Evening/all morning all

As ever here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Please be aware that this week, like week 3, is likely to see little or no weight loss.

Just KOKO! If it's worked for you in the first two weeks, then it will keep on working for you from here on in.

It's about transitioning from carb burning to fat burning.

Flowers and good luck to us all from next week!

Sorry for those who are feeling demoralised. It is tough. Keep going though it does work.

I’ve weighed today and a small loss but going to enter weight tomorrow coz Tuesday result is normally better! Off for a walk in the frosty sunshine to start my day…with a bit of desert island discs for company!

Good luck to those yet to weigh in/measure NSV.

BSky · 07/02/2022 08:46

Tried the M&S seeded crackers - they are a bit like sawdust & bird seed. But I quite like that & with some pate or cheese they hit the spot for some crunch. Thanks for the recommendation.

Jollyholibobs · 07/02/2022 08:50

Morning all. Just posting to put last week behind me and start this week determined to KOKO.

Today’s food.
B IF
L tuna Mayo salad
D salmon and cauliflower cheese

The sun is shining but a neighbours trampoline is 2 fields away from where it started!

My oven went bang and emitted smoke last week. Hoping that engineer today will fix it.

EwanHoozami · 07/02/2022 09:10

That was so thoughtful of your family, Dolly - I love a fondue. Watching the Winter Olympics has got me hankering for some and then I saw your post - must get the ancient fondue set from wherever it's gathering dust!

A gain for me too, today. The trend is my friend overall however.

My trip to Harvester on Saturday was very jolly, and so LC-friendly! I had chicken thigh and padron pepper kebabs and they left the chicken skin on. They swapped chips for green beans and the salad bar sorted out the rest.

Livelongandprosper · 07/02/2022 09:12

Two pounds on, not surprising after I tried to fix stress at work last week with sugar. Putting that behind me this week and searching for a different way to react to stress at work.

HaggisTheGreat · 07/02/2022 09:18

Well done to all the losers and KOKO to everyone else! Slight loss for me this week, which is more than I deserve, to be honest, as I’ve had a few slippages. But I find the scales really motivating this morning - imagine what I could achieve if I follow all the rules!

Made bolognese last night and had mine on fried cabbage with lashings of cheese. It was gorgeous. Might turn some of the remaining cabbage into some kind of curry today.

Has anyone tried freezing white cabbage? Maybe fried? Does it come out ok? I find it helps to have a few ready/easy veg options to hand to make it easier to swerve the rice/pasta/bread that the rest of the family has.

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 07/02/2022 09:27

@BIWI you are kind.

Basically, left to my own hermit-like devices, I can eat BC-friendly food quite happily - eggs, homemade soups, salads, meat etc. I did dry January with hardly a wobble. I hit my 2l of water at least 6 days out of 7. My portion sizes are sensible.

Then life happens. On Wednesday I went out with a friend who has recently suffered a shocking bereavement so we drank too much while I listened and comforted. I didn't eat that badly - tapas stuff so easy to pick out the right foods.

Thursday night dinner with friend celebrating amazing, life changing news. Again I ate good choices for starters and mains but he was in a "let's push the boat out and have dessert" mood which I chose to go along with.

Friday, all day meeting at an offsite venue which I thought would have good lunch options but ended up being white bread sandwiches, crisps and cake! So I ate enough to stave off hunger.

One pint on Saturday which I've already fessed up to.

Et voilà, 4lb back on the scales today.

But there's not much choice other than to keep going, stick to the rules and hope that the losses will outweigh the gains.

BIWI · 07/02/2022 09:30

Yep, it's hard when life gets in the way Sad

KOKO. You will get there!

I'm in my normal boot camp rhythm of losing 1lb a week.

Total loss in a month is 5lbs but more importantly 2 inches off my waist. I've been combining boot camp with the 30 day shred so weight loss is less important than inch loss as I'm building muscle.

Keep going if you've stalled. It's only 8 weeks & just think how much better you'll feel switching to the summer wardrobe if you stick with this.

Icaru · 07/02/2022 09:37

No loss this week but no surprise. We found out we were finally exchanging last week and moving this friday, after seeing the house and putting an offer in last april (!!!) so a fair bit of celebrating and everyone wanting leaving drinks/dinner, I ended up eating out five nights last week. Tried to keep it relatively low carb but e.g. wings came battered, and high calorie food and lots of alcohol in general.

I'd say I'll be better this week but suspect it depends how stressful the move is and whether I have access to healthy choices without a kitchen forna few days.

SpottyBumPony · 07/02/2022 09:50

Well I'm not sure if I believe the scales this morning, it's showing a 7lb loss and 12.1 overall ShockHmmGrin

ShangPie · 07/02/2022 10:26

High fives to all the losers and KOKO for everyone else!

Curse of Week 3 - I’m up 1.3lb this week despite a sneaky Saturday weigh showing a loss but somehow still down 1cm on the waist, so I’m not too disappointed.

