Evening/all morning all

As ever here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Please be aware that this week, like week 3, is likely to see little or no weight loss.

Just KOKO! If it's worked for you in the first two weeks, then it will keep on working for you from here on in.

It's about transitioning from carb burning to fat burning.

Flowers and good luck to us all from next week!

Hello all, so lovely to hear you all doing so well!
Still here, still KOKO but tbh, not going so well emotionally as have hit an awful wall last few days. I just have the most debilitating muscle fatigue and fogginess. It's not keto flu, feels much more ingrained IYSWIM? Thought I was just being feeble to start with then realised my legs were tired coming DOWN the stairs.. let alone going up! I think its due to not eating well, relying on homemade linseed crackers and 'bread' for snacks. Not enough water. Not enough fresh veg and very little 'proper' meat. 😔 Must try harder to be kind to myself.

FinallyHere · 11/02/2022 18:18

Ooohh @BIWI much prefer your version of seafood shells

😁

FinallyHere · 11/02/2022 18:20

@venusandmars

Oh, I wish I could send you some of the empty shells. I've been saving them, who knows what for. Can't quite bring myself tho through them out .... but also haven't yet actually recreated the dish.

BIWI · 11/02/2022 18:26

@Wilkolampshade that doesn't sound good!

Have you taken a Covid test?

... but also, why aren't you eating properly?!

@BIWI @FinallyHere she's better man than I am if she had chocolate seashells with avocado and tabasco!! Grin

Benvolio · 11/02/2022 18:33

@venusandmars yep, my life is a Mallorey Towers! But with added housework.

@BIWI yes, I thought that. Would love you to write a book - I'd buy it!

BIWI · 11/02/2022 18:33

I did think it was a bit weird ...

Yes, thx @BIWI, deffo not covid. And your question is a good one, I honestly have no idea why I'm finding this so hard atm? May be a little depressed.
I don't want to be a fun sponge tho, especially when yr all doing so well, so will FO and get my arse together. DH home this weekend so I can get out ALL DAY tomorrow (usually stuck in the house most of the time). Will do a London walk and go to DD's concert. And eat better. I promise.

BIWI · 11/02/2022 19:03

No need to FO! Just post here and let's see if we can help or inspire you!

8am detention sounds like it's a punishment for you @Benvolio, not the kids!

OP posts:
Wilkolampshade · 11/02/2022 19:12

@BIWI don't worry, I'll keep going. Just knowing yr all there helps.
I'll aim to do better tomorrow and report back in the evening. Smile

venusandmars · 11/02/2022 19:33

@Wilkolampshade I find that the easiest way to make this work is if I have a plan for my food, and then buy the majority of the ingredients I need. So a fridge that has eggs, cheese, some ham, sausages, some veg (cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, onions), a tin of tuna or sardines and some salad stuff. Plus some easy meals for kids / other family members.

I also find that if I have a meal plan I feel a bit more in control of life (even if things don't work out as I expect). For me, not eating properly adds to my downward spiral. Anyway, keep on going, you will find your groove.

Wilkolampshade · 11/02/2022 19:37

@venusandmars bless you, x

Baystard · 11/02/2022 20:23

@Wilkolampshade sorry to hear you're feeling rough. Flowers A meal plan is a great idea, I do this from week to week for the family and adapt recipes for me, otherwise I'd only ever pick at things and never actually cook. Can you write down half a dozen LC meals you like, then chose which order to have them and make a shopping lost? Maybe browse a recipe book or website for inspiration?

venusandmars · 11/02/2022 20:32

Also Wilkolampshade I find it always help if I know what I'm going to have for breakfast. So I go to bed knowing that that in the morning I will have an avocado, or a boiled egg, or some yogurt. That way the day starts on plan.

Otherwise I can easily find myself standing in front of the fridge, in a bit of a dither, and thinking about having toast!

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 11/02/2022 20:40

@venusandmars in my case it was like being the only grown up amongst a gang of excitable toddlers. Everyone was very happily celebrating Friday and all I wanted was a cup of tea, the fire and a bit of telly! Home now and hiding upstairs while DH finishes his fish and chips!

