Morning all!

As ever, here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Looking forward to reading how you all got on.

Hopefully it's good news, but if it's not what you expected then have a think about what you've been doing - read the rules again and make sure you know what to do.

If you're sure you've been following the rules, then post and let me know what your last 3-4 days have been like in terms of what you've been eating and drinking.

Morning @BIWI just posted on the old thread - I’m the same as I was when I started. In terms of my meals - last night has chicken tarragon salad (fresh chicken thighs shredded with mayo and tarragon) salad comprising lettuce, cucumber, a few silvers of onion, celery, radishes, a few toms, and a few anchovies in oil, and a few thin shreds of hard Italian cheese,
on saturday - I had a omelette with ham and cheese and salad with avocado, for dinner I had steak with green salad and coleslaw (with extra mayo)
friday - spicy scramble eggs with veg a bit of cheese and some green salad, dinner was home made paneer and spinach curry with a side salad and some Greek yoghurt

breakfast is always Greek yoghurt

I have a couple of cups of tea with about 50ml of milk a day

maybe I’m having too much cheese? As when I get hungry I tend to have a snack of that or ham or a boiled egg

BIWI · 01/08/2022 09:01

Those meals look fine @greentrees9 - but are you using much fat? Are you cooking your veg in butter/adding butter to your veg? Are you using an oily dressing on your salad, as well as the mayo? Your protein choices look like they're relatively lean, so it's important that you do add the fat.

It's possible that you're eating too much dairy - so try to snack on something other than cheese.

And critically - how much water have you been drinking?

What was your diet like before you started Bootcamp? Sometimes it can just take a while for our bodies to trust us!

I wouldn't panic too much at this stage, but keep an eye on fat and water intake and possibly reduce the dairy and see what happens during this week.

Thanks - water I drink loads - between 2 and 3 litres. (More if I’ve gone to the gym and sauna) I cook with butter and add olive oil and am having plenty of avocados as well. Also some double cream. I’m going to reduce the cheese a bit this week and see what happens. Thanks 🙏

greentrees9 · 01/08/2022 09:04

My diet wasn’t too bad - some snacking (crisps and popcorn but had tapered this off for a few days before starting) and would also have had some starchy carbs once a day so either a sandwich at lunch or some rice or pasta in the evening so maybe my body is catching up?

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 01/08/2022 09:06

Just checking in to follow the new thread and see the weight losses come rolling in today. Good luck everyone!

CarpetMollusc · 01/08/2022 09:14

Just reposting on here as I did it on the old board. 3.2lb loss for me, which I'm happy with as I did have a couple of small blips!

ChairOfInvisibleStudies · 01/08/2022 09:18

Morning everyone, I've lost 4.5 lb which I'm pretty chuffed with, especially as I was away visiting family this weekend so had less control over food choices than I would normally. My family are all about low fat so it was a bit of a challenge - I think it would be fair to say I did well given the circumstances, bit it did involve more cheese then is perhaps ideal!

ChairOfInvisibleStudies · 01/08/2022 09:19

Argh I should really proofread before postingBlush the gist is there...

cupcakedaisy · 01/08/2022 09:20

Congratulations to everyone today on their losses and NSVs. I'm thrilled that I've lost 3lb as I'm trying to loose the last stone and it has been so stubborn for the last couple of months.

ImAvingOops · 01/08/2022 09:21

Good morning everyone
Am 2.3 lb down - not bad considering I've been on holiday. I think I need more water and less coffee as well.
Good luck to those who have yet to weigh in

BIWI · 01/08/2022 09:25

@greentrees9 looking at the spreadsheet, for your weight you should be drinking 3 litres of water, so perhaps focus on that as well?

Otherwise, check your portion sizes. Although we don't count calories on Bootcamp, this isn't carte blanche for piling our plates high! Try to cut out the snacking in between meals as well. If you're eating enough fat and protein at mealtimes then you shouldn't really be hungry between meals.

