Hi all so after putting on 2stone in last 3 years am now in the overweight category with bmi over 28. Having found no motivation but getting more and more fed up with myself, I've taken the plunge after reading loads of reviews about exante have brought myself the 2 week box, its coming tomorrow so fingers crossed I can stick to it!
Anyone else starting it or currently doing it?
Posting here to hold myself accountable!

Fingers crossed that Lo dough pizza bases come back in stock soon! In the meantime I found these Slims. They look pretty big and are just 20 cal each. You can get them in home bargains apparently and someone said they were nice to put different toppings on. There is free shipping on the slims website at the moment. They also do syrups. You can buy smaller quantities than in the photo.
@Brademajo I hear what you’re saying, I can’t wait for the big reveal. I haven’t seen my Mum since October and would love to have 3-4 stone off when I see her next. She is morbidly obese, has been all her life and I know it will make her happy to see me with some weight loss. Have been lying through my teeth to her when she asks what I have for dinner! Oh yes mum, pork chop, potatoes and veg etc! I want to be under 19 stone by Friday as it’s DH birthday and we are both coming off the plan for 1 day. Then my next goal is 18 stone 8 for 7 March which is my birthday. Would be lovely to have lost 2 stone by then. Hope it’s doable! Good luck everybody, and keep 8 March in your head! It’s another couple of weeks!

@GaryUnicorn Can you believe it is in your grasp to achieve that weight loss by your birthday? wouldnt that be the best birthday gift!?
I know what you mean about having to lie sometimes - its bonkers isnt it? why should we have to lie about what we are eating sometimes? its all because people try to sabotage and I've no idea why??? This is why Im really finding support in these posts :) Thank you everyone - I am so please I joined the this group!
With the lockdown and having a totally legitimate excuse not to go out / go for dinner / go to party / works-do / every other occasion where someone would comment if you chose a salad or not to have a dessert - this is OUR time and if we can look after our diet, lose weight we will be making our bodies healthier and our outlook when we do finally start to open up again. This is the mantra I tell myself to keep going. Hearing about other people weight loss and exciting plans really boosts me on so keep them coming!

GaryUnicorn · 14/02/2021 14:21

@brademajo if I told my Mum I was on Exante she would go on and on about fad diets. Well I lost a few stones a while ago, and maintained it for a few years, so her arguments are invalid. At least I’m getting all the vitamins and m8 earls I need. Even if I don’t hit 2stones, I am pretty chuffed with the 21 lb so far! That’s the weight of a car tyre I was lugging around!

par05 · 15/02/2021 16:22

@GaryUnicorn that is amazing! You gave done so well. And I know what you guys mean I have only told a select few, about exante, even though it has worked for me and I have kept most of the weight off, even through xmas, people would say fad diet etc. But am back on it today and feeling very positive for march the 8th so lets go!!

Hi everyone - I dont know if you are already aware but Exante are no longer stocking Lo-dough pizza bases (Aaarrrrgghh!!) - and they seem to be not in stock when looking for other retailers - however I have found them on KETOMANIA website (I have no affiliation etc) - delivery is a bit steep at £5.99 but Ive ordered as the pizzas have been great - really enjoyed them.
I will update on delivery speed / service etc in case you are interested :)

GaryUnicorn · 15/02/2021 18:22

I am checking lo dough every day, and they are still out of stock. That has been nearly two week now. I’m guessing one of their suppliers may be European and stuff can’t get through. We are having pizza tonight, and afte4 that, have 2 packets left aghhhhh.
@par05 thank you! Long way to go, but at least I’m going in the right direction!
Keep it going everybody!

GaryUnicorn · 15/02/2021 18:28

Thanks @Brademajo for the ketomania tip!

