? have you tried some of the bars? personally i really like the salted caramel

Brademajo · 07/05/2021 13:12

you do get a little windy / headache / bloated etc in the first few days :( but this does pass (excuse the pun there!)

Lollollol2020 · 07/05/2021 14:57

@fartasapissed -welcome! stick with it you could get a great first week loss to add to your impressive losses. I did this because I’m a slow loser and wanted the quick start to get me going - am menopausal so usual methods weren’t working. My fav is caramel latte shake with a shot of espresso in it and ice, the pancakes and I also make cupcakes using shakes for breakfast as I like to chew!

WhoWants2Know · 11/05/2021 10:07

I think I'm going to take the plunge and try this out. I've turned into such a sugar addict over lockdown, and last week I started to cut out refined sugar as an initial step.

Do you all buy the 2 week/4 week packs, or do you just order a few things that look nice?
