Hi all so after putting on 2stone in last 3 years am now in the overweight category with bmi over 28. Having found no motivation but getting more and more fed up with myself, I've taken the plunge after reading loads of reviews about exante have brought myself the 2 week box, its coming tomorrow so fingers crossed I can stick to it!
Anyone else starting it or currently doing it?

I love this app. And it is free. Apparently it was set up by the family of a Doctor who died, who was working on it. It is called ‘monitor your weight’ I love the graphs, and find them really motivating.

Tuna cheese melts are lovely. I even used one of those cheese strings and wafer thin ham the other day!

GaryUnicorn · 01/03/2021 12:11

@brademajo thank you xx

Thanks for the lovely welcome par05, GaryUnicorn and Bradenajo

I weighed myself first thing, about to take a ‘before’ picture and have got a plan of what to eat this week.
I’m not going to start lots of running (#save the knees) but will aim to get 10k steps in as my step count has dropped massively working from home (even though I have a dog 😟)

GaryUnicorn · 01/03/2021 12:49

@Anna12345678910 here is the app, and it was fee when I added it last year. If you go into the settings, you can also set a pin code to open it, in case you want to keep the info in it private, from kids/friends who may pickup your phone!

@altiara your dog is going to love you with all the extra walks! Good luck, especially with the next couple of days, and remember, if your tummy rumbles, that’s your fat cells being burnt!

I couldn't get it to open on my phone (Galaxy 20) said not compatible? However I am searching for similar.

Many thanks and well done on your loss to date - brilliant

GaryUnicorn · 03/03/2021 16:14

Woo hoo! 2 stones down! Met my goal for this month! My birthday at the weekend, so trying my hardest to lose a little bit more so I have a litlle wiggle room!
Next goal is 3 stones target by 12 April. Was thrilled to see my BMI has dropped by 6 points and hopefully will be under 50 before too long!
Hope everyone is doing ok.

Hi everyone

Brilliant @GaryUnicorn!

@altiara - first days are the hardest - Friday now, how are you doing? Are you planning to weigh regularly or after a length of time? How have you found Exante? What do you like / not like?
There seems to be a common 'reaction' to the diet of feeling bloated / windy / bunged up! so if you have any of these then dont worry its normal and will pass (excuse the pun!)
Ive been on it now for 2 months plus and dont have any of these anymore (haven't for ages), seems to be early on as your body changes with the new diet.

I've just placed another order with Exante - a mix of bars and shakes (I like freezing the shakes for 2 hours - fake icecream - a tip I had off this group)

I hope you are sticking with it - it really is worth it as you can feel how happy folks are when they reach goals. xxx

Morning ladies

Ok so weighed this morning - just missed my target!

So far my 'journey' has been
Jan 01 - Jan 28 = 13lbs
Jan 28 - Mar 08 = 13lbs (lol - pattern emerging??!!)

I am 2lbs off 2 stone which if you told me that on Jan 01 I wouldn't have imagined/believed it!
I am just at the top of the weight range I am happy with so if I can lose a further 5lbs I will be smack in the middle :)
I am going to continue as I am which is a mix of exante with light meals like lo dough pizza / salad + tuna and weigh in another 4 weeks :)

As things start to open up lets give it 100% so we will be ready for the next phase - think of that summer holiday we might just have!

xx

altiara · 08/03/2021 13:25

Great job Brademajo!

So far I’ve lost 3 lbs. I am bunged up! I need to drink a lot more water.
I’ve enjoyed doing some batch cooking and freezing some meals.
With the exante, I got put off the shakes after I had the chocolate orange one as it tasted awful, but have been eating the bars and occasionally the pancakes.
I do feel hungry a lot of the time and after I’ve eaten dinner I start craving chocolate! I did buy the exante chocolate balls so I had something to eat when I had movie night with my kids. I really like the sound of freezing the shake to have as ice cream.
I’ve stopped my Diet Coke addiction by buying some Dr Pepper zero, I can’t remember what Dr Pepper tastes like (awful I think) so I’ve got it there if I want a fizzy drink but I don’t actually want to open a 2 litre bottle and hate it!