Morning everyone. Good reading everyone's updates and excellent guidance from @Lougle on previous thread about adopting this as a long term WOE, not looking at this as a short term fix so am not fixating on the immediate gains, glad I'm over the barrier of side effects of the change to now adopt and embrace this approach to eating.

I'm now at 122lb 3/4 on the scales which I'll just round up to 123lb for purpose of spreadsheet, down from 128lb - away from the scales I can definitely see a change in my body (tummy, arms and thighs).

Here's to a new week and a new month! We can do this!

ditavonteesed · 01/08/2022 09:38

2.2 down for me, I'm quite happy with that as I'm long term so wasn't expecting a big loss, lost 3lb last week as well so getting back on track.

Rshard · 01/08/2022 09:52

Morning all, so lovely to read everyone’s successes! Adding 4lbs of my own, really pleased.

A new month and my dm’s birthday. Dd and I are taking her out for lunch.

Ready to do week 2

colouringindoors · 01/08/2022 10:05

Wow unexpectedly good loss for 4 days, end of period bloating will have helped too 😁

colouringindoors · 01/08/2022 10:07

ooops missed out the detail - 4lb down!

colouringindoors · 01/08/2022 10:35

Er, yes BIWI I'm aware, ref two posts above, I simply wanted to comment on PP great motivation idea!!

SweetSenorita · 01/08/2022 10:48

Morning Bootcampers,

Well done everyone on getting through week one 😍

I'm 2lb down, which is quite remarkable considering what I've eaten. I mean, I've stuck to the rules but have certainly eaten more than I needed on some occasions 😚

I'll aim to carry on in the same vein but to stop when I've had enough. Hopefully I'll see a bit more off next week 🤞

FinallyHere · 01/08/2022 10:49

a week in Italy to contend with....

[from the old thread]

I've had really good experiences eating low carb high fat in Mediterranean countries, most especially with tomatoes.

Tomatoes grown in the sun, which have never been through supermarket supply chains where they are picked unripe and 'ripened' by gas, can be a revelation. A few olives, feta cheese if you are ok with dairy, few herbs and olive oil.

Swerve the bread and balsamic vinegar and jobs a good'un.

Mmmmmm. It was @ilovecherries of this parish who first floated the idea of continuing bootcamping on holiday. I did lite, so had one glass of wine each night and felt absolutely wonderful.

No guilt and awful why am I doing this to myself thoughts easily wiped out no ice creme. As BIWI would say, because I'm worth it. 😀

CarpetMollusc · 01/08/2022 11:10

@FinallyHere thank you for the holiday inspiration! I am going to try really hard to stick to it while I'm away. We're self catering so I should be okay. And thinking along the same lines as you, tomato, cheese, olives, oil. I'll maybe give myself a bit more leeway with some fruit. I'll take a bag to put over my head if the others have pizza 😀

FinallyHere · 01/08/2022 11:48

In an emergency, @CarpetMollusc I've been known to eat the pizza topping with a fork. 😁

Alongside a delicious salad. I just love how this woe is about a lot of delicious, not mucked about food. And all.the.water

Threeboysandadog · 01/08/2022 12:18

Some good early losses 🎉

3lbs down for me. I’ve had some Greek yogurt this morning and I’m actually quite hungry now so am going to shoogle some sprouts to have with some cold roast beef.
Thai Basil pork with courgetti for dinner.

Onwards and downwards.

prettybird · 01/08/2022 12:33

12st 11.25lb - that's a loss of 4.5lb Smile

I'm being good with both the water and snacking less (even if they were low carb snacks Wink)

Not worked out what we're having tonight though: needs to be something simple as I've got rugby training (strength and conditioning).

Placemarking

ChimneyPot · 01/08/2022 13:04

I am down 1.75lbs which is a week 2 loss for me.
Arrived in Centerparcs now with a boot full of low carb veg, butter, cream, oils, cheese etc and a 1 litre water bottle.
So going to try and stick to plan.
Currently waiting for my bunless burger with salad and tonight it Indian so should be manageable.
