Sorry for flitting in and out of the thread - we have family coming to visit for the next three days, so I've spent a lot of the last day or so in the kitchen, cooking and baking.
To pick up on some of the recent posts/questions?
@Lucienandjean I'm with you on the cinnamon haters bench! I can just about tolerate a little bit of it in something savoury, like moussaka, but the idea of putting it on my lovely, creamy yoghurt is
<--- not envy!
Go you @Livelongandprosper - but how about the cat?!
@ChimneyPot without resorting to artificial sweeteners - banned in the first two weeks of Bootcamp! - I would suggest squeezing a little bit of orange on to the rhubarb - that might give you enough sweetness. You'll also get some sweetness from the cream. But don't go overboard with it. (I couldn't find a carb count for juice - other than stuff in the carton - but if you were to squeeze a segment of orange (or satsuma/mandarin) over it, that might just be OK)
But I also agree with @FinallyHere that it makes a great sauce for savoury foods - pork, or mackerel, work really well
Brilliant first week @Chocasaurus. Who knew that removing chocolate and sweets would result in such a loss?
I'm absolutely useless at buying/choosing avocados. They're never ripe enough and then suddenly they're soft and manky.
Thanks for the info re coconut cream @Lougle - and especially the warning about checking the back of pack info for the carb count. They do vary a lot.
@cupcakedaisy I reckon I probably eat a third of a 500g tub when I have yoghurt - if that's a meal (I often have this just for lunch) I reckon that the carbs in that are fine. Remember - the key thing for this WOE is to eat enough to satiate you. We are NOT about deprivation. (Not giving you permission to stuff the whole pot in your gob though
)
@Bunce1 be careful. You may have lost 2lbs this week, but if you carry on cheating then next week will be a very different story. Please don't complain if you don't see a loss when you've been drinking wine and eating crisps!
Sorry to hear you're poorly @ChairOfInvisibleStudies and fingers crossed that it's not Covid again.
@TheOnlyMrsW - again, the same warning as I've given to Bunce1!
@CarpetMollusc if you're hungry, then eat something. Low carb, obviously! Fat and protein - why not try an egg? I generally have a stash of hard-boiled eggs in the fridge for this reason - either on its own, or mashed up with mayo. Some PP have theirs mashed up with Boursin.