GaryUnicorn · 17/02/2021 12:10

Lo Dough Pizza bases are now back in stock on their website! Much cheaper than on Exante, especially if you subscribe for a regular delivery!
@Brademajo

Brademajo · 18/02/2021 16:40

Hi everyone - My Ketomania delivery arrived today - delivered by DPD with hour timeslot - not bad as I ordered on Monday :)
Im all stocked up now on lo-dough. I found they were out of stock again on the lo dough website?
Anyway - they also sent me a freebie (big surprise - who doesnt love a freebie?!) - a Skinny chocolate bar

So overall very happy :)

How everyone today? Im struggling a little today - think Id better go and make a coffee with flavour drops to take the wish off. Not hungry just bored hunger.

OK - time to get busy!

GaryUnicorn · 19/02/2021 00:40

@Brademajo. Snap ! My ketomania order arrived too. I have signed up for a lo dough subscription. 8 packs every 14 days which will be enough for DH and I. Also got the free bar. It was gorgeous. Glad I shared it with DH as the 99 Cals is for half the bar!
Doing well, only shifted about 1.5 lb since Monday, but it all helps. DH birthday today so we are going completely off piste, back on the diet on Monday! Good luck with the weekend everyone!

GaryUnicorn · 19/02/2021 09:47

Woo hoo! Cracked the stone barrier! Although I will put on a few lbs tonight temporarily as it is DH birthday, my next goal is to goal is to lose another 6lb by 7th March as it is my birthday, and we will have another 24 hours off plan!

Exante
Brademajo · 20/02/2021 09:11

@GaryUnicorn - thats fantastic! great to breakthrough into the next stone range!

Well, 3 weeks have gone by so I weighed this morning..if you remember I did 4 weeks = 13 lbs and was hoping to weigh after 3 weeks, 2 weeks and then 1 week would be March 8th. I was hoping after 3 weeks to have lost a further 8-10lbs. I weighed and Ive lost 8lbs so I am on track :)
2 week target now is 5 - 7 lbs
1 week target is 3 - 4

If I lose a further 7 - 8 by March 8th then that would just tip the 2 stone mark!

I have still kept very much to Exante meal substitutes but have introduced lo - dough pizzas and salad + tuna (with skinny curry sauce) into my diet on alternate days :)

Ive had the odd wobble but still determined as this is the only time in my life that I can do this without having to explain to anyone!
Thanks @GarytheRedNosedUnicorn for the tip re the skinny bar - i thought it would have been 99 calories the whole bar not one of the 2 bars! Thanks to you, I cut a half bar in half (if that makes sense) so had a 1/4 of the whole thing which would be 50 calories. It is delicious - doesnt taste like a diet bar at all!

Keep going everyone :)

Brademajo · 20/02/2021 09:20

oops - just checked calendar, 2 weeks from now is March 6th so I need to lose 7 lb by March 8th to be exactly 2 stone.

Better try to up the steps!

GaryUnicorn · 21/02/2021 22:50

24 hours off to celebrate DH birthday (involving curry, fish and chips, and chocolate!) 5lb heavier than Friday morning! I’m sure (I bloody well hope!) it will come off in the next few days. Then I have another 6lbs to lose so I am at 2 st loss by my birthday. (7th March).
After we stuffed ourselves, we both admitted we couldn’t wait to get back on the plan. Both felt crap after eating rubbish. He had indigestion and my blood sugars went off the scale. Had ham salad tonight!

@Brademajo, have you tried these ‘slims’ I think I read you can buy them in home bargains, but I don’t have one near me, so went to the slims website and it was free delivery. They are like a huge thick prawn cracker, but only 20 calories. And 3 gram or so carb. Nice with an oxo drink if you’re hungry. Or very thinly spread with low fat cream cheese and marmite. It’s nice to have another texture with salad. I ordered last Sunday, and they arrived on Thursday. I bought the combo box and they have long sell by dates, through to October. www.slimsfoods.com/
Keep going everyone, I hope you’re keeping well. I have my COVID jab on Tuesday; feel so lucky!

