Morning all!

As ever, here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Looking forward to reading how you all got on.

Hopefully it's good news, but if it's not what you expected then have a think about what you've been doing - read the rules again and make sure you know what to do.

If you're sure you've been following the rules, then post and let me know what your last 3-4 days have been like in terms of what you've been eating and drinking.

@CrunchyCarrot so sorry to hear about your cat, I know your pain. I lost my dog last year unexpectedly, and will soon need to make the decision about my 14 year old. It's heartbreaking.

Yesterday
B - Greek yogurt & cream
L - Chicken & Avocado Salad
D - Salmon fillet, buttery spinach & cauliflower cheese
First time making a cheese sauce with just cream and cheese - what a game changer, it was delicious and so quick and easy.

Today
B - Salmon fillet, baby toms, cucumber & mayo
L - Crustless quiche & salad - leftover quiche for easy breakfasts over the next few few days
D - Chicken with buttery spinach, asparagus and mushrooms

BIWI · 03/08/2022 11:25

I'm out all day today so don't have time to drop into the thread, but glad everyone seems to be doing so well!

@venusandmars you went to a very strange place very quickly there. Much as I don't want to interrupt your train of thought Eric is my spaniel who was also on a diet. 😂 photo for attention/confirmation

venusandmars · 03/08/2022 11:48

Phew! Eric is lovely Smile

@loopylu26 did you add a squeeze of lemon juice to your cheese sauce? That makes it even better (and a little bit of whole grain mustard)

catwithflowers · 03/08/2022 15:45

Well I thought I had done really well yesterday. Met up with a lovely friend for lunch and decided to go for the salad which was kind of a take on a Greek salad but with added pitta crisps. Got the salad without the fried pitta but it came with loads of red onion and a pomegranate dressing which was super sweet. 🙈. It was lovely and the only thing on the menu. If I had read more closely I could have asked for no dressing I guess. Or brought my own?

Dinner was very tasty, home make chicken tikka with a very nice cauliflower and green bean curry cooked in lots of ghee. Veg from the garden. I think Indian food is my friend when low carbing. I feel like I'm eating so well and don't miss rice. a garlic naan would have been amazing though, I can't lie 😩 😂

cupcakedaisy · 03/08/2022 17:02

Thank you to everyone about the greek yoghurt amount. I am now having it with a bit of clotted cream which is surprisingly filling, however everytime I eat it (once a day) I feel bad about having something with so much fat. Does anyone else have this is or is it just me? None of my other meals make me feel this way.

Lougle · 03/08/2022 17:09

@cupcakedaisy once you see the results and that it doesn't make you fat, that feeling might go.

prettybird · 03/08/2022 17:11

@cupcakedaisy - it takes us a long time to get over the "fat guilt" Confused - it's been so ingrained in us Shock

But trust us - you need the fat in order for this WOE to work. Your body needs to know it has plenty in order for it to use it for energy rather than store it - and pee out the rest, hence the need for all the water Grin (that's the way I like to visualise it Wink)

You'll get there. Just enjoy the yoghurt and cream Flowers

cupcakedaisy · 03/08/2022 17:19

Thank you @Lougle and @prettybird I shall keep enjoying it Smile

Emboldened by fitting into a smaller pair of jeans this week, I faced the dreaded scales this morning.

Down 3.7lbs over one month, BMI =30 so there is still have a long way to go,

Lovely lady in the gym reception pointed out that the tend is in the right direction, and that fat is reducing more, offset by slight muscle increase so it's all good.

And I'm really enjoying this woe, I think about how I'll feel afterwards to decide what to eat, so it's all good.

Really.

colouringindoors · 03/08/2022 18:27

Had a non weight benefit thing this morning - trousers which have done up tightly previously, did up perfectly 😁

Whicker · 03/08/2022 19:02

Congratulations on the NSVs, all those who have had them.

Chocasaurus · 03/08/2022 20:00

Great NSVs everyone.

Have been feeling exhausted and achey today. After a comment from my mum, I've released that I've not had a b12 injection since before Christmas, and supposed to have them every 12 weeks. I've now booked one for next Thurs, so hoping I get a boost of energy after.

B - greek yoghurt and cinnamon
L - leftover med veg bake with grated cheese
D - sausage and green veg (and mash for DH)

Got a couple of bits of clothing I want to fit into again so going to try them on at the weekend to see how far I've got to go.

