Morning all.

So we're entering the last four weeks. Still time to lose a good few pounds before we reach the end.

here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I can see already that we've had some great results, and look forward to seeing/hearing about the rest!

oooooooooo... quick work by the mods there.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 07/07/2020 21:05

Lots of water for me today. Onto my 3rd litre.

Some chorizo, babybel, and mushrooms for lunch.

Broccoli, mince and butter for dinner. (don't mock, I'm a shit cook)

Raging strop to accompany the whole day. Christ knows why I keep forgetting that volunteering to proofread stuff can be so... aggravating.

Almost in bed! Just had a bubble bath and face mask as a treat! Much more enjoyable than the chocolate mousse my husband bought me (which I declined!). Right, off to bed now I'm feeling all smug about happily refusing sweet treats!

@BrassicaBabe and @Hopeislost I am ridiculously excited about the hair being done. I made the appointment the day it was announced we could go from 4th July, which I think was about 6 or 7 weeks ago. I’d already spoken to the salon owner about wanting the first possible appointment they had. I had been to a different salon just before lockdown who buggered up my colour and cut my fringe wonky so this was meant to be done in March, but unavoidable events followed.

The hairdresser called me today to make sure I knew the rules and to tell me to bring my own refreshments and magazines and to say I’m not allowed to bring my children. Grin I can imagine they have had desperate women turn up with bairns in tow. I’m going to take a turkey salad and some pork scratchings and a flask of tea I think. As I’ll probably be there 11-4 at least. Going to have a big breakfast of chorizo, peppers, shallots, spinach and duck eggs.

@nowlook I’m sure your bosoms are at least matching! I’ve spent the evening looking at far too many celebrities chests and now I’m boob blind.

MrsTerryPratchett · 08/07/2020 03:01

Hello lovelies.

Which one of you recommended Facetheory for skincare? It's the very first time someone has commented on my skin looking loads better. After a week. At work. THANKS!

Takingontheworld · 08/07/2020 08:02

Laska, no i think the weight is definitely all my own doing!
It does make me basically infertile though, it caused me much heartache in the years gone past. I'm back on it now because i definitely do not want anymore kids and we ironically know just how well it works 😂

I think I'm pretty identifiable at this point, if anyone spotted me and waded through my posts enough to connect dots, but I'll be vague anyways.

Had catastrophic financial news yesterday. I've been awake all night. No idea what will happen next or how things will play out but my stress levels are high and i feel very very low.

Last night i broke and ordered a kebab, grabbed the kids chocolate biscuits and hid in my car for a tale as old as time- car binge and sob.

I didn't order chips, just meat, cheese and veg, as if that made it any better. I only managed 1/4 of the meat, ate all the cheese and veg and then threw it. It wasn't enjoyable and I've spent all night feeling worry sick and guilty sick.

Anyways. Today i intend to fast until midday (7pm eat yesterday) up my water and hope that this isn't the event that fucks my weightloss journey after it was going so well and i had so much mental space for it this time.

8Track · 08/07/2020 09:00

Oh Taking, so sorry to hear about the bad news you've had. Sending lots of calming and positive thoughts your way that a fresh morning brings some clarity. Those guilt-filled sleeps are awful, aren't they. Your plan for today sounds excellent, younger this!

MrsK how exciting about the new boobs, but how tricky to find a set you like!! I think I'd find myself eyeing up strangers, and probably get myself into all sorts of situations! Sounds like such a positive step for confidence and happiness in your body.

Thanks for the add @AthelstaneTheUnready. And for the congrats @Rshard and @Takingontheworld

1.7kg down so far. First time I've been back below 88kg in a couple of weeks and feeling gooooood!! Got salmon fillets marinating in Tom yum to have later on - I think maybe with a spiced coconut cream sauce and some konjac noodles. Sesame oil roasted broccoli on the side. It's a bit cool here, so this sounds warm and comforting!

I made a quick tandoori fried batch of aubergine and courgette yesterday, so have enough for 2 days of lunches, yum! The great thing about working from home is having so much more flexibility with food - I can eat when I'm hungry, not at a set time; can warm things up a lot more easily; and am "home" after work much earlier, so more headspace (this week anyway!) to get delicious low carb things cooking - it's really making this WOE much easier.

@Abeilles I feel your pain on the husband treats - mine is substantially older and fitter than I, and is very supportive, but doesn't really have any issues maintaining his weight. Combined with being absent minded means he has so far offered me a specially purchased Calippo, a Magnum and to cook spag bol (in jar sauce) - woops. Makes me feel very in control to happily turn him down!

That was me @MrsTerryPratchett I’m so glad it’s working for you. I’ve recommended it to a few people and everyone has had great results and compliments. I really love the smell of the products as well, especially the cleansers.

BrassicaBabe · 08/07/2020 09:54

Ooh, always interested in some lockdown spending. Which products do you recommend? I missed the original chat somewhere along the road

Rshard · 08/07/2020 10:24

So sorry to hear about your financial difficulties taking

Also interested in the skincare, I think I could do with a neck cream if anyone has any recommendations?