Hi all - hope everyone is ok :)

@GaryUnicorn - popped to Home Bargains and bought some onion flavour slims and Fake Pizza sauce was in there too for £1.99!!

GaryUnicorn · 24/02/2021 14:52

Back down to pre weekend off weight! Now have 5lbs to lose by 7 March as I so want to be 2 stones down by my birthday. But if I don’t do it, I’m still into the next stone bracket. My next goal after that, is another stone by 12 April, when we can go and meet friends in the open. 3 stones off will be really noticeable I think!
Good luck everybody, hope you are still ok. If you’re having a tough time, come back on the thread. Maybe we can all stick together for motivation!

GaryUnicorn · 27/02/2021 15:01

@par05, @Brademajo, @Weston14, @LordOfTheOnionRings,

I hope you’re all ok. Now we have a release date of 21st June, we have the chance to make a difference. Even 1lb a week, could be a whole new dress size.

LordOfTheOnionRings · 27/02/2021 15:04

@GaryUnicorn that would be amazing.

I am total of 8kgs down now in the last five weeks! Doing really well but have found the bars not sustainable every day. I have cut to my in office work days I use the bars but if I'm at home I calorie count to 1,500 per day.

How is everyone else getting on??

par05 · 27/02/2021 18:00

Hi all thanks @GaryUnicorn and you are all doing fab, haven't stuck to it last few weeks do 2 days then stop! But am conscious of the 8th march date so hoping to get motivated again! Have ordered some more shakes so hoping to crack on!

Hi everyone, I’m just starting exante tomorrow. Getting my food and head sorted out this weekend so I give it a go. Have 5 stone to lose in total 😨

par05 · 28/02/2021 14:44

Hi @altiara 👋good luck to you, good support group here you'll do fab, we all help each other to keep going 😊

OP posts:
GaryUnicorn · 28/02/2021 20:45

Hi @altiara! Good luck! The first 2-3 days are the toughest, but just grit your teeth and by weds/thurs you will be sailing. If you have savoury craving, have an oxo in hot water. Drink lots of water, at least 2litres. You can do this! I’m 8 weeks in and nearly 2 stones down.

Brademajo · 01/03/2021 08:14

Hi @altiara - Welcome to the group! I hope you will find these posts helpful (i certainly have) - post when you have success / struggles and you will find encouragement and support xx

There's been a few of us joining the group at the start of the year and if you stick to the diet (with low carb meals) the weight will come off. We have lost on average a stone a month - although some much faster! As Boris announced the 8th March for all kids to go back to school we kind of highlighted this date to focus on (we had 5 weeks to March 8th) and were all hoping to have kicked another stone in to touch by then. I think it is on page 11 I did a little summary - its not a competition in any way as we are all anonymous and in different situations - more of a common goal to aim for :)

Personally I like to have a little target - hit that and then go for the next one. We are kind of using the emergence from lockdown as being targets :)

Each time you lose a stone or half a stone then that is an excellent achievement!!

Folks post other tips for low calorie snacks and where to buy them so that helps to get you motivated :)

Honestly - we are all in the same frame of mind and have ups and downs but ultimately the weight is coming off

I hope you can stick with it xxx

GaryUnicorn · 01/03/2021 11:13

Just 2.8lbs to go to 2 stones. It’s my birthday on Sunday, so going off plan for a day or two. It would be sooooo good to make 18.8 by then!

My lo dough subscription arrives again this week. They are a life saver. I grated a small amount of lean cheese the other day, and put it inside a laugh dough with some tuna and some chopped onion, folded it in half and heated it in a frying pan that I had sprayed with frylight for a minute or two, pressing it down with the back of a spoon. Lovely tuna cheese melt for under 200 calories. I will take a photo next time! Have a fab week everybody. Hang that outfit on the back of the bedroom door, or the front of your wardrobe door, so it’s the first thing you see everyday, - you can get in it!