This week’s plan is to cut back on the dairy snacks and up the greenery. Seem to have reduced the amount of FTGV and on Saturday I actually threw away salad to eat M&S crackers and cheese Blush Have given my head a wobble, now back on it!

Looking forward to trying the chicken thighs recipe and cauliflower cheese with the famous cheese sauce

BestIsWest · 07/02/2022 10:50

Last week wasn’t a particularly good one for me so STS.
Onwards!

pinkpinkeverywhere · 07/02/2022 10:58

Morning everyone, a loss for me but I am week 5 and feel a bit more in the rhythm of it.
Three meals out last week, but I drank water during 2 and a gin at the other and at each I picked fish and asked for the potatoes to be replaced by extra veg, so I came away feeling very virtuous. The scales this morning were my reward Grin

Newlease · 07/02/2022 10:59

@DollyDingleberry aww that sounds so lovely, when they make such an effort to help you stay on track. @UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea I know eaxctly what you are saying, I am dreading the family events as well.Day before was a special day, but managed to stick to plan and not eat any carbs. But have another two day event coming up end of Feb, I will have to cook a lot of food for that and then would have to go with the flow. Hoping by then I will loose a little more.
Thanks everyone who helped with my eat out question, didn't have a menu at hand as was not sure where are we going to stop. But managed to stay away from anything carbwise- Only thing is I didn't have water at all.. as already filled up and was bursting to pee while on drive lol. I will manage more today..
and 2 lbs off, I am a week ahead than most of you, so those who stayed same, hopefully will see better result next week ..

Fleecy · 07/02/2022 11:16

I'm at the end of week 4 and lost a pound this week. Happy enough with that, especially since I reminded DH that we're not going to compare or talk about our respective losses, so I don't get demotivated.

This time last week I was so frustrated and peed off, so I commiserate with those feeling that way today. But I've kept at it and am in a pair of jeans that were previously too tight, so it's working, even if slowly.

Made some more of the parmesan shortbread yesterday - it's so nice. Thank you whoever posted the recipe - everyone liked it.

Today's menu...
B: eggs scrambled in butter with some veggies
L: parmesan shortbread with cold meats, cheese, olives, veg sticks
D: cod with wilted spinach, plus a side of garlic and bacon green beans and leeks

I love Mondays because the shop comes so the fridge is full of goodies and I have a lovely meal plan with lots of delicious things to look forward to. I have found that planning makes such a difference.

Also, I took your advice @BIWI and swapped the mango for frozen raspberries with this. I can confirm it's yum and would highly recommend it!

Gardeniafleur · 07/02/2022 11:17

I lost .2 of a pound but let’s see that as a positive!

Benvolio · 07/02/2022 11:34

Sneaky peek at the scales yesterday morning and I was down 3lbs and into next stone bracket. What about this morning? Er, 2lbs back on... I'm not bothered about that - just natural fluctuations but I can't wait to get to the sunny uplands beyond, to where the stone bracket I'm hovering over is the one below that! Or even, to be frank, the one below that.

2022sucksalready · 07/02/2022 11:55

Morning, well done losers, keep on everyone else (including me). i've gained this week, but it's possibly hormonal (perimenopause, so no clue when my periods might occur). I usually gain a few pounds that week.

@BIWI I'm not sure what has happened with the spreadsheet. I put in this weeks weight and it seems to think i've lost that much, rather than weigh that much, sorry.

venusandmars · 07/02/2022 12:19

Placemarking until I have time to post. I've read everything so far though...

CrystalTits · 07/02/2022 12:27

Another week under the (looser?) belt. Although I've been really compliant all week I've decided not to weigh myself today as I know that I'll be demotivated to see any Wk3 gain, and I want to keep myself focused for the days ahead. I also ate a fabulous LC meal out last night at a steakhouse, grilled king prawns in garlic butter to start followed by a huge rare steak (that I struggled to finish) and veg with a tablespoon of blue cheese sauce. The waiter was totally bamboozled that I didn't want the triple cooked chips and bloody charged me for broccoli instead! No wine, just sparkling water, and my halo only slipped slightly when I had half a fruit juice ice lolly when I got home.

I don't feel any slimmer this week so I'm looking for NSVs instead (forgot to take starting measurements aka couldn't face the reality) and to KOKO for week 4.

RagzRebooted · 07/02/2022 13:25

Just under 0.5lb on for me, but it was DD's birthday last week so had cake (and a few crisps) then and DS made a marble cake at school that he insisted I try the next day. Did not get anywhere near my water target and it's TOTM and I was covering my colleague who has covid. Oh and I went out to the pub with DH on Friday but only had one red wine as it was so sweet and switched to vodka and soda. Weekend was good food wise.

Submitting myself for the Big Stick and promising no deviations this week. Water is on my desk.

I've lost a pound this week which I am glad of as it's my monthly time and I've just started my hrt patch
Well done everyone and thanks as always @BIWI