I’ve not stuck to it 100% but have made a pretty good effort, so I can definitely do this another week. Hoping if I just concentrate on a week, I won’t think about how many weeks!

par05 · 08/03/2021 13:46

Well done @Brademajo! Your doing so well, and well done @altiara,keep it up, I'm back on it today not as strict though, as had a binge weekend, have put on weight but am not going to go back to the weight I was, just keep thinking remember how well I felt while doing exante, bags more energy and didn't feel hungry at all.

LordOfTheOnionRings · 08/03/2021 13:58

Glad everyone is doing so well! I am still going but only using exante for one meal a day now as I couldn't sustain it!

I need to remember to DRINK!

Also - tried the LO dough, tasted like felt to me :(

Brademajo · 08/03/2021 16:40

@LordOfTheOnionRings - Lo-dough is definitely not dominos! but are you cooking it long enough? I find it crisps up a little and is ok for 39 calories

@altiara 3lbs off is better than nothing!! If you freeze the milk shake only do it for approx 2 hrs otherwise it freezes solid!

I also need to drink more :( - I just dont like drinking water :( or squash particularly

Thanks for encouragement! I REALLY appreciate it :) xx

LordOfTheOnionRings · 08/03/2021 18:11

@Brademajo you cook it?! I thought it was a wrap so just put some chicken and salad in there...that might help haha

I hate drinking too - I think that's one of the reasons I am overweight, I am used to eating when I am dehydrated

GaryUnicorn · 09/03/2021 00:09

I reached my target on Friday of 2 stones, then had my um 48 hours off for my birthday. Weighed this morning and had put on 9lbs! I know that’s not all fat, and a lot will be food inside me and associated water retention etc. Was straight back on the diet today and didn’t cheat once. Hopefully that 9lb Will be off by the weekend!
Well done everybody. The next significant date we could have as a target could be 12 April? When we are allowed in pubs and bars 🤣. But also when we can see friends again. I reckon half a stone is very do-able by then. I’m aiming for a whole stone!
Good luck everybody!

Brademajo · 09/03/2021 08:24

@GaryUnicorn I hope you had a fantastic birthday - binged and enjoyed every treat! - Birthday done and enjoyed so back on track for the next target :)

12th April sounds great :) Who would think that sitting in a beer garden with a cider (other drinks are available!) and packet of crisps could be the stuff of dreams!

I'm going for 5 -7 lbs - and hopefully not putting any back on by 12th April. I still have a little way to go but my goodness the difference in my clothes is awesome - I was living in joggers and leggings, I'm now back into jeans (without stretch) and it feels wonderful!! Previously I could squeeze into them but they cut off my blood circulation and left tight marks on my belly and were a blessed relief to take off as soon as I got home

Good luck everyone - every pound off is a pound closer to target :)

par05 · 09/03/2021 10:39

Happy late birthday to you @GaryUnicorn and well done for getting to 2 stones brilliant! 9lbs will be water weight etc, I had a binge weekend too, and put on 4 lbs but overall 6lbs so calorie counted yesterday will again today, tend to have exante shake now as a 1 meal and then will just keep it low carb and calories for rest, and 2lbs down this morning so chuffed! April 12th is perfect as daughters bday in april 13th! 😁

@par05 @Brademajo Thank you. I was a complete glutton and felt truly stuffed, and I’m glad now to be back on the wagon! @LordOfTheOnionRings, the lo dough is lovely cooked. My DH has them stuffed with salad uncooked, and I quite like them like them like that, by favourite uses are as a pizza base, or filling with tuna, lean cheese and onion, folding in half and cooking in a frying pan with frylight, pressing down with the back of a spoon hard, so all the cheese melts!