Lougle · 03/08/2022 20:22

I also had a NSV. Some trousers I haven't worn for a few years for really nicely.

The last couple of days have been hard though. Migraines make me feel horrible and it makes me want to throw the towel in just because I feel bad.

B - yoghurt & clotted cream
L - slice of goats cheese
D - burger and roast veg

3 litres so far.

ChimneyPot · 03/08/2022 20:37

Well done on the NSV. Putting on something that didn’t fit a few weeks ago and now looks great is such a good feeling.

Todays food
B-eggs, spinach, mushroom and tomato fried in butter
L-tuna mayo wrapped in lettuce
D-Roast chicken with blue cheese sauce and a salad. Forgot to ask for the dressing on the side so I hope it wasn’t too carby.
S-Olives and cheese
water 3.5l so far

DS wants pizza tomorrow night and the Italian here only does pizza and pasta so it will be takeaway. Trying to decide whether beef and black bean or Thai green curry chicken will be the better takeaway option for me. I have cauliflower rice in the freezer.

Baystard · 03/08/2022 20:54

Great losses and NSVs everyone!

Really enjoyed my dinner tonight, sausages (90% pork) and shredded cabbage fried with chorizo (rest of the familam had chips peas and sweetcorn with theirs).

Treated myself to tea with milk this evening and it was bloody lovely!

@venusandmars ooh mustardy cheese sauce, sounds like a great idea with some gammon I've been wondering what to do with!

Livelongandprosper · 03/08/2022 21:04

@ditavonteesed Eric is looking very sleek!

venusandmars · 03/08/2022 21:27

@ChimneyPot why not do your own version of a pizza to have with ds? 2 portobello mushrooms (oiled) topped with ham, tomato, olive, cheese...

Or a meat based meatzza

CarpetMollusc · 03/08/2022 21:29

Had a very busy couple of days so not posted food, but have been okay. Ish. Couple of minor misdemeanours but ones that will be allowed next week, i.e. had some raspberries yesterday, needed something sweet to prevent major damage being done otherwise, so not going to beat myself up.

B- greek yogurt, cream, flax seed
L - busy, so just 2 babybel
D- courgette, mushroom and pepper ratatouille thing, with halloumi and homemade guacamole

WhoAteTheChips · 03/08/2022 21:45

Had a long journey today so water has definitely been out of kilter. Food has been ok-ish but not healthy particularly. Simply food at the service station was shut so bacon and two eggs about 11am and just had a chicken tikka with no sauce at an Indian restaurant 50 miles from destination. Feeling a bit yuck and vegetable deficient!

ChairOfInvisibleStudies · 03/08/2022 22:26

I've been investigating excavating the freezer and have unearthed some diced venison. I'd normally slow cook it in vast quantities of red wine and dumplings, but clearly that's not an option! Does anyone have any bootcamp friendly inspiration for me please?

Bunce1 · 03/08/2022 23:34

@ChairOfInvisibleStudies Can you make your venison into a slow cooked tagline type thing served with a green salad with a zingy lemon dressing?

bad day today. Not enough water and Dd brought home chips. I ate some. Only like 8. But still.

b- scrambled eggs, avocado tomatoes and black olives with feta
l- prosciutto with cream cheese and cucumber
d- chips. Then kale chips!

also found seaweed thins. They taste like the devils anus.

bummer.

@ditavonteesed hpw was your meal out?

venusandmars · 04/08/2022 00:46

@Bunce1 seaweed thins - you just have to channel your inner mermaid!

ditavonteesed · 04/08/2022 02:34

@Bunce1 dont say I don't warn you about the seaweed thins!
Meal out is tonight ( as in Thursday) , I'm at smelly work tonight (as in Wednesday) (sorry had to clarify days else I lose track completely). Tonight was the Buffett at work, managed to be good I brought a load of salami and cheese so I stuck with that. It's hard at this time of night though when my body seems to crave the sugar.

loopylu26 · 04/08/2022 09:01

Today
B - Crustless quiche, baby toms & mayo (again)
L - Roasted chicken thigh with all the skin (yum) & salad
D - Smoked salmon fillet with buttered tenderstem, baby corn & green beans

A bit of a dodgy tummy over the past few days, wondering whether it's my system getting used to the extra fat in my diet after years of depriving myself

Thanks @venusandmars for the cheese sauce tips, I shall try next time. I sometimes add a little freshly ground nutmeg which goes really well with spinach

@Bunce1 I agree, seaweed thins are the devil's crisp