Brain dump:

Comfort eating doesn't change what happened. I didn't Eat when I was upset about DDog.

I'm not changing myself. I'm old enough and strong enough to find out who I have always been and not be knocked back by people who dont believe in me. I can surround myself with people that support me.

I felt that I was full and stopped eating to assess. Had a drink of water and even though the food was delicious, realised I didn't need to eat any more.

Savoury food can taste sweet when you aren't acclimatised to sugar. Food before processed sugar was cheap must have tasted so good. Maybe 'dreary' British food isn't really dreary, we just don't taste it properly.

SpottyBumPony · 11/02/2022 21:03

Wow that was a busy week at work, very full on but made me engage my brain in a good way.

I wasn't hungry at lunchtime - this is a major change in habit for me on a work day. I was peckish around 11, then went for a walk with a friend at 12.30 and got a coffee for the way back. After the coffee I was about to warm up my lunch when I realised it was just out of habit, I wasn't actually hungry. About 3pm I had half a bag of pork scratchings and was satisfied.

Yoga this evening with asparagus, green bean and shallot fritatta for dinner.

Jollyholibobs · 12/02/2022 08:04

@Wilkolampshade sorry you are feeling down. Keep posting here. Don’t FO.

@Andi2020 dd2 looks lovely. Hope she had a good time.

Still no working oven here. We’ve had two elements replaced on the cooker. they switched it on and now the fan has gone and the oven control is fried. Already clocked up £££. Been with out oven for 10 days. Don’t intend to stay in this house much longer (we are building another one) so don’t want to replace it. It’s a big range thing so there is not a cheap option to replace but now looking at spending another few £100s to maybe get it going …..if they can find the parts. We can’t decide what to do. The guys that are fixing it are not filling us with confidence but it’s 12 or 13 years old so maybe we are being mad to think it can be fixed. Going to MIL’s today to look after her and give other family members a day off. We shall utilise her rubbish oven (it’s tiny) with delight this time.

Made a sort of cheesy, courgette bake in the microwave last night. Not great but was feeling emotional about the oven fail and had no energy to be creative. DH was on the brink of a takeaway but I pulled him back from that. Any good experiences to support spending lots more to get the old oven going again?

B IF - DH just brought me black coffee in bed.
L tuna Mayo salad
D salmon tray bake. Prepped at home but baked at MIL’s.

Jezzballs2000 · 12/02/2022 08:51

@Wilkolampshade i felt a lot like that last week. No energy and felt tired going up the stairs. i have upped my water and fats and think it's helping. But life is quite hard going at the moment so I'm just accepting some of it is external. I am waitimf for the days of not wanting to snack and having tons of energy as some have seen on here!

I have managed to stay on the wagon with a few incidents of eating/gorging on lots of chorizo but I am working out that I'm really hungry in the morning (key snacking time) and actually less so in the evening. So if i eat more in the AM I am hopping it might all balance out. My aim after 4 weeks of fat adaption is to start trying for IF.

B cream yogurt berries - i feel so good after this!
Second B LC fry up in a nice cafe ok just seen toddler has fallen asleep so guess we're going nowhere
L veg and salmon
D Ottolenghi roasted veg salad thing

Baystard · 12/02/2022 08:52

@Jollyholibobs I sympathise about the oven, I could probably manage without a hob but no oven would be a disaster.

Could you find a second hand range cooker to tide you over?

Jollyholibobs · 12/02/2022 09:14

@Baystard I’ve looked at second hand as well but still similar or greater costs to repairing the one we have and at least we know it’s history.

ShangPie · 12/02/2022 09:27

@Jollyholibobs sorry to hear about your oven woes. In the short term, could you buy second hand or borrow a slow cooker, crockpot or even a rice cooker? Plug in, put food in, lid on, forget!

Not so good for bake-type dishes, but great for soup, stew, sauces, etc.

Did a sneaky weigh and I may have had a whoosh. Waiting for official confirmation on Monday before declaring as these sneaky weighs have tripped me up before Angry
