Morning all.

So we're entering the last four weeks. Still time to lose a good few pounds before we reach the end.

here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I can see already that we've had some great results, and look forward to seeing/hearing about the rest!

1lb off for me, happy with that Smile Lots more great losses. @ShagMeRiggins, amazing dedication! I've been eating 85% dark chocolate and feel like some kind of decadent floozy 😁

devoncreamtea · 06/07/2020 17:51

🤣 nowlook I was a midlands gal but I defected you Devon!

Takingontheworld · 06/07/2020 17:58

Congrats tornfelt!

MrsKoala · 06/07/2020 18:29

I’m a Londoner but say mardy. I first picked it up in DH Lawrence books at a level and then I went to uni in Leicester, and I’m now married to a Notts man. I also say many Scouse, Yorkshire, Cornish, Irish and Yiddish words because of previous husbands, lovers and friends. Mix it in with my dads rhyming slang and being brought up around so many different cultures and people can’t place me at all. WRT gopping, it’s only a word I’ve previously heard up north.

Laska2Meryls · 06/07/2020 19:25

Dh has gone to visit his Mum on the mainland and will be away a few days . First time since lockdown we've been apart as both of us are retired ..
Whilst ill miss him , It means that instead of 'dinner' I can have my favourite LC meal of a plate of broccoli and prawns , with soy sauce chilli and sesame oil . Just that. Yum

Tornfelt · 06/07/2020 20:07

I like saying mardy, but that's mainly because of the Arctic Monkeys!

8Track · 06/07/2020 20:33

Ooh @Laska2Meryls that sesame oil on broccoli sounds like a great idea. Roasting broccoli here too, but with olive oil, lemon, pepper and a couple of sad tomatoes (and carrots for DP), to have mixed with the end of a bit of feta and some black olives. With butcher sausages, nice and meaty.

I do like mardy, but also love the phrase "got a cob on". It just conjours all the right pictures in my mind!

Rshard · 06/07/2020 20:34

Definitely nowlook!

1WildTeaParty · 06/07/2020 21:15

I love mardy but it is part of a 'rule of three' phrase here. Apparently my Yorkshire grandad was sometimes a : 'mean miserable mardy old man'!

venusandmars · 06/07/2020 21:40

Takingontheworld - don't know how you deal with your beans, but if you add the water that is in the tin, some of the carb will have leached out into the water and therefore be in the sauce. Best add them separately to 'the others' dinner. Keep yours pure.

Takingontheworld · 06/07/2020 21:51

Oh I always rinse them in a sieve... do people use the slimey water they come in!? 😂 the idea freaks me out but I'm not sure i can articulate why lol!

I do love chilli mind. If I'd have had cabbage I'd have made taco mince and made a crunchy mex bowl. My fave!

NigellaAwesome · 06/07/2020 23:38

Gopping is used in NI as well. It's such a descriptive word.

Great news on the scales everyone! I'm waiting until Wed before I can weigh.

@VenusandMars hope you enjoyed your hugs!

devoncreamtea · 07/07/2020 06:49

Sorry to drop and run, more later, but wanted to share 157.2 again on scales so a day of concentrating on my water knocked that pound on the head!!

8Track · 07/07/2020 07:45

Great stuff devon. I'm loving all this word chat, aren't dialects wonderful?

Using lunch to take the car for its MOT today (a restoration project, this will certainly be the first of several attempts!) so thinking of an early feast of soft boiled eggs, crispy cos and cucumber with grainy mustard. Tea tonight is my absolute FAVE - chicken thighs roasted until crispy skinned. With a bunch of english asparagus (no idea how that's still in season!) and whatever the bunch of greens in the veg box was.

whispers I haven't been back on bootcamp until now, but I'm ever so proud that yesterday was my first alcohol free day in a LONG TIME.

Rshard · 07/07/2020 08:11

That’s great devon!

Your food for today sounds lovely 8track, we’ve enjoyed all the asparagus this year. Combination of all that early sun and the rain we’ve had? I have no idea really?

Off to a local NT property later, first time since February. But first haircuts for dd and I!! Well actually sorting my roots, have decided I quite like the extra length. So excited

Takingontheworld · 07/07/2020 08:22

Congrats on alcohol free day 8track!

I'm on nights for next 3 days then away with work again this weekend. Will do absolutely all i can to stay on track!

Laska2Meryls · 07/07/2020 09:33

Hurrah the scales responded to the threat of being cast out of the window and have grudgingly re allowed my Sunday weight plus half a pound more !! So Yes! a Stone (nd half a pound) off now

Takingontheworld · 07/07/2020 09:49

Yay Laska!

NoraEphronsneck · 07/07/2020 09:58

I've lost another 5lbs this week which I'm delighted about. I think it may be because I never really switched to bootcamp light so have only had fruit maybe once or twice in total and no nuts still (even though I love them).

Although this is quite a big loss, I feel really flabby today. Not sure what that means.

Just signing on to work to find out whether my job is at risk of redundancy so that'll take the edge off my loss.

Laska2Meryls · 07/07/2020 10:11

Nora brilliant on the 5lbs and 🤞🤞 for your job

Ninkanink · 07/07/2020 10:19

Hi everyone! 🌷 Thanks for the new thread, BIWI 🌷

I missed weigh-in on the thread last week (I’m in the middle of packing up our house for a big move and just completely forgot) but I recorded a modest loss on Monday last week of 200g bringing me to a total cumulative loss of exactly 3kg.

Yesterday I recorded another small loss taking me to an overall loss of 3.6kg (7.937lbs) in 5 weeks (I’m one week behind everyone else) which I’m very happy with as I seem to have dodged the 3-4 week stall.

Good luck to everyone, hope you all are well and sending positive vibes to anyone who needs it. 🌻

KOKO!!

Eggbound · 07/07/2020 11:05

Wanted to share that I made this keto chicken curry last night and it was divine.

I substituted a bit of the cream for full-fat Greek yogurt, and also added a sprinkling of vegetable bouillon powder. It was so tasty.

Served it with sag paneer from the low carb veggie recipe board on here.

Takingontheworld · 07/07/2020 11:06

Sooo much ovulation type pains...
Still bleeding.

I'm a little bit concerned... like, theres no way this WOE would actually override the protection side of things right? I mean not that me and dh get much of a chance at all these days but... i really really don't want more babies Blush

MrsKoala · 07/07/2020 11:29

Hurrah! my Iceland delivery made up of cauliflower and veg steam bags has arrived. So curries and chillis are back on the menu.

Eggbound · 07/07/2020 11:38

@Takingontheworld, that sounds disconcerting. I thought this WOE was supposed to help regulate and make hormones function more 'normally'? Hopefully others more in the know will be along to advise soon.

@BIWI, can I ask for advice on doing LCHF in the absence of a gallbladder? My mum's quite interested in what we're doing, and she has weight to lose, but she had her gallbladder removed years ago. I found some online info saying it can be done, but fat intake has to be managed more carefully (more MCT fats, apparently, which don't need bile to be processed). I'd be interested to know if you have any insights on this. Thank you.

And to all and anyone: any good Instant Pot/slow cooker keto recipes? Preferrably some not involving beef and lamb too. I'm loving all the fresh food, but sometimes there isn't the time to make it. Last night's curry was so late it definitely compromised my 16:8 fasting. It'd be great to throw some stuff in the Instant Pot/slow cooker on work days and know that dinner is sorted.