MrsKoala · 08/07/2020 11:48

@BrassicaBabe the FaceTheory website is really good at tailoring a routine and products for your skin type. You do a little questionnaire and it then puts together suggestions. I have rosacea and some enlarged pores on my nose and chin and I really rate the clarifying cleanser. It smells gorgeous too. If you wear make up I recommend the Beauty Pie range particularly the apricot cleansing balm if I wear foundation I use it for a double cleanse at night With their ginseng micellar water. It removes every single trace of make up and primes skin for a good overnight treatment. Their retinol products are good too.

I tend to use FaceTheory in the morning and beauty pie at night. Their cosmetics are good too for cheap dupes - you do have to subscribe tho and some can be hit and miss - the foundation is too yellow and heavy for me so I stick to Dior liquid skin but their tinted primer (I wear just this as a base for day time as my skin is so much better now and only foundation for evenings/something social), palettes, bronzers and lipsticks are good and if you are a posh candle person they are supposed to be nice but I can’t vouch for that. Also their face sunscreen is not great as I am too fair and I stick to Clinique tinted city block spf40 or Clarins spf 50.

I buy my mum and a friend their stuff for Christmas, birthday, Mother’s Day etc and bits for myself throughout the year so I think the subscription saves me money on the more branded stuff I would buy and everyone raves about the ‘expensive high end products’ I buy them.

The body tan mouse is the best colour I have found - not orange or smelly. But I still rate tan luxe drops the best facial tanner. Non greasy and as long as you massage it in well (especially round the hair line and neck - I always TITTT - ‘take it to the tits’ Grin ) then it gives a really natural glow on my fair skin.

Sorry that was a long one - got carried away Grin

CalendulaAndRoses · 08/07/2020 11:56

so sorry to hear that @Takingontheworld I hope things feel a little better today - do you have any coping strategies you can cling to to help you stay grounded ? sounds very very tough.

Congrats to all getting new hair or boobs or both ! I'm like a flat chested scarecrow here so am enjoying the vicarious living

Congrats @MrsTerryPratchett on the skin compliements. My skin is definitely looking better at the moment as well. I think it is (for me) combo of drinking far less alcohol, eating more really good fats and a new skincare routine (i've never really adhered to one before so at the age of 51 it's about time!) I'm using boots no 7 lift and luminate with serum, day and night cream and a nighttime retinol complex. Used some ordinary products before that which started things getting better but then were all out of stock. I like the no 7 ok, but it is pretty heavy and I'm not mad on the scent. once I have burned through this lot I will def look at Facetheory - checked out the website quickly just there and the prices seem ok and if it really is as good as all that...I'm in!

MrsKoala · 08/07/2020 11:57

@Rshard the best all purpose cream I use nightly for neck and décolletage (and a deep moisturising all over body and facial treatment overnight once a week) is something called Egyptian magic cream it is a hard oil which you warm up in your hands by rubbing them together and it then turns to an oil. A little goes a long way and it’s a real drink for thirsty skin. Other than that as I said above I TITTT with all my facial products especially the nightly retinol stuff.

CalendulaAndRoses · 08/07/2020 11:58

x posted - thanks for all the details @MrsKoala

MrsKoala · 08/07/2020 12:00

@Takingontheworld I’m so sorry to hear that. I’m sorry I missed your post with all my vain superficial waffling. Is there anything you can do in this situation?

devoncreamtea · 08/07/2020 12:40

There’s few things worse than financial crisis taking Flowers hope you are feeling more positive today.

I'd like to share with you my comedy resolve from an all-day meeting yesterday.

Full buffet lunch.
I ate:
(a) the inside of a pork pie quarter;
(b) the insides of two ham and mustard sandwich triangles;
(c) the insides of two chicken salad sandwich triangles.

All whilst taking witness statements for a court case.

Nobody dared say anything because I had my glasses perched on my nose and was acting quite the Kavanagh QC Grin Grin

8Track · 08/07/2020 14:32

Super effort @nowlook!! Do love a random buffet selection when you're trying to avoid the beige!

MrsTerryPratchett · 08/07/2020 14:45

Thanks @MrsKoala

I know it's all vain waffling but it really makes a difference. So thanks again.

@CalendulaAndRoses I know the lack of alcohol and drinking is good but DH told me I looked good on the Sunday after my only wine of the week!

MrsKoala · 08/07/2020 15:49

Just FYI - If anyone is interested in the beauty pie subscription I can send you a refer a friend link and you get the first month free. I think the minimum sign up is 3 months if you wanted to buy a few bit and cancel it. I promise I don’t have any connection to the brand and it’s not MLM Grin

MrsKoala · 08/07/2020 16:30

Oh and also (I’ll shut up soon I promise) if you order from FaceTheory for the first time discount code FB30 will give you 30% off.

Rshard · 08/07/2020 16:31

Thanks mrskoala, I’ll check that recommendation out.

Excellent negotiation of the buffet there nowlook!

Mixitupalot · 08/07/2020 16:48

checking-in with you all & again, well done! I am 3lbs off my next target, so i really need to KOKO its bank holiday this weekend in NI so DH has decide to have a BBQ & his parents over, so i need to stay strong. Luckily i am T-total so don't have that worry, just the delicious Potato salad the Mil makes needs to be avoided.
